Lovely ambience, brilliant use of space and a beautiful architecture. I love the fact that plants were used to beautify the ambience makes you fall in love with the surrounding at first sight. Offers the option of indoor and outdoor eating. The food also tastes great, properly done and well prepared. You should try the Amala The staff are friendly and act in a very professional manner. Although, I've experienced a couple of mistakes done by the staff, it's negligible.

Awesome food and nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, staff didn't bring dishes at same time and one of us had to wait for his when the others already finished. Prices are fair 👌

It’s my second time here recently, they have this beautiful reddish fringe distraction by the entrance, ❤️ it . Customer service ✅, 😁famous Abula ✅.. it’s money well spent . Ambience is supercool, attendants were friendly and attentive . Price is modest too . The amala combo costs 9,500. In all , nice place to hang out with friends or just treat yourself.

Probably one of my favourite restaurants. Let’s start with the staff very friendly and welcoming. The day we dined was hot 🥵 but we wanted to soak up the sun and the staff gave us a warning to sit indoors we thought it can’t be that bad BUT halfway through our starter we moved inside where it was fully air conditioned. Food- amazing pan African fusion with a modern twist. There is a nice variety not everything is hot and spicy. I hope to visit again at night when the outdoor bar is open.

Amala! That was the plan for the evening and oh my, reality met expectations. We stopped by for dinner and ordered for Abula (Amala with gbegiri and ewedu soup plus assorted meat) -N 9,500 Myself on the other hand, ordered for jollof rice (N4,000) and tamarind glazed chicken wings (N7,500) Drinks: Elderflower mojito (N5,500) and Tamarind margarita (N8,000)

Ewedu soup with Amala was definitely my fav dish. It’s authentic to have that dish on the menu. It’s my first time having that dish in a restaurant. Great food, great menu, great ambiance and decor. I love this place. Definitely worth visiting for lunch and dinner. Chicken wings are ok. Not worth ordering. Staff were friendly and polite. FYI: the do close after lunch and reopen for dinner. Suya is only served at dinner times.

Quiet place to chill at night. Has both outdoors and indoor seating areas. Ambience has a native African vibe. The menu echoes similar vibes with mixture of intercontinental and local dishes. My friend had the seafood okro which looked good. I had the braised ribs with jasmine rice. The stew has a sweet aftertaste so it really shouldn't be paired with a sweet rice like jasmine because you get tired of it after a few mouthfuls. Cocktails were delightful. Overall, good place.

Nok was beautiful, the staffs were attentive. This includes the waitress, bartender and manager. The garden was beautiful (picturesque) I would rate the cocktails 8 out of 10, food 5 out of 10 it was my first time trying the meal so it wasn't to my taste. Lovely experience overall

Had an amazing experience here during sunday Brunch! Loved the tilapia, the beef abula was a bit spicy for me but so flavorful & the dessert was amazing! Best ice cream ive ever had. The refreshers too, im still thinking about them!!

Everything was perfect until the security officers started complaining about me taking pictures and how I should make it ‘minimal’ The food was a 7/10 for me, the stew was great but the rice was manageable. Staff: 7/10, apart from the person who came to tell use about the minimal thing 😂😂😂, the customer service was good. I had no issue whatsoever. Ambiance: 10/10. I think this is what they are known for, they really took their time in designing the place 😍😍😍

This place was a great experience. I went there in the afternoon and had some nice pounded yam and seafood okra. I enjoyed it. The portion is just about right. Its a little pricey, but that's what you expect from such a location. The ambience is great. The people are warm and courteous. The garden is great for pictures. I hear the Amala is flagship, but it wasn't available on Saturday, when I went. I recommend Kunu Aya.

Nok by Alara is aesthetically pleasing and some of their meals on point. There's a bar and restaurant. You have to make a reservation however because the place is small and to avoid being sent away, it's only wise to do so. I definitely won't mind going again

Very noisy and I had an issue with flies. I was indoors. The amala is very tasty but the portion doesn’t justify the price. It’s literally just yam flour why is it 8k?. Service was splendid.

I've been to NOK by Alara a few times over the years but never felt compelled to write a review because of how popular the restaurant is. This time however I had a serving of their famous Abula (Amala, Gbegiri, Stew and Assorted Meat) with a glass of Tropical Waters and my belly was settled. I was skeptical about whether the Amala lived up to the hype and I can confirm that it does. It's 9.5k for a plate, but unless you're totally famished, you will get your money's worth and your stomach will thank you. The ambience of the restaurant was nice and a definitely felt like one of the trendy people in Lagos when eating there. The staff were competent and helpful with a good sense of humor. Overall, I would definitely recommend NOK by Alara.

