The
new
Mezes
is
beautiful
-
spacious,
modern
classic,
clean
lines,
and
lots
of
light.
Definite
bonus
points
for
the
look
and
feel
of
the
place.
Now
on
to
the
food.
Stopped
by
for
lunch
and
got:
-
Kalamari:
Easily
the
best
fried
kalamari
in
Greektown.
Kalamari
was
sweet
and
not
rubbery,
batter
was
light
and
tasty
on
its
own.
-
Small
Kria
Poikilia:
Dips
galore!
Got
the
tzatziki,
taramosalata,
melitzanosalata
and
tappenade.
All
were
smooth
and
tasty,
and
liked
all
of
them
except
for
the
taramosalata
(tasted
almost
potato-y
to
me).
-
Aegean
Fare
Special:
Beef
slivers
and
chicken
chunks
were
tender
and
flavourful.
Side
Greek
salad
was
a
good
size.
-
Greek
Yogurt:
Smooth
and
properly
sour.
Generous
with
the
walnuts.
-
Chocolate
Fig
Baklava:
Easily
the
best
baklava
I've
had
even
if
it
is
unit
traditional.
The
chocolate
and
fig
spread
went
perfectly
with
the
walnuts
and
pastry.
Service
was
friendly
and
efficient.
Prices
were
reasonable
and
relatively
on
par
with
the
rest
of
the
street.
And
again,
that
beautiful
new
space.
Mezes
is
a
good
spot
even
amidst
the
crowd
of
Greek
restaurants
in
the
area.
