This is a popular site for both locals and visitors. It’s a stretch of the promenade on the side of Old Shanghai on the Huangpu River. It’s a a place to view skyscrapers of modern Shanghai. 😎😎😎 It’s crowded all day and night until late when the illuminating lights are switched off. It’s truly a magnificent vista of what Shanghai is now to the entire world.😎😎😎. The most noticeable of the towers is the Oriental Pearl. There’s also the Shanghai Tower, the 2nd tallest building in the world. And depending on where you’re on the viewing promenade, is the Jin Mao tower, which to me has some semblance (on the outside) of NYC’s Chrysler Building.

Great tourist attraction. Very pleasant to access when you walk down the Pedestrian Street with lots of touristy stuff and eating places on the side. The lights on the buildings are done really well.

Something you can’t miss in Shanghai - the magical night view of the famous and historical architecture of the Bund. It was super crowded on the second day of the Lunar New Year, but traffic control was on point and safe. Looking to the Lujiazui side across the Huangpu Rover tells you the modernisation of the city of Shanghai transforming into one of the most important financial centres of the East. The night light of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower explain why Shanghai is called the “Capital of Magic” or “Enchanting City”. Turn around, the historical architecture view of Zhongshan Road will impress you and leave a mind lasting picture.

Probably the most famous site of Shanghai, the bund should be on anyone’s list of places to visit in this bustling metropolis. Highly recommended to come during day and night as the atmosphere changes drastically. Be aware though that it can get very crowded.

This is one of Ningbo's best kept secrets. It is a hidden gem and few know it, even though it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and located opposite to Ningbo's famous Bund! Surprisingly, the place is overlooked by most lists of things to do in Ningbo. The building was a meeting place for the local sailors' guild.Today it is a museum filled with a multitude of model ships. If you are in town, you should definitely visit the Qing'an Assembly Hall.

Awful experience. Really disappointing. Definitely not meant for tourists. Not even a single ATM in the whole area, plus they do not accept any payment by card other than with Chinese cards, in any restaurant inside the park! Apart from that the park itself is really bad compared to the ones I am used to visiting in Spain and other parts of the world. I would never recommend visiting this place, especially for non-Chinese visitors.

The Bund or Waitan  is a waterfront area and a protected historical district in central Shanghai. The area centers on a section of Zhongshan Road (East Zhongshan Road No.1) within the former Shanghai International Settlement, which runs along the western bank of the Huangpu River in the eastern part of Huangpu District. The area along the river faces the modern skyscrapers of Lujiazui in the Pudong District. The Bund usually refers to the buildings and wharves on this section of the road, as well as some adjacent areas. From the 1860s to the 1930s, it was the rich and powerful center of the foreign establishment in Shanghai, operating as a legally protected treaty port.

(Translated by Google) I have been in a taxi for over an hour in downtown Shanghai. When I went to Disneyland, I was forced to make a comparison, but the rides were not so bad because there was a lot of thrill, but I can not get rid of feeling that it is poor in operation management. The dive coaster, the hump rider, and the 270 degree rotating rides (I can not remember the name ...) were fun. It takes about three hours by taxi to and from Shanghai city center. Of course, it seems to be worth visiting if it is within 30 minutes.

This is a great viewpoint to enjoy the heart of the city. On one side you've got all of the historic buildings with the British heritage including government buildings and fancy hotels. On the other side, the bustling financial center of the city. Only separated by a river and you can enjoy the 'bend' in the waterway here to get a better view. Well worth it.

The Bund is a waterfront area of Huangpu River, and the center area of Zhongshan Road, the historical district in Central Shanghai. Walking around the bund and looking at the grand and western style building, I feel like in Europe, not in China :). All the buildings at the Bund was built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Day and night are always the best to enjoy the Bund, walking along the promenade to enjoy the view from both sides, the Pudong area with all the tall skyscrapers, and the Puxi area with all its historical landmarks. Most of the buildings and landmarks in the Bund start to turn on the light from 6.30 pm, to 10.30 pm, including the light show. The Bund has been featured in many Asian and Western movies, including the TV series The Amazing Race.

Absolutely beautiful place. Especially at night it is so pretty with all the lights. The view is spectacular. And there is such a diversity in architecture one cannot fathom it until you visit. At one side there are massive skyscrapers, at the others some gorgeous older buildings, and then a few blocks away there is a huge garden full of ancient chinese architecture. Then in another direction there is the longest shopping street in the world. 200/10 can only recommend visiting here.

This is a MUST visit in China. The contrast between the new and old Shanghai is mesmerizing. Also known as China's big apple, the towering skyscrapers at the foot of the river is a sight to behold. You can take a ferry to get across at a cheap price and you have many options once at the buildings. To mention a few, you can take ascend the Shanghai tower in the fastest lift in the world or you can walk on the highest glass observatory in the Financial building. This is one place you wouldn't mind revisiting.

For any visitor to Shanghai, a promenade along The Bund is obligatory. Day or night this area is always busy - everyone must have a photograph of the Oriental Pearl Radio & TV Tower! Levels of pollution in Shanghai can be problematic and often landmarks are shrouded by smog. Thankfully this evening was one of the clearer ones!