Decided to visit NOK after seeing other people's reviews. I saw a few menus on their website before arriving, so I was surprised that I could only order from 1 menu at the restaurant. It would be great if they clarified that on their pages beforehand. I couldn't order anything I really wanted to try with the menu I was given. I placed my order and was given some sweet potato crisps while waiting for the order. I ordered the goat rolls, spicy cornbread, tamarind wings, abula, and ordered oxtail hotpot for takeout. The goat rolls tasted great, but the portion could have been more,lol... it was 2 rolls halved. The price was 8,500 The tamaring glazed wings were alright. It was 7,500 The spicy cornbread was the best part for me overall. It was 2,500. The abula was generously portioned, and I was able to request beef instead of assorted meat. The taste was good and it was filling. The abula was 9,500. I ordered the oxtail hotpot to go, and I didn't enjoy it very much. It was very spicy and not really what I was expecting. Total spend for 2 was 52,500. Overall, it was a good experience.

An amazing experience! We were looked after from the moment we arrived till we left. Great customer service from the young staff - paying attention to every detail, helping us move tables without any fuss when we asked to be seated elsewhere, stepping up to clean our table, without us asking, when we spilt a drink etc. The African themed decor, warm lighting infusion of flora & fauna creates a calming & homely effect. We decided to go al fresco with our delicious looking Amala. The outdoor sitting area provided the same cosy feeling with the cool & gentle evening breeze ensuring the delicious abula went down a treat. The assorted meat was tender & delicious & the Amala light and easy on the throat. It’s not an inexpensive experience with the 9,500 naira tag for their abula but it’s very well made abula and if you throw in the ambience, customer service & crowd it is a worthwhile experience. Definitely recommend. p.s. loved the bowl the food was served in

Came here for the Abula (Amala, Gbegiri and Ewedu) and Nok did not disappoint! I know I'll be back soon as I've not been able to get the deliciousness out of my mind. The assorted meat that came with it literally fell off the bones. No struggle. Well cooked. The palm wine was equally a treat. Great customer service too.

Friendly staff, reasonably priced meals. I had Nigerian jollof rice ,Suya and their special cocktail. Cocktail was great but the jollof rice tasted very different from jollof rice and I couldn’t eat it, aside that there is a great traditional aesthetic decor you would love.

Nok by Alara houses a garden as well as an indoor restaurant. The place is quiet and calm with excellent customer service. And although their water is a bit pricey, their food isn't. And it is delicious too. Visiting requires a reservation either via email, phone, or a form on their website.

I had a nice time here with friends , it’s a nice and calm space , I prefer their outdoor sitting area when the sun isn’t hot. Service is nice , however can be improved. I find their cocktails over priced for what you eventually get served. Got a platter and I’ll say the grills where nice , properly seasoned and rightly done.

Beautiful architecture and space , but the wooden chair I sat on wasn’t the most comfortable. I got wings for starters, it wasn’t bad but I’ve had better. My main dish was absolutely delicious, I had Amala and Chapman.

We just loved our evening at NOK, everything was great: food selection, food taste, cocktails, staff friendly attitude and the atmosphere overall. We have chosen a table indoor, but the terrace was even more beautiful with the plants and lights. I realised once more that the places with a limited menu and specialized on a specific type of food( Nigerian in this case) have the best dishes taste and arrangements. There is still enough choise for everyone: for the people who loves spicy or don't, for meet lovers or fish lovers, etc. The only small minus would be that the cocktails are too sweet for my taste, but I just changed to the palm wine, and enjoyed further the time. The prices are quite expensive, however it worth the experience.

I frequent NOK & it’s my go-to when I’m craving amala. However, Abula is now 14,000 & I no longer feel full when I eat it. The portion size has significantly decreased and it’s a real shame because this is the most expensive Abula in the country and they’ve increased the price by 400% since 2020. If I’m paying 14k for amala, it needs to be enough. Return the portion sizes to its old glory please. Also, the service is generally poor. They need more waiters on the floor paying attention to guests. Even when the restaurant is empty, the service is still really bad. I go once a week so trust me. Cocktails, complimentary chips & dessert are delish! Ambience is also stellar. I think they need to work on their appetisers because everything I’ve tried has been a let down.

Loved what I ate here, drinks were also perfect the only downside was I waited over an hour for my food, and I was just a party of one. As I was waiting no complimentary snacks were served, though they were served to other tables. I think the service needs better organization.

NoK delivered a stellar dining experience! The culinary delights were a perfect fusion of flavors from all over Africa, the ambience exuded elegance, and the prices were quite reasonable for such a high-quality establishment. A must-try for those seeking a memorable dining venture.

Great place to hang out and lovely ambience. The only issue I had was what I ordered. I ordered okpa beans with plantain and yam(I think). It came in the small plate with everything in it. No taste and the sauce was just there. For the amount, it was quite small. Every other meal was great. I know I wont be ordering okpa beans ever again

Food is great, but a small dinning area I must say. If you're looking to get cozy & have some nice food with a blend of African inspired Arts & structural design the Nok is sure for you! But if you're looking for a big, lavish & exquisite/luxurious dinning experience I'm afraid the Nok is not for you.

