📍: NATIONAL MOSQUE ABUJA • Growing up in the Buj, I’ve always been so fascinated by the architectural work of art that is THE NATIONAL MOSQUE. Every time we drove by I wondered how beautiful it would look on the inside of it looked this beautiful from outside 🥺 I was so excited to finally visit and I must say, it is a work of art. • The mosque was built in 1984 and is open to the non-Muslim public, except during congregational prayers. • Note: dress decently and cover up before visiting. • 📍: 1012 Sani Abacha Way, Central Business Dis 900103, Abuja

Abuja National Mosque is a place of worship but as a national edifice, it’s not only limited to muslims. As a Nigerian, you can visit the National mosque. I visited as a tourist and it was an awesome experience. I visited on a Friday which isn’t the best day to visit but I was still shown around. The first thing to do when you visit, is to let the security officials know you are a tourist and would love to tour the premises. I was directed to the administrative office where I met the person in charge who also doubles as a tour guide. Inform them if you’d like someone to show you around the mosque. I did. He mentioned that the best time of the day to visit are times outside the Muslim’s prayer times. You can visit around 8:00am to 1:00pm, 2:00pm to 3:0pm, and 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Do not visit on National Celebration days like Democracy or Independence day as the security will be tight and you may not be granted access. After you make your intentions known at the administrative office, you can then take photos within or outside the premises. In all, I enjoyed the tour.

The National Mosque, located in Abuja, Nigeria, is an impressive architectural and cultural landmark that is worth a visit. The mosque, which was completed in 2009, is one of the largest mosques in Africa and can accommodate up to 15,000 worshippers at once. The design of the mosque is striking, featuring a mix of modern and traditional elements. The central dome is surrounded by four minarets, and the interior is adorned with intricate designs and calligraphy. Visitors are welcome to explore the mosque, although it's important to dress modestly and remove your shoes before entering. The mosque is a peaceful and serene place, and it's easy to spend an hour or two admiring the architecture and soaking up the atmosphere. While the National Mosque is a religious site, it's also a cultural landmark that provides an insight into Islam in Nigeria. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and they are happy to answer any questions you might have about the mosque and Islam in general. Overall, the National Mosque is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Abuja. Its stunning architecture, peaceful atmosphere, and cultural significance make it a truly unique and unforgettable experience.

A fantastic Muslims' worship and learning center, and also serves as a community center for many Islamic compliant activities; it's also a great place to discover Islam. I've been enjoying the National Mosque's serenity, tranquility and convince for more than 3 decades. I recommend anyone (Muslims and non-Muslims alike) to visit and enjoy the values of Islam, worship, learning and interactions.

Located in the city centre, the mosque is huge and is sometimes referred to as the National mosque. The structure is huge and the dome is gold platted facilities glistering the city. Jumaat prayers are observed here on Friday for all Muslim faithfuls and other daily prayers. There is a large parking space and the mosque is large to accommodate many worshipers.

The Abuja National Mosque, also known as the Nigerian National Mosque, is the national mosque of Nigeria, a country with a substantial Muslim population. The history of the mosque began in the eighties, when it was decided to move the capital of Nigeria from Lagos to Abuja. In 1981 a group of prominent local Muslims decided to request the construction of a national mosque and to contribute to the project with donations. The construction work was entrusted to the AIM Consultants Ltd and ended in 1984. The four minarets are high about 120 meters, while the large central dome is 60 meters. The building includes a library and a conference room. The complex also includes a conference center able to serve five hundred people, the office of the Islamic Center and the residential facilities for imams and muezzins. The mosque is located in the Independence Avenue, in front of the National Church of Nigeria.

Magnificent architecture 😍 We had our personal tour guide, he was courteous and polite. Women may have to wear extra clothing (hijab) if not Muslim. It also has a mall on the side. I was opportuned to walk in but they were renovating so I couldn’t capture as much.

For a Moment, a movement took me to a monument. It was good for my mental health. And speaking of wealth, you can have it here. As I pass by, I buy the idea of taking super shots under the hot sun, and I am still a son of the soil. Allahu Akbar!

The mosque is located in the capital city, Abuja, and is situated on Independence Avenue, across from the National Christian Centre.[3] It includes a library and a conference room.[1] The complex includes a conference centre capable of serving five hundred persons, the office for the Islamic Centre, and residential facilities for the imam and muezzin. During construction, the general contractors were Lodigiani Nigeria Ltd., while design consultancy was provided by AIM Consultants Ltd.

The Masjid (National Mosque) is an architectural masterpiece and monumental cultural landmark in the city of Abuja. Located strategically within Abuja's central district, Independence Avenue, one can't miss it. It has 2 domes, 4 minarets, and its main entrance is adorned with Arabic/Quran calligraphy. The masjid has adequate parking spaces and conference halls , it also has a shopping mall where one could shop for islamic items, books, clothing and food. Place is neatly kept and open to all, including non- Muslims. However, ladies are advised to modestly cover up during the visit.

Been here several times on different occasions.... The pictures below are from a school's end of the year ceremony held at the conference Hall of the Abuja National Mosque. The hall is spacious with beautiful and comfortable chairs. The Halls can be booked for weddings, graduations, lectures etc that are not going to contradict Islamic doctrines

Apart from being a worship place, you can also get good oil perfumes, nice Rugs, materials for making clothes just to mention a few. And if you're a lady please try getting a head tie because you won't go in without one. But if by any chance you do, you might see one of ladies who work there and they might provide a head tie.

I gave this five stars because it is a large mosque and many people attend Friday prayers and a good number of people attend the remaining prayers especially Maghrib and Isha. You feel wonderful praying in such a large mosque because you feel how small you are and this increases your awareness of the Almighty. It also has a small shopping mall where you can get things like Islamic books, perfume, some fabric and so on. I also saw a mosque clinic there but the clinic was closed when I went. Muslim funeral prayers as well as facilities for washing Muslims that have passed away are available. Even non-muslims seeking to know more about Islam can visit.

What a beautiful landmark design with lots of history of Architecture features. The circulation between the ablution points and the pray area is not bad. The dome is is well is providing enough lighting during the day. All the openings are well designed.

It's considered one of the monuments in Abuja. It's the Muslims' most popular place of worship in Abuja. The five daily prayers are observed as well as the Juma'at prayer. Many dignitaries pray in the mosque. It has many ablution spots and conveniences. There is also a mall around the premises.

The Abuja National Mosque is the most recognizable religious building in the city, attracting a huge number of visitors every year. For many Muslims who live in the city, this building is a very important spiritual center. Unlike most mosques in the world, not only Muslims can enter the Abuja mosque, the entrance to the public is closed only during prayer. The construction of the Abuja Mosque was completed in 1984. At the corners of the main building there are four minarets with spiral staircases inside, the height of which is 120 meters.

The Abuja National Mosque is a large worship centre. I go there every Friday to pray Jumu'ah. It's a gigantic structure, standing tall in the earth of Abuja.
