Very beautiful and organised zoo. It is huge and one should visit it in the morning only to make sure it is explored properly. We went there late so were unable to visit each and every corner. It has different areas for different animals of various regions. The ticket is also affordable. There are multiple food courts in the zoo, so no need to worry about carrying food and water.

One of the BEST zoos I have ever visited! You need all day to see each section!! We thought a 3-4 hour would cover the zoo but this zoo is huge! Animals are in nice exhibits with foliage. Signs are in multiple languages. Bring Taiwanese change to make souvenir coins! Zoo has affordable and delicious food. It varies from section to section.

Taipei Zoo is a fantastic destination for a day of family fun! With a variety of animals to see, the zoo provides an exciting and educational experience. The Penguin House steals the show with its adorable penguins, swimming and waddling about. The zoo is well-maintained, and the staff is friendly, making it an enjoyable outing for visitors of all ages. From playful pandas to majestic lions, Taipei Zoo offers a delightful opportunity to connect with nature and wildlife. It’s an ideal spot for a relaxed day out in the heart of Taipei. 🐼🦁🐧

Worth a visit when in Taipei! Taipei Zoo is known to be the largest zoo in Asia, home to over 400 animal species featuring 7 indoor exhibits and 8 outdoor exhibit areas, and a children's zoo. There are some animal species we don't get to see in Singapore Zoo, such as gorillas, hippos, camels & koalas We alighted at the "Taipei Zoo South" Gondola Station and started the visit from  the North zone of the zoo. [Main entrance is actually at the South zone]. The zoo is so huge that we couldn't complete visiting all the zones. There's no tram service within the zoo compounds, so we managed to clock our steps for the day! A pity some of the enclosures were either under maintenance or the animals were not on exhibit, so we missed the pandas. Since this is a zoo of almost 110 years, some parts of the zoo might need some spruce up. Overall, it's a great place for families with children to spend a whole day here leisurely. We can't believe the ticket price is so affordable at NT60 (SGD 2.60) - a small fee to enjoy such a huge zoo!!

This place was amazing. One of the most beautiful Zoo’s I visited. It’s built within a forest so all the areas are natural looking which means the animals live in an environment close to home which made me happy. So many things to see here. It’s takes all day don’t think it can be walked within 3 hours as we originally thought. A must visit if in Taipei. Seeing the panda was the highlight. He was sleeping for ages but on the way out we 430 they were feeding him so everyone got a show. Don’t miss this. It was very special. There is a bus that goes around but we didn’t get it. I wish we had as my feet were sore. Please wear sensible shoes.

Tickets were very cheap - only a couple US dollars. And it's a big park with lots to see, so it's worth a visit. The location is convenient to get to by public transit. Tickets are purchased via automatic machine.

Wow so much fun! This zoo was a lot bigger than I had anticipated. Tons of exhibits and habitats for many different animals.saw multiple animals (tigers, gorilla, hippo and ape)! Great Zoo, great experience. It was absolutely worth the travel. As a zoo, they are pretty large and have quite a few nice exhibits even after all Covid has raviged everything. 很好玩~寧可用雙眼觀看也不願拍照,動物非常活潑~

We really enjoyed the zoo. Great place for children to have fun. Very hot as expected but plenty of shade. Displays and signs both in English and Mandarin make it easily navigable. It’s a spectacular zoo especially when considering the cost of entry.

Excellent zoo. We were there mainly for the koalas. There are actually 2 koala enclosures - the Koala House near the entrance, and an outdoor one near the African animals. Excellent facilities with plenty of toilets. Everything was clearly signposted. Animals seemed content and happy. Plenty of food options too. Take note that the park slopes uphill from the entrance. Gift shop was OK but lacked koala merchandise.

The zoo was indeed very big as advertised. Took us more than 3 hours to completely tour the entire zoo. Sadly, there were some animals not shown not sure why but maybe due to some issues. Tickets cost NT60 per adult and shuttle trains cost NT5 which you can pay using the easy card. Overall, it's a very nice and clean zoo and not to be missed!

