Wow what a great find! Quality Persian food that is reasonably priced. A family run establishment with care in service and tasty dishes. The lamb Koubideh and Joojeh Kabab were tender and fresh!

I don’t know what it is about this place, but the way the food tastes so on point with the flavour and satisfaction it’s just something out of this world. I’ve never been disappointed. I have a spiritual experience whenever I eat here or have food from here. 10/10

We had mantu and kashke bademjan for starters which were both nice. Especially the mantu. Then we had a mixed grill. The koobideh was good, a touch salty for my partner but good for me. Outside of the salt not much flavour. The chicken was very juicy. The main problem was the lamb pieces, just very bland unfortunately. Chewy and bland really. The rice was also really bad, not what you expect from a Persian restaurant. It’s just easy cook rice, you can tell. On that basis alone I’d give it 4, as the service was great and friendly and the restaurant looks really good. The reason it gets a 3 is the prices. Super expensive for what it is, would expect higher quality and tastier food. Would give another chance happily however.

What a joy to be in Zaytoon restaurant. Excellent food serving great variety and best meat. Traditional decor and kind staff. Food lovers, you can ask for special meals when you pre-book and have it ready amazingly on your table. Recently tried their custom made herbal tea after a very heavy, healthy and beautiful meal.

Firstly the best Koobideh ever! Out of all the other restaurants leading like kish, this beats them all! Clean tender lamb no cartilage bits like others. And lastly and most importantly also Roya and family are just the sweetest of people ever it’s like I’m eating at a family friends home. I love you guys!

We were the only guests around 6pm there and the food was good. The salad on the other hand looked a bit gone as it has brown marks but I thought they wouldnt serve me anything expired, I had diarrhoea afterwards. Me and my husband shared the food but he didnt eat the salad. So not sure whether I would recommend this restaurant.

The hot starter was definitely microwaved hot and the cold starter definitely came straight out of the fridge (as did the chilli sauce). The bread was delicious and warm but got cold by the time the refrigerated hommous arrived. The mixed grill: the meats were good but the rice too was microwaved and underwhelming. The prices were good. Despite the restaurant not being busy, the service was slow. However, the lady helping us was amazing - she was very respectful and patient and went out of her way to explain the dishes to me and my friend. I left this place with mixed feelings: the starters were appalling, the meats in the mixed grill were good but the rice wasn't, the lady helping us was great and the prices reasonable. I'd say the restaurant has potential if they get the food right. They could also invest in some comfortable chairs instead of those hard wooden ones.

Lovely atmosphere and attentive friendly staff. Food is tasty Afghan -delicious but nothing exciting compared to what I have already experienced. Nothing that would bring me specifically back here though. But worth a stop if you are in the area.

Recently I've been trying a variety of Persian and afghani resturants and I have to say this place was by far the best I've come across. Their Kabuli with lamb was both a good portion, with favourful rice and some incredibly tender lamb. My wife had their kebab which was fantastic as well. What really set them apart was the extremely nice staff. From being polite and welcoming to really good attention to our dinner in case we needed anything. Furthermore staff that actually have a chat with you and genuinely treats you as if your a guest in their own home is rare to find and to me this was the highlight of the night. Thanks and I look forward to visiting again.

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! I wouldn’t even give them 1 star if that was an option. I booked a table for my family of 9 for Eid, (siblings, in-laws, etc) and the booking was for 5pm. We arrived on time and ordered our drinks and main courses. We finished eating at 6:15pm and asked to order tea and desserts. The owners refused to serve us anything else because they said they had another booking and needed the table. The restaurant was empty except us and a table of 2 girls sitting by the window. I asked what time the other booking was for and they said 6:40 so after practically begging to be allowed to order a dessert, they said they could manage to serve a falooda, (as if they were doing us a favour for our business)! I’ve never experienced such bad service from a restaurant, we had travelled a long way to visit and the owners and waitresses who were Muslim, (hijab wearing) women could see we were there as a family to celebrate Eid. They made us feel so unwelcome. We left feeling so disappointed because when we phoned to book the table the day before, they had not mentioned that we would only have such a short time allowed in the restaurant. What kind of restaurant only allows a group of 9 an hour for a meal. Had they of advised that we would only be allowed to stay an hour or an hour and a half then we wouldn’t have bothered travelling over an hour to dine here especially as we were celebrating Eid as a family! I found this rude. At a time when small businesses are struggling, one would think custom and spending would be appreciated. It was our first visit here and will certainly be our last. To top it off, they tried to charge £15 service charge when the service was so poor. The food was nothing special and the service was despicable. When Muslims can’t welcome other Muslims on Eid in the food and hospitality industry what else can be said. Don’t bother going here, there’s plenty of alternatives in the area. Overpriced for what it is and customer service is shameful, spend your money elsewhere, we spent £150 but wish we’d gone somewhere where we could have enjoyed a 3 course meal and finished with dessert/tea/coffee as most people want to on an evening out to socialise with friends and family. Terribly rude inconsiderate people working here. Standard food, not worth it. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

5* for food and service, but sadly Zaytoon refused to serve us tap water and then charged £5.50 for one bottle of water. When my friend asked about this, they explained that they need to make a significant profit on every single item, including water. Really incongruous with their general vibe, kindness, generosity, and food pricing, and left a bad taste. Profiteering off water isn't appropriate and one of our friends wasn't even able to afford it at all.

The food is excellent no doubt, lovely ambience too. However was put off by smaller things, like we were told we cannot have tap water and were asked to buy a bottle of mineral water. Also service was slow and slightly confused. The plate of Baklava was very disappointing.

Being new to London I decided to explore the area and came across Zeytoon by chance. I popped in with my friend and we ordered a large variety of items including: - Kobedah - chicken joujeh - Khashk bademjan Whilst the majority of the food was OK (not good by any means) one particular dish stood out as really bad, this was the Kashk Badmenjan. I believe that the Kashk that was used had gone off as it tasted like very very badly gone off milk and had small specs of green (mould?) in it. Now I am of Persian descent so I know my Afghani cuisine very well, Kashk can taste slightly sour as it is fermented but this was completely different, it was actually gone off. After speaking to the waitress (who was very polite I must admit) she agreed that something wasn't right and took it away which confirmed my initial thoughts. The rest of the food was OK but felt it lacked a lot of the care an attention that Afghani people pride themselves on. The dishes were a mixture of lukewarm and cold and I felt that the rice had been reheated as it had a dry and stale taste. The Mantoo was quite bland and didn't really have any flavour that popped (it was also covered in the rotten Kashk unfortunately). The grills kobedah and chicken) were quite dry and did not really amaze either of us. Overall I would say that this restaurant has a lot of potential but it feels like they are cutting corners at every chance they get. To the owners, please take some more care into your food. Perhaps try to visit Ariana across the road as their food is honestly of much higher standard and quality. The restaurant is very clean and well presented, I cannot complain about any of the staff as they were all polite, well dressed and took care of us. Shame because this place has potential. Thank you.