It’s me favorite walk in town! Shanghai has always been the most western city in China, that you easily see from many buildings. The Bund is not only a walk, but a ahistorical moment, because you can realize how Chinese the city is yet how progressing it has always been. It’s cold and windy now, but still a nice thing to do. There are local publications, not really easy to be found that explain the history of each single building. There is a lot to be learned. Most of all, the Bund is also very safe, all Shanghai is and they have best subway system in China.

The famous Bund of Shanghai. On the stretch of road by the Huang Pu Jiang River, one can view the superb scenery of the sky scrapers across the River at Pudong. One can also enjoy the scenic view of the colonial style building in Puxi. The bund is a short walk away from the Yu Garden where one can enjoy Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao and view the night lights if the yu garden temple and shopping complex. The bund is also a short walk away to the Nanjing Walking Street which is a mile long street of shopping centers and restaurants.

The famous waterfront and iconic symbol of Shanghai. However, it is super crowded on both weekdays and weekends. Highly recommend to go to one of the rooftop bars /restaurants nearby for less crowd and way better view.

The Bund in Shanghai is truly majestic, blending modern and classic architecture in a captivating way. Having seen it in Hong Kong drama series, I was thrilled to experience its real-life beauty, which surpassed my expectations. Visiting The Bund is a must to complete your Shanghai journey; it's a landmark that defines the city's allure. The stunning buildings and picturesque view along the riverfront make it an unforgettable destination.

(Translated by Google) Qing'an Hall, also known as Mindong Tianhou Palace and North Hall, is a Tianhou Palace and Guild Hall building in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, China. Qing'an Hall is located in Jiangdong Road (original wooden road) in Yinzhou District. It is named after the "Hai Bu Yang Bo Qing An An", the Tianhou Palace and the Guild Hall of the Ningbo North Shipyard in the late Qing Dynasty. The Qing'an Hall was built in the Qing Dynasty (1853). It is the only existing ancient building complex in the south of the Yangtze River with the functions of the Tianhou Palace and the Guild Hall. It is also the only preserved building in Zhejiang Province. The building of the Qing'an Hall is quite unique, and there are records in the book of "Glory and Geek, a crown of architecture". After the reform and opening up, the Anzhen Hall, located on the north side of the Qing'an Hall, moved to the south side of the Qing'an Hall, forming a pattern of two halls in the same area. It is now a Zhedong Maritime Folk Museum. The Qing'an Club was built in the 30th year of Daoguang (1850) and was completed three years later. It was built in 1950 by the ship owner of Shenyang, Shen Fa, in the second year of Song Shaoxi (1191), the temple of Ningbo Tianzhu Palace. Destroyed by bombing). At that time, due to the implementation of the grain shipping, the strength of the North Shipbuilding of Ningbo to operate the North Shipping was gradually expanding, and an independent business headquarters was urgently needed. Therefore, the Qing'an Hall was jointly established by nine influential Beihai seafarers in Cixi, Qixian and Zhenhai. In November of the fourth year of Xianfeng, due to the pirate attack on the North Road, the loss was huge. Cixi people Fei Lunzhen, Sheng Zhizhen and Zhenhai Xiaogang Ren Li Yeting proposed to purchase Western ships to transport food for the ship. The sand boat escorted and received the response from the shipowners. The following year, the ship was named "Baoshun Wheel" and began to escort the sand boat, which was very effective. Dong Pei’s “The Beginning and End of Baoshun Ship” has been preserved in the Qing’an Hall. During the Republic of China, Muxing Road gradually declined, and the Qing'an Hall was also transformed into Muxing Road Primary School. During the Cultural Revolution, the construction of the Qing'an Hall was seriously damaged. In 1997, the cultural department of Ningbo City repaired the Qing'an Guild Hall and restored the shape of the Qing'an Guild Hall as a hall. In June 2001, the Qing'an Guild Hall was included in the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units, and is now the seat of the Zhedong Maritime Folk Museum. The building structure of Qing'an Hall is a typical modern wooden structure. From the outside to the inside are the palace gate, the instrument gate, the front stage, the main hall, the rear stage and the apse. The shape of the double stage is an important feature. The structure adopts the traditional Chinese courtyard structure, which extends forward along the longitudinal axis, and raises the height of each building layer by layer, making the building have a sense of depth. The palace gate of Qing'an Hall is a brick wall gatehouse. The roof is in the form of a beam-shaped hard mountain top with a Sanmatou gable. Most of the wooden components are decorated with Zhujin wood carving technique. The middle of the palace gate is the three characters of the "Tianhou Palace", with 14 figures of brick carvings on both sides. Entering the palace gate is the instrument gate. The roof of the instrument door is in the form of a bucket-type heavy mountain top and a four-headed gable. The main body of the building is supported by six dragon stone columns. Entering the instrument door is the front stage. The roof of the stage is the top of the mountain, with a bucket arch and a sculpted beast. The theme of the stage is wooden structure, and a large number of Zhujin wood carving techniques are used to express the content of the drama. The main hall of the main hall of the Qing'an Hall is in the form of a beam-shaped heavy mountain top with a five-headed gable. In the second time, the tip is a hard-topped mountain with a bucket, and at the same time, it forms a false break on the top of the mountain. Further inside, it is the rear stage, and the shape is basically the same as that of the front stage. The innermost is the apse, and the roof of the Ming Dynasty is a beam-topped heavy mountaintop with a four-headed gable. The second and the tip are the hard tops of the bucket. The apse is the place where the board of directors of the former Qing'an Club is negotiating matters, and it is also the place for the Spring and Autumn industry gatherings. Brick carving is an important artistic feature of the Qing'an Club. Brick carvings are mainly distributed in the gatehouse and gable. On the two sides of the main entrance of the hall, the "Dragon Palace" is a pattern of "Shuanglong Play Pearl". The roof bricks are mostly made of gods and auspicious patterns. The roof of the stage is carved with a dragon, and the ridge is engraved with Kuixing and Ruiyu. The most abundant is the brick carving of Shantou. The focus of the sculpture is on the lower part of the skull, which is used to represent characters and dramatic plots. Stone carving is another feature of the architectural art of the Qing'an Guild Hall. It is represented by a pair of dragons and a pair of phoenix stone peony pillars. According to legend, this group of masts came from Fujian Xinghua (now Putian City) and arrived in Ningbo by water. The image of the dragon in the dragon's scorpion column flies down from the roof with two bats around the column, meaning a blessing. The phoenix peony column is half embedded in the wall, with phoenix up and down and peony in the middle. These pillars are carved from the whole stone, and through the technique of hollowing out, the image of dragon and phoenix flying between the clouds is created. In addition, the stone carvings on the wall base, the Imperial Road, the pillar foundation, etc. also have their own characteristics. Wood carvings are commonly used in the wooden components of the Qing'an Hall. A large number of wood carving techniques are used for the scorpion, the bird, the arch, the baffle, and the vertical column. The wood carvings of the Qing'an Hall use the native Zhu Jin wood carving crafts of Ningbo, and the content is from the landscape to the folk stories. The fixed exhibition of the Qing'an Guild Hall (excluding the Anzhen Guild Hall belonging to the same museum) is the exhibition of China·Ningbo Ship History Exhibition. In addition to the fixed exhibitions, temporary exhibitions are also held on a regular basis. In addition, the important exhibit is Jiang Yalun Wood Rudder. The Qing'an Guild Hall currently has a China-Ningbo Ship History Exhibition, which displays various ships and their models from ancient times to China, especially in Ningbo, including the buildings, the "Wanyu" Shenzhou, the sand boat, the Fuzhou, the Baozhou and China. The first ship of the self-running Baoshun round. The Jiangya shipwreck occurred on December 3, 1948, was the biggest shipwreck in modern China. In 2000, Wenzhou people Wu Jinlong and Chen Xiaoyu fired a fire on the Dongfanghong No. 8 wheel of the Changhang Group (that is, the vessel was rebuilt after the salvage of the original Jiang Yalun), causing the ship to burn down. Wu Jinlong and Chen Xiaoyu sent the only wooden rudder of Jiang Yalun to the collection of the Zhedong Maritime Folk Museum. The wooden rudder is now in the main hall of the Qing'an Hall for people to visit. The general ticket for the Qing'an Clubhouse is 10 yuan, and the children and students are folded in half. Opening hours are from 8:30 to 16:30 daily.