Whilst walking around Quezon City 🇵🇭 today ... I discovered this tranquil inner city zoological & wildlife park Even thou Ninoy Aquino Park & Wildlife Centre does have limited fauna , nevertheless along with the scenic flora .... I still enjoyed my steady walk around - looking at the animals & the picturesque lake ( for now the fishing village closed ... due to coronavirus restrictions )

Best 60 TWD ($2) spent ever! Panda, red panda, brown bear, white rhinos are all here 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 I am so awe with those cuties. The zoo is clean, greenery, well organized and easy to navigate everywhere. I would spend my every weekend at this zoo, just breath the fresh air and develop connections with the nature and all animals here. 100% in love. Tips: best time to visit zoo around 10-11am, not too crowded and animals show up.i

Excellent experience. Kids had a blast. Only 60 NT per person and cheaper if you use your MRT card (40). Lots of places to get drinks and cool off. There are vending machines or convenience stores. The animals look well taken care of and my family enjoyed the animals very much.

Exhibitions: There are many different zones such as the African animals zone, Australian animal zone, insects zone and more! Overall, a great deal and variety of animals from different parts of world that can be rarely seen. The animals seem to have a good living environment as they have a large enclosure to live in compared to other zoos. However, this may also mean that sometimes the animals cannot/ hard to be seen Accessibility: There is a MRT station located next to the zoo. It takes approximately ~5-7 minutes to walk there from the station. Very convenient. Environment: Lots of greenery which truly makes you immersed into the 'wildlife'. There are also lots of sloops and chairs to sit on when tired! The environment is clean and well maintained. Payment methods: When buying the ticket to the zoo, as tourist, we mainly used cash. Tickets cost 60NT per person (no discounts for tourists) We were very tired after half our day spent there (so much walking!!)

Not kidding, this is my favourite place! This zoo is HUGE and I love it! Enjoyed walking around zoo and search for animals. Some animals were sleeping and covered by bushes, few resting higher than our eye level, so just have fun searching for them! Love how the zoo layout and design for all animals’ “cages”. If you didn’t get to find particular animal in their “cage” at the front view, you get to walk to the sides to search for them. I would suggest you to take their shuttle train from main station (near entrance) to bird station (almost the end of the zoo), then only you start visiting the zoo. MUST take photo of the map, and see which garden you would want to visit. You might not want to see all animals of you only plan to stay half a day there. Besides, get yourself mosquitoes repellent sticker or spray! Or you gonna be mosquitoes food bank 😆

You can buy tickets in advance via klook or kkday. Alternatively you buy at the door using the transport card. I did not manage to visit all places. Overall it is nice to stroll especially kids. There is a mini zoo called Children's zoo with koalas, Llamas, chickens, geese, and few more. The main attraction is the 3 pandas with 2 indoors and 1 outdoor. All are females. On top floor there is a gift shop and toilets. The other not to be missed is the Taiwanese Blackbears. Just pay TWD5 for the tram ride. There are insect kingdom, Taiwanese native black bears, monkeys, and several more. To quench your thirst and hunger pangs, there are restaurants like McDonald's and gift shop after the entrance. The admission fees are very affordable.

A good place to relax with nature. Some parts are under renovation but still looks good. I just cant understand one thing. Me and my cousin passed by it riding our bicycles but apparently we don't have bike locks but we still decided to go inside since we're already there. Then the guard told us that since we don't have locks we can bring our bikes with us but we can't ride it which is okay. But as we walk, motorcycles and even cars are park further inside and some others passed us by. So its just a bit of confusing that bikes are not allowed to be used inside but cars and motorcycles are. I just forgot to ask about it when we decided to go out. But still, the place is good and worth the 30 pesos entrance fee.

Very cheap entry. Would be better if they charged more and used the money for good. Litter everywhere including in the so called lagoon. Animals caged looking very old and unwell. I thought this was a rescue center but it seemed more of a captivity prison. Was nice to get away from the noise of the traffic for an hour but I would never return or recommend anyone to go. Would give a 0 Star rating if possible.

This is a literal breath of fresh air amidst the busy and toxic city life. The kids enjoy just running around. Though there are small stores to buy food, they don't sell rice meals here. You need to bring your own food. You also need to bring your own bikes, mat, and other supplies. There is no place to rent them here.

