It is an amazing exhibition inside. Many valuable expositions are simply put on the display with no security. You can touch, feel, take a picture, enjoy, and review all of them.

Best time in the college. Friendly staff, and I was amazed to hear from them that the professors of different disciplines would leverage art to embody ingenuity in these young souls.

Many museums to visit in the Berkshires, make sure this is one pf your stops. A small, multi-level museum full of classical and contemporary art international and American art. A jewel waiting for you to find it. Free admission and a fun gift shop.

Great art museum with some really inspiration exhibits. Such a great campus to walk around. The eye sculptures near museum of art were my favorite. Also the art museum was free but always trying to make little donation if you could! Check out if in area!

Well, wanted to check this place out with my son. Too bad this stupidity exists.

I joined a tour and talk by the artist describing her process and the decisions that were made jointly with collaboration with staff. Her independence and her skill was invigorating and inspiring. I was awed by her display of artifacts.

Never disappoints. Went for the Tibetan special exhibit. Particularly loved the double-sided banner portraits hanging above of some of the artists. Beautiful and thought-provoking.

Fun but the Williams college art museum has much better art in storage. You should bring some of it out dedicate a room to traditional modern art.

The eyeball statues outside are very interesting, but there are better museums in the area

  • 5/5 David U. 1 year ago on Google
Enlarged since my previous visit, has an excellent collection and interesting temporary exhibits. The collection is the kind a college museum can accumulate with a couple of centuries of rich, tasteful alumni donating art. First rate themed temporary exhibits.

A hidden gem of modern art and sculpture. The docents were well informed when queried. One note of caution - many steps to enter and maneuver in the museum. Free admission is also a plus.

  • 5/5 Rose M. 1 year ago on Google
Appreciate being able to see the collections with concise interpretation. Enjoyed

  • 4/5 Herb K. 1 year ago on Google
Nice college exhibits with a sprinkle of acquisitions from middle ages. Good displays and spacing. Free but you will want to drop something in the box on your way out.

  • 4/5 Sam U. 1 year ago on Google
A varied and interesting collection that has something to pique your fancy no matter what that might be, and admission is free. Not as big as Clark or Mass MOCA, but it's worth a trip!

  • 4/5 Ruth G. 1 year ago on Google
A small, but, interesting college museum in a very pretty college town. Fun, and less walking than the Clark.

  • 5/5 Brian G. 8 months ago on Google
Phenomenal museum. The layout 8s spectacular. The exhibits are outstanding. Highly recommend. Come see the Shared Waters exhibit.

  • 5/5 JP G. 1 year ago on Google
Great space to spend an hour. I approached friendly staff to view more of Wassily Kandinsky--a piece Williams loaned to Clark Art Inst on view in special exhibit--but was told none of his works on display. A highlight for me was the reading room of maybe 500 unrelated fic/non-fiction books-all topics. Some students from a Saratoga high school joined me to read (in silence!) for a few minutes--made my day.

I went to this museum last summer and was so happy I did. They mix old with new and abstract to impressionist. The professors write anecdotes from their syllabus' which are amazing and are applicable to their students studies.

  • 5/5 Faith M. 4 years ago on Google
Wonderful! They also change the galleries every few months, so it's a whole new museum every time I go!

College is small with a home town safe and sense of belonging and feeling. The campus buildings are ckean, well kept and filled with history and stories. Chapen Hall hosts one of the original drafts of the Declaration OF Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights as well as first edition novels by Frederick Douglas and Susan B Anthony.

  • 5/5 A S. 5 years ago on Google
It's a somewhat small but great museum. It always have interesting and thought provoking exhibits that change frequently enough to keep one coming back but not at a pace that prevents them from being widely seen and enjoyed. The staff is well learned, helpful, generally nice and inviting, and always willing to explain things. Also, the museum holds many talks and lectures on a wide variety of engaging topics.

👍👍 Legend has it Margaret used to hike the trails near the old campground on site. No one knew them better. One day, a sweltering day, she went for a swim and was never seen again. They say, on hot days you can feel her tickle your feet when your swimming.
