I came into Cafe Abuja because I normally enjoy the food. Well tonight was a disaster. I not only waited over an hour for my order (expected), but they tell me no Nkwobi to yes we got enough for 3 orders. I only needed two. I waited for this rationing of what looks like cow ears mixed with gizzards. Bad business😡 why lie to take ppl money for nothing. Before anyone says anything no I didn’t look inside the bag before I left bc the wait was already long enough. I figured good business people would do right. I guess not. They got paid but I didn’t get what I paid for. That $47.64 for the Nkwobi will be the last. Thanks for nothing. The sad part about the entire situation was the owners were there and assisting in this terrible service.

It was really nice. Reminded me of Nigeria. The Abacha tasted so good too

Love the puff puff here. They also have a large selection of Nigerian beers (Star and Trophy)

I’m very disappointed. After waiting one hour to receive my order, my bowl of bitterleaf soup was full of oil. There was very little soup. Also, my beef was extremely tough. I’m very familiar with Nigerian food. I know what is decent and what is rubbish. A total waste of $98.00.

Me and my husband first experience trying this restaurant. He got the oxtails and wasn’t satisfied with them. I tried the fufu, agusi soup, etc. We had great things about this place. The customer service was great! However he spent $69 total for everything and just wasn’t happy with the food. But somethings just doesn’t workout for some. I was very disappointed cause I was excited about trying the fufu and the soup. But just didn’t not like it at all. I thought sure I were going To love it. Another thing we spent $20.99 for the oxtail dinner that my husband had gotten. Sad to say, but it was nowhere near worth the price at all. I just have to be very honest. Well Still wish this establishment the best! Just didn’t work for us. Thanks 😊

1st timer. I've been to plenty of Nigeria restaurants. The food here was just ok. Pricey, I will add. Nice clean environment. Will likely not travel 50 mins to come again.

This restaurant is amazing. The food was soooo good. I got the jollof rice with chicken and plantains and the suya appetizer. Everything was really good, especially the plantains and the stew for the chicken. Also, the staff was very friendly and they had some really smooth afrobeats playing. I will be back to try out other items on the menu. Definitely recommend this restaurant. You won’t be disappointed!

I bought a few plates of food here a few times. One thing I do not like is the way the workers turn the screen at you when you place an order for a * TAKE OUT* (not DINE -IN*) and then ask you how much you want to TIP them. It is so so rude. Tips are NOT to be demanded from customers. Customers will give it to you if they want to and if you *deserve* it. It leaves you with an uneasy feeling about how your food is being prepared. Not good. Pls advise your staff on this. It is embarrassing. That said they do have good Meat Pies/ Scotch Eggs/ Puff Puff but I can’t say the same about their meals.

The restaurant was alright with the choice of appetizers that I choice to eat the restaurant this day. The rest of the customer service was not great at all. There were out of inventory and stock for a lot of items like alcohol, non alcoholic, and soft drink items. The majority of my friends foods were burnt and excessively saturated in oil rather than the food items itself. In addition, the staff turned the lights on and off while we were still in the place of business eating our food and in addition added gratuity to a tip when we only a group of 4 where the groups are 6 people or more. I asked if the receipt could be corrected, but the staff didn't want to, so we requested for the manager. The manager did readjust the receipts for all of us and I thank him. I am not returning to the restaurant nor recommend the restaurant to attend unless the manager is there in person. Also, the reason this review is only 2 stars is because I had no issues with the food, but the overall customer service was terrible.

Very good food. If you want to taste west african (mostly nigerian) dishes this is the place to go. But..... MY LORD do you have to wait YEARS for your order. I think the dinosaurs would somehow make a return before you get your food. Thats their biggest issue.

I came to Cafe Abuja to eat with my family on Saturday it was very busy but the food came out on time and the presentation of the dish was spectacular the customer service was great they let us know what was out of stock beforehand I love the vibe of the restaurant they had afrobeats playing in the background it was amazing it reminded me of home. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if I could give more than 5 stars I would my family and I will be returning.

Small, intimate restaurant. I got the oxtails and joloff rice. Flavorful, but oxtails were tough. The rice was ok, but you could taste the scorching from the pot. Server insisted on a tip, which was a bit rude. Maybe give another try with.different entree.