It’s a great place to visit in the cool days. Each area is clearly described. There are eateries and convenient stores inside. Easy to get there by metro or by car, plenty of parking by the mrt ($10/hr weekdays) or riverbank ($50 each time, weekdays only, weekends is $60/hr). The entrance fee to the zoo is very affordable $60 for ages 18-64, free for elderly or children under 6 and can be purchased at the automatic machine or use your metro card to enter. The shuttle bus/train is only $5 per ride.

I love this zoo! Actually placed a small donation NT $ 1000 and can get an annual pass for it. Lots of varieties of animals. Because I have the pass so I don’t have to rush to see every animals at one visit. I gotta time for slowly see those beauties from God’s creation. Might be a bit crowded during weekends. Have water foundations inside of the zoo so you can bring yours for refill. I have my YouTube channel for videos that I recorded here: Dr. Alice’s Wonderland Go check out if you want to see more

What a huge zoo to be explored in one day! It is not enough time in a day only to explore all of the areas though! But our kids very enjoyed every animals there. Educative and entertaining. The weather was very hot, so better to prepare hat and sunscreen and water bottle (many spots to refill).

Incredible variety of animals, from Australian wildlife to African safari animals and panda bears. This zoo takes a whole day to venture through. Strollers recommended for kids, it’s a lot of walking. The bird area is fun because you see a large variety of birds in an open space setting, peacocks chilling in the same area as flamingos. Plenty of space for picnicking and rest areas. The Panda house closes at 5PM and they are adamant about getting people out at 5 but it’s so worth it because you can see 2 of the pandas that were born in the zoo. And the pandas are not shy about saying hi! Normally I feel sad about seeing animals in their cages, but these animals seemed pretty happy. Except for the penguins, they all seemed content to be living there. The penguins wanted out, and they have buckets placed in their caves so the penguins stand outside for visibility. Some of the penguins were just starring at the wall.

Great zoo, but on a hot day be prepared to sweat it out. There are some indoor exhibits throughout for some respite. I had a friend recommend going to the back first and then walking down hill which is a good call, but didn't realize until the top that there was a train in the park that will take you up. It's a beautiful zoo and was well worth the trip! Lots of animals and great views of the mountains and jungle.

You won't find a better experience for $2 usd. The gondola ride is also only $1 usd, highly recommended but it's closed on Mondays. The zoo has numerous highly coveted air-conditioned attractions situated around the zoo which are extremely welcoming if you are visiting the zoo in the summer heat. The ac attractions are the penguin exhibit, the insectarium, and the panda house. The pandas always seem to be sleeping. The lurou fan here was okay as well.

Quite good, the management should consider guiding foreigners as it is difficult to interact with local people. The transport facility inside the zoo is good, however they should add guided tours inside the zoo vehicle. Rope car experience is good. We are not told about various options or stoppages of the rope car. They should improve the quality to offer memorable experience to the visitors.

I had an incredible time at Taipei Zoo! It's a massive place, and I found myself immersed for around 4 hours. The highlight of my visit was getting to see the Koala, Giraffe, and Hippo - what a treat! Unfortunately, the elusive Panda remained hidden during my visit, but that didn't dampen my overall enjoyment. One of the standout features was the extraordinary bird sanctuary. It's gigantic and truly amazing. Inside, I encountered a variety of bird species I'd never seen before. What's even more astonishing is that these birds aren't afraid of humans, allowing for an up-close and personal experience. Taipei Zoo is a must-visit for nature and animal enthusiasts. The size of the zoo, the diverse range of animals, and the bird sanctuary made it a memorable trip. I'll definitely be returning to try my luck with the Panda, but even without that, this place was a fantastic experience!

Got Taipei funpass 3 days which includes the zoo. Lots of attractions. I didn't have enough time to explore all of the attractions since i arrived late but it was quite enjoyable. The road was not confusing as it all connects up and rarely do you have to back track, plenty of amenities everywhere and the toilets are clean. Each zone has their own theme which you can notice on the railings and floor. You can easily spend the whole day here. Not sure if it is the timing I came from but many of the animals were not available due to maintenance such as the elephants and half the penguin attraction.

Superb local Taipei zoo, with many interesting exhibits. Very easy to get to by MRT, and not far from downtown Taipei. The Giant Panda building is incredible, and not to be missed. This is nicer than any Panda exhibits I've seen in the US, and well worth the visit. The pangolin dome is also very special, and a rare chance to see these highly endangered animals. Taiwan is to be highly commended for their conservation efforts on this special species. The gift shop is huge, with an amazing assortment of animal related items, and the cafe in the Panda building is actually quite good for a simple meal. Wonderful day trip.