Contemporary African restaurant. Fun spot with a quirky decor. The service is about average...some good days and some not so good. Menu offers a fusion of African and continental meals with an innovative twist. Meals are not cheap... quite pricey for the ‘gourmet’ portion. Reservations are best for Certain meals and just to be certain there are no events happening and the restaurant is open to the public. Got a disappointing ‘kitchen not open today to the public’ a couple of times

I like the ambience and minimalist decor. Love the live plants on the table. The serving style is also creative. If you want to eat Amala and abula that is speaking English. Go there. It was interesting to note that they have two opening times. Breakfast / brunch ends at 3pm. So don't go at this time expecting to eat rice. More like eggs, bread, pap and dapper akara. Lol. I had an interesting mix of fried eggs, suya and bread. Dinner starts at 6pm and that's when you get a range of African and inter continental dishes - snails, rice, fries etc. Sit outside and enjoy the scenery and while you're waiting for your meal. Visit the Alara concept store just to get inspired. Nice place to take pictures... Oh they have an hammock outside too.

One thing I loved were the waiters responses. They were so fast and respectful. The food was good. I loved The beef suya and The grilled plantain I ordered for. The drinks were delicious and amazing, the chicken soya was delicious even though I didnt get to enjoy it the way I wanted. We got there and we were told there was an event and we could only sit outdoors which was ok at first, but by the time our food came, we couldn't eat it in peace. They all know why. It was my first time, I told them I will come back to give them another chance to change my impression. The two male waiters were amazing, the first one who attended to us was knowledgeable about the food on the menu. The waiters asked me to come back for a second experience. After my second experience, I'll come back with an update.

Chose to dine in NOK last Saturday based on the great reviews I read on this platform. I must say the experience was decent enough. NOK coctail was spot on - I had 2 glasses. I love the architecture, both interior and exterior of this place. It felt familiar yet avant-garde. The ambience and space is flexible, can work for a friends’ night/day out and can also work for a romantic evening. The food was great & staff were really polite. I gave this place four stars instead of five because I’m not necessarily spending my nights dreaming about the meals I had there... but that’s really just a thing of personal preference. Regardless, the meals were well prepared, prompt and delicious, particularly dessert.

Review of my post below: I had received the 10k Naira refund unannounced this afternoon. I am grateful that the issue has been resolved albeit without communication from Nok by Alara. I have amended my rating as well to reflect the true standard of food and service received. NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN I had dinner at Nok on 06 October 2020. The food was good and the service good. The waiter sadly gave himself a 10k Naira tip. I brought this to the attention of the restaurant manager which promised to refund the 10k. In total the waiter received 13500 Naira on a 35k bill. The manager promised to refund after 2 weeks once the accountant has confirmed the payment. I sent a message on 21 October 2020 with my banking details. By 01/12/2020 I am still waiting for my refund. For the lack of customer service and refund I have to award less stars.

Really hospitable, friendly staff. The food is good and reasonably priced. The drinks were nice too. They put a great spin on African food and it plays out great. Food - 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambience - 4/5 Cost - 4/5

Good ambience but they made too many mistakes with us, first, they didn't take our reservation after assuring us of it, then they delayed serving us, however, they have good customer relation and their meals are delicious

It has an African vibe to it that you don't see everywhere. I only had drinks because the kitchen was closed when we got there but it was a dream. The design of the building is so aesthetically pleasing and it was just amazing being there.

Nok by Alara offers dine in, collection and delivery. The restaurant is beautiful adorned with nature's delight. It brings diners close to nature. The ambience is impeccable and conducive for having a good time with friends and family. Nok by Alara meals are affordable and tastefully delicious. The waitress are courteous and turn around time is also worthy of note. You can easily enjoy your meal from the garden or inside the restaurant... Their new African cuisine is also a delight to look out for.

Here for the signature Amala. Usually a 5 star for the meal.. not so much on this occasion. Perhaps Covid has had an impact on the kitchen staff. Still worth the trip.

