**Free on Tuesdays! One of my favorite museums in the city. There was a lot of things to see during Dia de Los Muertos. Some Catarinas along with some of what I assumed was the permanent exhibitions.

Beautiful museum where we can delight with the collection of Franz Mayer, my favorite part was the room with furniture of many places around the world. The museum is fascinating also because its architecture, is really beautiful, I loved the fountain and that green area is actually very relaxing.

An incredibly relaxing and fun way to spend an afternoon in Centro Historico. We were able to walk in and buy tickets immediately upon arrival. Have wanted to visit Museo Franz Mayer for some time now and it did not disappoint - the current temporary exhibition which is made up of a collective of female artists is absolutely gorgeous and a feast for the eyes. The permanent exhibitions are well preserved and thoughtfully put together. Would definitely recommend checking out this museum. Also, the museum has free entry on Tuesday's!

The architecture of the place is very interesting and beautiful. But the permanent exhibition is quite boring.

Small museum with a cozy and relaxed cafe in a beautiful cloisters patio of very old colonial building. It always has small interesting exhibits. It is one of my favourite museums in cdmx, an island of peace isolated from the chaotic city center.

Unique in places, familiar in others, this museum was well worth the price of admission. They had a very unique and interactive virtual Notre Dame temporary exhibit and the grounds of the building are even impressive enough for a visit. They also have a nice little café inside in the central courtyard with a fountain which is a grand place to relax for a bit on a sunny day. Franz Meyer was an avid collector and had the money for such an expensive hobby due to his success as a stockbroker. Glad that they turned it into something educational like this museum.

The museum is incredible, they are 2 temporal expositions and one is permanent. Historic, silver and paintings are available. The central patio is awesome and beautiful. In my case there are an exposition of Notre Dame, it is an immersive experience. The place counts with a antique library and a cafe. I recommend this place.

All exhibit descriptions need to be in English, the intelligent unity language in our world ! Peaceful courtyard with singing birds.

Went to the see the Steve McCurry icons gallery, strongly recommend, the only problem is that the internet signal is weak and sometimes does not allow to listen to the audio guide recording through your cell phone.

Marked decline since I visited this museum pre Covid. The Steve Mccurrey show was packed to dangerous levels. This is no way to enjoy an exhibition, not to mention is neither safe for the people attending nor the art being displayed. Despite having timed tickets they made us wait in the rain for 10 minutes beyond our scheduled time. They were completely unorganized. And despite paying a whopping 200 pesos per ticket you couldn’t enjoy the rest of the museum and had staff ask for tickets in a completely random way. May I reminder you that as an art institution your primary objective should be to protect the art displayed and to provide a pleasant environment for visitors to enjoy such art. You failed at both of these in my opinion.

Usually visit it once a year for the World Press Photo exhibition and it’s never let me down in terms of queues, attention and maintenance. The temporary exhibits are interesting most of the time, and the permanent ones, which include a lovely bunch of colonial chests, stunning religious paintings and elegant vases, are also worth a look. My only complaint would be that the gift shop is ridiculously expensive but then again that is the case with many museums.

Beautiful small museum. A real oasis near downtown CDMX. There was a gorgeous poster exhibition when we visited in the courtyard. Great place to take a break.

I was looking the Diego mural for so long and found it here! Very happy to read about the history and see it for the first time. I really recommend going. It was about 30pesos or something like that so its definately worth going even if your on a really tight budget. The museum and art scene in mexico city is so amazing and there is so much to see!

One of the best interior courtyards in Mexico City. Only $0.50 to visit, museum entry is extra.

The Frank Meyer private collection regular museum is free. It is an impressive exhibition for a private collection. The art collections are mainly on silver and gold art works. If you like silver and gold, this is the place for you.

I went to see the McCurry exhibit which was incredible. I also enjoyed the other powerful photo exhibits. The building itself is impressive and pleasant to wander thru. I wish more if the Lechuga permanent collection had been on display, especially her photography.

Great museum, but without any signages and exhibit info in English. Would have been much more enjoyable had they had some.

Wonderful collection on design and decorative arts. The permanent collection is well-organized, with an old library for research. Special exhibition space large and airy. Beautiful courtyard to relax with a cafe. In the middle of downtown next to the famous park.

Incredible personal collection of art, furniture, and objects of design. From pre Columbian to modern, all pieces expertly selected. All descriptions are in Spanish. Google Translate to the rescue, if needed.

I came for the World press photo awards, which were a bit of a letdown. Couldn't understand why this year's fotos were chosen by the jury. Presentation of the works was not too well done. However, the Franz Mayer museum was a positive surprise! Stunning building, beautiful courtyard with café, collection is extremely well put in place. Wish they had a audio guide or something similar.

Excellent museum, if you are in the Centro Historico in CDMX, is a personal collection but very diverse pieces that gives an unique understanding of different periods of Mexican art. The ceramic, silver objects and the masks areas are my favorite. After you are done you can relax at the cafe before you go out and keep finding more things to learn about CDMX.

Need intellectual stimulation and a place to rewind and escape from the craziness of the largest city in the Americas? Come here. English and Spanish, and fascinating geographical material that may take up to three hours to thoroughly sift through. I went in less cultured, came out more cultured. On another note; I hope my friend received my postcard I bought from here.