This place has delightful topiaries and multiple gift shops. It is a very well-decorated park. The food is not the greatest, but since there are so many exhibits and walking further into the park being a perpetual uphill climb, it really helps to get some sustenance. They have a Mos burger. I actually don't think I have made it up to Bird World. One of the main highlights here is the panda exhibit. Pandas aren't my favorite but I do like the many stuffed animal pandas in the gift shop. The insect and reptile exhibits are most extensive. There are two Maokong stations in the park.

The Taipei Zoo, new price 60 bucks, Yoyo card holder goes straight in like MRT! Price is still very cheap VS other zoos in the world. Huge place, better bring your walking shoes. Lots of animals to see if you are there the right time of day. We were lucky to see the pandas playing and eating bamboo! If you have kids then bring them along! Surely it's a place to learn and drain their energies!

Decided to visit on a solo trip during a Wednesday afternoon and im so glad I did! Only 60NTD for entry and there was so much to see! The park was not too busy which was nice and lots of animals that were separated in the different areas. I spent about 2.5 hours here and covered about 60% of the map so would definitely recommend putting some more time aside.

Entrance is extremely cheap. Very accessible via public transport. If with kids that are small, take a stroller. It is huge. Lots of different animals, some parts in need or maintainance, others perfect. Good array of food and drink once inside and easy access to the gondola.

It's worth the visit. Our tickets were included in the Fun Pass so we didn't have to queue. It's a large-scale place with different types of animals from mammals, birds, amphibians to reptiles and fish. It's best to use comfortable footwear when you visit. There are some convenience stores and fast food restaurants inside the zoo so you don't have to worry about getting hungry.

  • 4/5 김지수 3 weeks ago on Google • 68 reviews New
Although they say there are a variety of animals, the number of animals actually seen seems to be rather small. One capybara with a monkey looks a little lonely, and it is fun to see the monkey harassing the capybara. When you visit on holidays, it is crowded with families with children. It's a good idea to visit lightly while taking a walk, but since it's on the outskirts of the city, the only place worth visiting nearby is the zoo.

We went to late so we missed some of the animals. We didn't have enough time to visit. Otherwise it was great. There are many animals that are not typically seen in western zoos in the Taipei zoo.

Visiting this zoo brings back memories from my childhood. Whether you are a kid or kid at heart visiting this place fits all ages. I was really happy when I saw the panda and other animals that the zoo has. I think it took me almost 2 hours to stroll around the zoo.

If you want to get away from the malls and other techy stuff, and want to enjoy the outdoors then this is the right place to go. i liked the place. it's clean and so nice. This is a great place for bonding and learning. Parents should bring their kids here often and not in malls.

It’s a nice place to hang around if not for the scorching sun. Choice a cloudy day or just wait till mid fall, where temperatures drop to around 26 something. They maintain this place pretty well. Panda, Koala, and the penguin are the highlights. The food stands and court in it are decent. Not fancy, very zoo liked. It’s a pity the nearby shopping street just busted. It got its potential wasted I feel.

  • 5/5 Steven H. 2 years ago on Google
This zoo is one of the best I've been to. You could easily spend a whole day here. Enclosures are large and interesting. The animals look healthy and seem to be well cared for. The entrance fee is pretty cheap and an mrt station nearby makes it very easy to get to this zoo. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely come again. For people who enjoy seeing animals, this place is worth visiting.

  • 5/5 Kay O. 2 years ago on Google
I am all about visiting zoo's all over the world! This one is probably my favorite zoo's in the world, it is very large and the enclosures are very large for the animals compared to other places (Of course, you can be an advocate for keeping animals in cages, but at least this place takes care of them). Every enclosure I visited has a beautiful set up and presentation. The signs added a lot by educating you on the animals. I am not sure they do it now, especially during covid, because my trip was pre-covid. They will give you a ticket to view the pandas, which I didn't know, as I didn't understand the purpose of the timed tickets they give you at the entrance. If they you get one, thats what it means, because panda's are quite popular. There is a lot of places to explore and be prepared for extremely long walks if you want to see everything! You will need snacks and lots of water. You'll spend more than several hours here if your an animal fan and want to enjoy the beauty of it. I spent nearly 5 hours, but I didn't stop to eat a normal meal, just snacks. If you love looking at animals, than this is the place to check out on your world travels...