This bowl of amala from @nokalara lives rent free in my head. 😩😍 ___________________________________________ ORDER * Goat roll - 4,500 * Abula with assorted meat- 5,500 * Oxtail hotpot with jasmine rice - 6,000 ___________________________________________ I’ve had amala and none comes close to this. What? It beats every spot I’ve had abula at. I’d say it’s the attention to details for me. The ewedu & gbegiri’s texture wasn’t watery, both had a thick consistency which was great for the watery red stew because it loosened up their consistency. In regards to the flavors of the stew & soup? Unmatched. Seasoned to perfection. NO ingredient overwhelmed the other. I also want to commend the chili content, it was at such a perfect balance, I knew it was there but it wasn’t overwhelming. The texture of the assorted meat - very tender, one chew & it literally melts in your mouth - Absolute bliss. ___________________________________________ GOAT ROLL. This was the starter. The roll itself was great. This was crispy on the out & tender on the inside, filled with ‘minced’ goat meat. Now the sauce it came with, was hot! spicy hot. Against the goat roll? 👌🏾 I only wished the flour layer wasn’t as thick as what was presented. ___________________________________________ OXTAIL HOTPOT WITH JASMINE RICE. Oxtail is just a boujee name for cow tail 😂. It was cooked in just chilli sauce which I was very much aware of upon ordering. I’d say there really could have been a balance against other ingredients aside from being really spicy because the flavors, seasoning this had was really shy in this sauce. Asides from the oxtail having more bones than meat, the meat was tender. I’d also say no matter how Yoruba you may be, you CANNOT finish this sauce, it’s really that spicy. ___________________________________________ I’d say their service was top notch, the waiter had clear knowledge of everything on the menu & was able to make suggestions. The cocktails were really good.

The waiters were polite. The ambience is really beautiful. The sea food okra I ate isn't the best I have had in Lagos, but I enjoyed it all the same. Ps; they do not serve eba at this restaurant.

Good food but a bit overpriced. Also the waitresses seem to want you to order asap, no time to take in the ambience

First 5 star rating fo a Lagos restaurant. The waiter assigned to me recommended everything I tried, from the drink to the main dish. Ambience was really good (went at night), and the food was great. If you don’t mind spending a little more for good food. I’ll definitely recommend for a romantic dinner (indoor) or a group hangout (outdoor)

I love the place! It is funny how their palmie (palmwine drink) "knocked my taste buds out". It was an amazing experience but I didn't enjoy the blackened catfish, it had an unusual taste. I couldn't go through with it. I would have rated them with 3 stars because of that but like I will always say, "you can only know when a business is customer focused/ oriented when there is an issue of dissatisfaction and they handle it perfectly well.

The view, ambience and settings of this place is exquisite. Love love the place and what they did with the space. Although, seemed like my friends and I went there on a bad day because we got very bad client Service. We waited over an hour for our meal, which was just abula. People who came after us got their orders in no time and the waiters kept giving us one excuse or the other till we got so angry and went to speak with another waiter who seemed like they would do something about the ineptitude the other one showed. Really bad experience that day, we were all so angry but stayed because we were hungry and tired from the stress we went through before we got there, and because we just wanted to eat Amala😩 When the food came, it calmed us because of how good it was, lol. Another surprise we got was that the menu prices on their website was totally different from what we saw, the excuse was that it hadn't been updated in years. So go there with some extra money after viewing the prices on the website. You're welcome ☺️ I'd love to go there again, I hope I get a better service because it's a loveable place

A solid 3.5 Decor - cute Service - Lacking Food - Taste, Quality and Value good Pacing - better than the average peer in this area but a tad slow for this price point. Would I recommend: Yes! Dish to try: Lobster App Can't miss: Yaji Shrimp Overrated: Plantain Beignets (the batter is too thick which holds more grease than it should. Nice thought but not executed while I didn't get how the sauce complimented the dish). Salad: don't sleep on the citrus avocado salad. It does not have Mayo based dressing. Hashtag: GRATEFUL I'll return for the shrimp yaji and the lobster dish that was not available. The oxtail, Jollof, jerk chicken were all seasoned well and had good flavor. Service was overwhelmed and I had to flag someone down. Utimately, the manager took our order but the handoff to a server showed she was exasperated. They need more servers or limit tables at peak hours. Aesthetics/Design are impressive and ot just for the IG crowd but for an intimate or adult night out .... It sets the tone/vibe. Curated very lovely. The menus need updating online and in person as the prices listed are not the same for all dishes. In summary, paid more than expected due to the errors.

Although they have a very limited menu, i like how they blend Africa(Nigeria) in their meals. Very well done and well trained staff. I dont quite get the art (pics) on the wall.. i got lost figuring out the theme.

Amazing African food from around the continent. Very tasty. Recommended but make sure you got good money in your purse. They’re not shy about the prices. Food and service is very good.

The ambience was great and service was good too. Food was also great for the most part (went with a group of friends and liked what others had chosen). I had the oxtail which was unfortunately more pepper than flavour. What I thought was odd though, we asked for extra bread (while we waited for our meal) and were charged for it - 1500 per roll. So be warned

😠 The ambience was good. Doesn't smell entirely like a kitchen (like her other outlets). They are more inclined to attend to their male customers before attending to females. I ordered for Abacha and assorted meat but it tasted really cold and the meat looked like they were pulled out of a pot of soup...
