I had my wedding at the Bedford last weekend. I cannot recommend them enough. The staff team, particularly Rory, really went the extra mile to make sure that our day was perfect. The club room was ideal for our ceremony and the ballroom seated all our guests wonderfully. Everyone has told us how perfect the venue was and I have to agree.

A super place, The Bedford is relaxed whilst sophisticated and offering most things to most men. Pub, hotel, entertainment venue, eatery. It is wonderful. The staff are lovely and the beer is excellent. Most enjoyable!

Can’t believe I still haven’t given this a review given that it’s the local! Absolutely love the Bedford and come here at least once a week for a pint but this is only the 2nd time I have come for dinner (half price Tuesdays!) and wow the service and quality of food has really improved. We got a couple of appetisers and then mains and everything was super tasty! Favourite dish of the evening was the beef and Guinness pie - so so good! PS: Only complaint with the pub is that the bartenders and servers are always changing so as a local can’t get to know them 😬😬

Went for a quick lunch on market shopping tour and surprise, enjoyed a 50% off promotion on the meals due every Tuesday., cutting down the Cheeseburger to £7 (!!) . The Burger (Cheese & Fried Chicken) were still perfectly fine and in generous portions. A clear "go" for the Bedford.

The Bedford hosted our wedding on the 1st of October and we cannot thank them enough for making it such a special day. Every detail was organised and managed perfectly. They brought to life everything we had envisioned. Our friends and family have been raving about the delicious meal and the huge pizzas that were brought out later in the evening. The drinks were flowing, everything went so smoothly and we had a fantastic time. Thank you so much to Becky and Anne (and formerly the lovely Rory) for pulling it off so perfectly.

Visit for the comedy night with group of friends. Venue for the show is at the back and quite cost but not cramped. Some of our friends had food prior and said it was very good. The show was excellent with west end quality comedians. After the show the room becomes a dance floor. Overall a really great night , the only downside is the main pub / bar area which gets quite crowded and loud but this is to be expected given it was a Saturday night.

Visited this venue to see Ann Cusack Sings the Blues. Had a great night out. Service was excellent too. Never ate here, hope to do so next time.

I cannot rate the Bedford more highly or the staff with more warmth. The place is a landmark to SW London. I have taught 3 yoga classes a week in the ballroom now for a few years and have always been so warmly welcomed and looked after. Everyone who works at the Bedford shares the same interest in ensuring that each visitor leaves with a very pleasant experience of the venue. The food is great and the menus varied. I LOVE IT!

Went few times for food and drinks and I had great time, food was a bit pricey (or the portion a bit small) but almost always very good. Cannot fault the drink department as you are spoiled with choices. I’ll definitely be back for a gig, I have high expectations! Edit: and I did it, went back for a good night of live music and it was superb, great artists, a big pizza and a lot of fun, not to be missed.

Lovely venue & location. Nice rooms. Very good positives. Lighting in the bathroom not strong enough to shave or do makeup (wife's comment!) Party scene finishes at 2pm so leave your sleeping until later. Super service.Pub is lovely. Definitely would stay again all things considered

Fantastic pub. Good beer on hand pump..food is surprisingly good and then the live music and comedy is fantastic all in a really good side "room". Very very close to Balham station and underground too.

The venue is nice. As in a typical English pub, you order at the counter. I had lamb, the meat was nicely cooked and tasted good. The giant tabuleh couscous on the side was neither tabuleh nor couscous and it was overcooked. The sweet potatoes chips were not good, not crispy. The sirloin was good. The place wasn't so busy and the waiters were nice but we had to ask for fork and knife that they forgot and salt and olive oil.

Love the food here. Been a few times for dinner. Beautiful dinning room with sleek retro feel. Mum had beef pie other night and didn't stop raving about it! Portions are great, I always miss out on dessert 😂

Really good pub, it does it all! Decent food, great night out. I’ve never had a bad vibe there - comparatively priced for the area.

Fun spot. Went for a friend’s birthday and the DJ was playing great throwback tunes from early 2000s to present. Drinks turnaround at the bar was fast too.

Really enjoyed the Bedford, felt a trendy modern pub with great food and service! Wednesday nights have a 2 Steaks + Wine for £40 which is great value and food! The wine was good too! The french toast panettone wasn't a great dessert, but we also had the creme brûlée which was great so great for that!

The Bedford hosted our Alex Halley charity ball last month in the ballroom and we couldn’t have asked for a better evening. Becky and Anne were brilliant at keeping us informed and helping make the night a success. Thank you to all the staff who worked the event, from the food to the service - it was simply amazing and all the guests had a wonderful time! We couldn’t recommend The Bedford enough!

As locals, we eat regularly at the Bedford and always enjoy the friendly atmosphere. The recent menu change is a winner and the food is delicious - especially the sirloin steak. However, we always find the servers are slow to provide the bill and even longer to take payment. We often wait 30-45 mins after finishing eating. Without this, our experience would be top notch.

Best value for money, most gorgeous steak in London: the sweet potato fries swap, a personal favourite. Wipe your sticky tables guys - otherwise a relaxed, choice venue.

Love this pub go fairly regularly (3/4 times a year) have had sit down dinner which was lovely and last time I went a couple of weeks ago was for the banana cabaret (comedy) - food was great got served in there which is so handy, acts were brilliant and pub was nice and warm!

We went to this pub for a comedy night - the comedy was fantastic and well worth it! I'd recommend the comedy. The food was lovely too! The main let down was the service at the bar. 10min wait each time you want a drink. But I would definitely go back!

We had our wedding at The Bedford a couple of weeks ago and could not recommend it highly enough as a venue. The Bedford team (particularly Anne and Becky) were so helpful and patient with us in the run up to our big day, helped bring our vision to life and really went above and beyond to make sure that everything ran smoothly on the day itself! Our friends and family have been raving about what a fantastic venue it is. We had the most amazing day and are so glad that we chose The Bedford. We cannot thank the team enough!

Lovely pub, nice selection of drinks and the food is good. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The Swing Dance classes on a Tuesday are also absolutely brilliant, would highly recommend! The venue is lovely as well, great aesthetic and lovely indoor and outdoor seating.

The hotel rooms are really cute and pretty but our bathroom was not properly cleaned upon our arrival. The toilet was not cleaned and a towel from the prior guest was still hanging on the bathroom door. Other than that the staff was friendly and the comedy show was 10/10. Keep in mind this is a bar with late opening times so if thats not your thing you might wanna stay somewhere else.

Terrible Christmas Dinner, will never go back. Don't waste your money. What was advertised/on the menu was not what we got! No vegetables roasted, boiled only. Cold food, my mum sent hers back and asked for it to be warmed. They came back 1 minute later with the same plate! Hard, cold Christmas pudding with squirty cream draped in cranberry sauce??? Awful!! So disappointing. Also no Christmas feel, table was chipped and we were squashed in like sardines. Won't go back for sure!

We attended a tango event in the upstairs room. The atmosphere was magical and really good value. The bar downstairs has great beer, including some interesting ales and the staff were super friendly. I totally recommend this place, it's a terrific, traditional pub, which really serves the community. These sorts of places are not easy to find these days, please support them.

Very busy so definitely book ahead. We shared pizza and sweet potato fries, both were average. Quite short staffed so we waited a long time to get a drink. Nice decor and ambiance, especially in the front part of the pub.

Best pub in London. - Great food. The camembert is unreal. Good pub grub and a decent roast. - Friendly staff and good service. - Lots of events.

One of the formative pubs of the London Comedy scene. Big old boozer, famous for the Balham Poisoner case. Good range of beers, friendly staff and you can see some of the comedians who've worked here in the picture