If you want to close the nature,Taipei zoo will be your best decision. Taipei zoo is the biggest zoo in Taiwan and there has many beautiful views and plants so you can bring your parents or friends to go there to do some outdoor activities. For example: picnic, hiking etc.But it is not your best decision to close the animals.Sometimes the weather is too hot and some animals will be sent to the air-conditioned room so that you can’t find them in the zoo.Overall Taipei zoo is not bad for me so when I have the free time, I will visit there again.

Come on weekdays to really enjoy the zoo.. No crowds, all so peaceful 😂 You need to reserve beforehand due to pandemic, and choose the time (morning/afternoon) when will you enter the zoo. If you choose to come in the morning, you can stay all day long on the zoo. The entrance ticket available with yo-yo card too so you can also have a no contact payment.. There're some updates on websites, like which hall is closed due to Covid-19 (panda house etc). There's a train inside the zoo, you can take it to the African animal area, then slowly go downhill to entrance. This way you can save a lot energy. But I think (maybe) it won't be available for wheelchair and baby stroller. You can also buy some ice cream at the store in front of zebra area.. We all had a great experience here

Took a quick trip to the Taipei Zoo and finally saw a clouded snow leopard, Formosan black bear, and some local monkeys. The bear was sleeping and not so photogenic, but the monkeys listened to me while I hooted and hollered at them, and the snow leopard posed majestically. We took our son to the butterfly house, which was by far his favorite exhibit with the meerkat exhibit coming in second. We only made it through about a quarter of the zoo today so we will most likely be making several more trips back in the near future. Like this review if you enjoyed it out found it helpful.

A really good destination for a family trip. Lots of animals, and plenty of spaces for children to run around. Unfortunately when I visited, the penguin section was crowded so I had to queue for 10~15 mins. The cleanliness of the place is great, although for the restroom is not really clean (since it was a crowded day). Have to try the gondola ride to maokong, incredible view! I luckily got to see the sunset during my gondola trip, and you can see Taipei 101 from your gondola. The ticket price is $30 for student and $60 regular.

What a great place for everyone to visit. The animals are so well cared for and there’s just so much to see and so much to learn. One thing though is that I wish they would really enforce the no smoking policy. Saw a group from a bus tour just smoking it up as we took the tram to the top of the zoo

There are a lot of animals at this Zoo, and it is beautifully landscaped. Ticket prices for this large Zoo are surprisingly low. Be sure to book your tickets online before heading to the Zoo. Throughout the Zoo were excellent exhibitions both indoors and outdoors. A day isn't enough to explore all of the areas, however. You can always come back again to explore more of the Zoo. Get to know cute animals and plants while you're here.

The Taipei Zoo is one of the ten largest municipal zoos in the world and the largest in Southeast Asia, that's why I'm happy to visit this place with my friends. More exotic animals are found here inside the TAIWAN ZOO. I can't see PANDAS and ELEPHANTS that's the one I wanted to see here. But the PENGUINS and Bears are present here.

Very kids friendly zoo with clear map of animals from different areas. Very cheap at 60 twd per adult ticket. The only downside is not a lot of food trucks are open, the McDonald is most popular (near entrance )and took us an hour to queue up and find table for lunch at 1pm.

Nice zoo! Palace for chimp lovers! Lots of animals in different variety. Huge park and well maintained! Lovely place and couldn’t finish a complete walk there even spending the full day there. The zoo is very well maintained, with an excellent variety of exhibits and sections. The facilities cover an extensive area, and can occupy the better part of a day. Lots of bathrooms available. I particularly enjoyed the education area that you have to pay an extra entrance fee for. Plenty of quality taxidermy exhibits that allow you to appreciate the dioramas in better detail. There are also plenty of interactive areas to keep kids busy. Would definitely recommend as a location for a family outing. There was no queue when we arrived at noon on a weekday. Be advised zoo closes at 5pm though.

