If you are someone who likes to know the culture and mix with locals while experiencing their cuisine when visiting a place then Forodhani is the right place for you. The food market is opened everyday from 5:30 pm and you will be welcomed by so many people who will be telling you about their foods so as to win you to go eat at their spots, you really need to be patient with this. The most famous food to try is Zanzibar Pizza (please do make sure you try this), a lot of sea food, Zanzibar mix and fresh fruits. Well food prices can be crazy too as they treat everyone as a tourist. If you're a lover of sunsets then have your camera ready.

This is the place where I also use my comedy. It is the area closest to my home and other people in general. It is a place where I feel hungry and i eat on time. for making different friends from different places and is also the only place to see the good sun set

This place comes alive in the evening, stalls fill the park, you can find people diving off the pier (sometimes quite dangerously), dancers and more The food stalls are however, not as good as made out to be. Definitely worth a visit, but be careful of food. Generally, food is pre prepared and sitting for flies to feast on for hours before being sold. Stick to food that's cooked in front of you. We had shawarma, Zanzibar mix, and not much else.

The preparation and all this arrangement’s starts between 5.30 - 6 p.m and the entire scene of serving it is taking place at sunset time. It’s an particular and amazing atmosphere that you really have to live it.

We tried a Zanzibar pizza and it was great, definitely nothing similar to the Italian one. We also tried a shawarma and it was alright, not the best one but not bad. Somehow my opinion is mitigated. I believe it was maybe a great night food market but now it’s just very touristy. Prices are definitely higher than what they should be and for the quality of food you have. People are always trying to bring you to their food stall as well, even if you are sitting and trying to enjoy the food you just bought, which is actually annoying as you cannot just enjoy the food but have to say no / tell you’ll think about it.

The market comes to light each night with stall selling a variety of items. The market is set up in forodhani park with locals kids jumping and dancing entertaining nearby while the foods are heated . A variety of taste and cuisine could be found here. Recommended to try the Zanzibar mix and shawrama here

We came here during the evening to have a walk and try local street food from the food stalls. The people advertise their stalls in a really aggressive way which is quite tiring after a few minutes. You can find plenty of seafood options, crepes and shawarma. I am not so sure about the hygiene of the food served as I tried only the shawarma. You can eat here very cheaply.

An excellent way for a community to come and stay together is beautifully displayed in their sharing of a meal and spending quality time with each other. A lot of activity, very well attended and it's right by the Indian Ocean. I got to sample quite a bit of different foods and fairly priced. Great way to spend an evening!!