Today, we decided to throw a party for a colleague of mine and they all requested for Jollof rice. This is my first time buying from this restaurant. The rice was very hard to chew and burnt. I was so disappointed. I am NEVER buying from here again.🚶‍♀️

Came to this place at the suggestion of a friend and I was unpleasantly surprised. This was my first experience trying Cafe Abuja and it’ll definitely be my last. I ordered the jollof rice, Banga soup with the pounded yam, and goat. And everything was disgusting. It took most of my table almost 30 minutes to get our drinks, which were bottled water. Then we waited almost an hour for food to be sadly disappointed. The goat was not tender at all, extremely chewy. It honestly felt like I was chewing rubber, the soup was disgusting as well. The only thing that was halfway decent, was the Jollof rice. To add to that, we were charged gratuity that we were never advised that we would be. When we were closing out our checks, it got so bad that the owner had to come and manually fix everything. It was a nightmare and not worth me coming back. Service was not good either.

What happened? I used to frequent this restaurant when they opened and they were amazing food and customer service . However my recent experience was very poor and knowing the expectations of the owner Tiffany I’m just disappointed. I was on hold for 15 mins to place to go order. By the time someone came back to the line I was already at the restaurant to order in person. While waiting I had no issues but I should have checked my bag because I got the completely wrong order. I ordered 2 orders of the tilapia pepper soup and received chicken instead for both orders. My food was cold and the amount of white rice provided with the meal was so little it was laughable. For the amount paid I expect better.

I had a fish pie and Orijin beer. It was DELICIOUS! I ordered a second pie made with chicken and it was also delicious! Im not sure about the rest of the menu, but the pies and beer are incredible! The menu prices are on the high side. Expect to pay $20 or more for lunch. I did not try any of the other plates, but if they are as good as the pies, then you will not be disappointed. Also, they play cool music !

I love that the jollof rice was party jollof rice. The snail was soft. The oxtails was not hard. The sauce tasted amazingly delicious! I'll definitely come back.

We arrived at around 6:50 pm, and I guess the servers weren't expecting customers that late or something, but customer service was horrible. The tilapia pepper soup was great. We also ordered Cameron grilled tilapia, but we received fried tilapia that was not properly seasoned. I loved the stew that came with the Camerron fish, but the waitress should have asked how spicy we wanted it because that stew was the definition of "Pepper." I will go back for the restaurant atmosphere itself but probably on a weekend or better order takeout.

Among the top when it comes to food. The food is 100% good. The atmosphere is perfect. But they need to be fast when serving. I will there Again.

Good authentic Nigerian food in a casual space. I have never dined in but regularly get carry out and catering sized trays when I’m in a pinch with a house full of college kids. I highly recommend for convenience and good quality food.

Cafe Abuja is hands down the best Nigerian restaurant I’ve been to in Houston. In fact, in Texas as a whole. The food is authentic and service is impeccable. You should definitely go there once you read this. You won’t regret it!

I visited this location with my 2 kids and husband. Both my kids meals was not what was ordered, they both was disappointed. We choose not to complain due to waiting a long time for the food to arrive, we had other things to do and my kids was already getting impatient. Overall the food was good. I always give places 2 times before I avoid them. I plan on visiting again with only myself and my husband.

I heard about the restaurant from a college all Nigerian group. I had to visit with my college buddies for our reunion. The servers were so nice. They were really informed about the Nigerian culture. The food was out of this world. If this is really how Nigerian food taste I might get a Nigerian wife😉😂. 5 stars and thumbs up. see y’all soon

I called to order food. I drove 1 hour to get to the store. After arriving at the store, I was told they couldn’t sell me the food. This store is very unprofessional. I will never go to this store again. I don’t recommend this store. The food is good, but the best ability is availability, and if they accept an order, they should honor it. I can cook my own food.

This place is just ok. Upon arrival me and a friend were greeted and seated promptly. The waitress was nice but she wasn’t attentive AT ALL. The food was meh. They shouldn’t call it “soup” when it’s really just grease, a bowl of grease. LITERALLY everything I ordered was floating in oil. I could’ve gotten a much tastier cuisine for 70.00. First time, and the last

Among all the Nigerian restaurants in Houston that I have visited, I rate Cafe Abuja as number one in providing the best customer service experience. Susan, our waitress was on top of it! I recommend it, strongly.

This was my first time having Nigerian food and it was a good experience. The restaurant was nice and the customer service was very good. I really liked the chicken legs that came with the soup and everything was good overall.

The food was not satisfactory. I ordered pounded yam with egusi and goat meat. I got something different. The food took a long time to come out, and it was warmed. The egusi tasted so bad (no salt), showing it had been made days ago. The meat was so terrible. I ordered ofada rice as to-go, but the ofada rice was white rice, and the sauce tasted different. This is one of the worst foods I have eaten in a long time. Please, the management should improve the quality of the soup in particular. I am not impressed with the food at all.