Taipei Zoo has various kinds of fauna spread over a vast area. We can see them in animal categories according to their natural habitat and origin. There are multiple animals from various continents, including pandas, koalas, and penguins, which are very rare to find. One of the highlights is their habitat which is very well preserved even in a zoo. It can be seen that cleanliness and safety are their concern. Food and drink stall areas are also scattered in many areas. Visitors can also enjoy this zoo on the train that connects the front and back areas. This zoo is very comfortable and friendly for small children to the elderly.

  • 4/5 Paul H. 10 months ago on Google
The zoo is great, it's big with a lot to see. The enclosures are well done with extensive greenery. I took a star off because the food options are bad. The only real option is McDonald's. The service was painfully slow. Then there are way too few seating areas to eat. Way too few. Many people sit around the circular benchs in the courtyard, but there's still not enough room on a Friday, and they aren't covered, so not ideal when it starts raining. I don't know what they were thinking there? It's so cheap to get in that I would have thought selling food and drinks would be a priority. There is a small food stand near the shuttle, but even that has only TWO tables! They need a better restaurant with a view over an animal enclosure and beer on the menu.

One of the biggest global and best zoo I've visited. They housed a huge collection of the Austria and Africa animals. The pandas are big and adorable. The zoo itself is beautifully decorated and looks like a walk in the tropical. The aerial lift cart ride is amazing with 3 stops (zoo, temple, top of the mountain "Maokong").

If you're looking for a fun and family-friendly attraction in Taiwan, you can't go wrong with a visit to the local zoo. And this particular zoo is definitely one of the best in the country, with a wide variety of animals and attractions that are sure to delight visitors of all ages. One of the things that sets this zoo apart from others in Taiwan is its unique collection of animals. In addition to the usual zoo staples like lions, tigers, and bears, you'll also find a number of more exotic creatures, such as koala bears and even penguins. These animals are a rare sight in Taiwan, and they make for a truly unforgettable experience. But it's not just the animals that make this zoo such a special place. The zoo itself is also incredibly well-designed and accessible, with most roads being flat and easy to navigate. This makes it a great option for visitors of all ages and abilities, including the elderly, as well as those with babies or young children. And speaking of children, this zoo is a great place for families to spend a day together. There are plenty of interactive exhibits and activities that are sure to capture the attention of even the youngest visitors, from petting zoos to playgrounds to educational exhibits that teach kids about the importance of conservation and animal welfare. Of course, the zoo can get quite crowded on weekends and holidays, so if you're planning to visit during peak times, it's a good idea to arrive early and plan your route carefully. The train queue in particular can get quite long, with waits of 100+ people not uncommon. But even with the crowds, this zoo is still a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a fun and unforgettable experience in Taiwan.

It was the height of summer and walking around between 10am and 3pm is perhaps the worst timing we could find ourselves in. Even the animals refuse to come out from their caves, dens, holes in the wall, shelter, tree top, whatever ... Not the ideal time of the year to be walking around such a huge sprawling place. Walking around in shorts was a terrible idea because of the insects. But hey, we're in a zoo, we chose to be there at this time with family members that came to visit. We did more than 20 thousand steps that day, drank gallons or liters of water, soda, whatever we can get our hands on. After the zoo was the Gondola (cable car) ride. Now this is something you wouldn't want to miss, especially during the colder season. Go up to Maokong, get off the top and walk around, half coffee, tea, or whatever is available up there. Stay for a while with your SO before taking the cable car back again. Great experience 👍😃

Zoo has a good variety of animals. The animal enclosures seem pretty generous in space and foliage. However, that works against visitors as spotting the animals in the enclosure is a challenge. As a result of the large enclosures, the zoo is very widely spreaded. Covering the entire place in a single day is a challenge. Rightly, one should enter from the south entrance after getting on the gondolas and walk towards the main entrance to exit. However, when the gondolas are arbitrarily halted, it means walking an entire circle within the zoo compound. Had taken the transport as it was pretty much too tired to do that. TWD5 per pax is money well spent.

Cheap, big, and so many animals! Taipei Zoo is one of my highlights from my trip in Taipei, there are so many different species that you can even get up close to, and even the standard 60TWD entry fee is pretty much a donation! Big tip to bring a fan or something cool during the summer time, and those walking shoes!

Taipei Zoo truly impressed me with its wide variety of animals. It's undoubtedly the biggest zoo in Asia and you can spend hours exploring the different exhibits. The helpful shuttle train made it easy to navigate and see all the animals, even though the weather wasn't on our side that day. Despite the rain, I had a memorable experience at Taipei Zoo and would highly recommend it to any animal lover!

First time to visit the zoo at night. I searched in another country, but the price is too high. Then, I found out that Taipei zoo will open until 9 pm on Saturdays during the summer holiday (July and August, except for the first week) + last Saturday of October. The price is only 30 NTD and free to hop on the shuttle train, with consideration that some areas will be closed. Overall, it was an interesting experience to walk around the zoo at night and see the animals sleep haha 😆 Additional info: - For nighttime hours (for 4-8 pm admission), enter via the main entrance. - Tap your easycard at the entrance gate and you can directly enter the zoo. - If you collect the memorial stamps, don't forget to bring your notebook since they have it here too!

Wow.. the variety of animals, the lush verdant greenery.. and most importantly the animals all had very spacious and comfortable enclosures and were very well taken care of. Even the African animals area did not smell like it normally does in other zoos. Entrance fee is also ridiculously cheap at USD2+. Shuttle tram was nice and frequent too. A must visit - probably one of the best zoos I have been to!

Amazing place to spend your day, I try my best to see every animal in one day but it'was impossible lol. It's a perfect mix between nature and human kind. To be honest I prefer wild animals but somehow they do a great job.

I didn't expect it to be so big. You literally have to dedicate a whole day for this. If you're going around summer, some animals are hard to find since it's hot and they are lying under shade. It is super hot inside but they have water stations scattered all over just bring your own flask or drink from a water fountain. Several food options too.

The Taipei Zoo is a must-visit destination for animal lovers and those seeking a day of educational fun in Taipei. Spread across a vast area, it offers a diverse range of exhibits, allowing visitors to explore various ecosystems and observe a wide array of animals. One of the standout features is the Giant Panda House, providing a delightful opportunity to see these charming pandas in a habitat resembling their natural environment. The zoo's efforts in animal welfare and conservation are evident throughout, making the experience both enjoyable and informative. The overall layout and design of the zoo are well-organized, with clear signages and pathways guiding visitors smoothly through the different sections. The animal enclosures are thoughtfully designed, aiming to offer the animals ample space and a semblance of their natural habitats. Aside from the Giant Panda House, visitors can marvel at various exhibits such as the Asian Tropical Rainforest Area, the Australian Animals Area, and the African Animal Area. Each section provides insights into the animals' lives and habitats, fostering awareness about conservation and environmental stewardship. The Taipei Zoo also plays a crucial role in education, frequently organizing events, workshops, and informative displays to enrich visitors' knowledge about wildlife and conservation efforts. Overall, the Taipei Zoo offers an engaging, family-friendly experience that combines entertainment, education, and an appreciation for the diverse animal kingdom.

Taipei Zoo is one of the best place for all ages. Accessible for wheelchairs, strollers and push carts for personal stuffs. In comparison with last year's visit. Park maintenance are not maintained recently. Grasses were not trimmed along front view area of some animal cages and less animals to visit. Some areas were under reconstruction as well. In addition, convenience stores and Mc donalds are available if you feel hungry or have some snacks. You can have a joy ride of a mini train shuttle which are designed with varieties of animals that will bring you to the upper part of the Zoo so you don't have to walk upward. Less time effort.

I had a great time at the Taipei Zoo. We visited the Zoo facilities in the course of a lecture and learned a lot about how the Zoo treats the animals behind the scenes. Usually Zoos are a a little bit controversial for me but the Taipei Zoo really emphasizes the importance of animal protection and proper enclosures. There is a lot to see and you can definitely spend a whole day in the Zoo and learn a lot about animals and nature. The whole area felt like a botanical garden to me.

A great place for kids. The reviews are right; this is one of the biggest zoo I’ve been to, and can take a full day if you really want to see everything. Recommended for family with young kids

Wonderful zoo! It is huge and it took almost all day to explore every section of it. Overall beautiful location and the exhibits were great. They had a unusually nice and expansive insect exhibit which was a pleasant surprise. Would recommend to take the family here it was very inexpensive.