The best way to appreciate the buildings is to have a walk along the Bund. Roaming among the architectural complexes, you'll have a better understanding of the century-long charm of this city. We have specially designed a 2½-hour in-depth Bund culture discovery tour for those who want to learn more interesting stories about the Bund and old Shanghai... Start: Broadway Mansions Finish: Meteorological Signal Tower Distance: 1.3 kilometers Time needed: 2½hours What you should not miss: a museum in Astor House Hotel; a movie poster gallery in Peace Hotel; the beautiful mosaic ceiling of Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank; Lovers' wall or the Valentine wall. Best times to walk: It can be done either by day or night; during the evening the buildings are closed but the night view of the Bund is amazing. Bring an umbrella or a rain coat in rainy seasons, and a hat and sun cream on sunny days. Prepare some water and food. For more details see for example Day 1 of our customizable 2-Day Shanghai Essence Tour itinerary. Take a Huangpu River Cruise After a walk along the Bund, you can consider taking a Huangpu River cruise. On the cruise, you will see the historical architecture on the Bund, as well as the modern skyscrapers opposite the Huangpu River, giving you a distinctive contrast between modern life and the past. There are several tour lengths you can choose from, from a 30-minute cruise to a 3½-hour cruise. You are recommended to take a night cruise and you will be impressed by the enchanting night view of Shanghai. If your time is limited and you want to save some money, you can take a ferry across to Pudong. It costs 2 yuan but still provides an opportunity to see the scenery on both sides of the river. Watch the Locals Doing Their Morning Exercises Watch the locals doing their morning exercises at the Bund. The Bund is not just a place for tourists but is also a great place for the local people to do their morning exercises. If you wake up early, you can go to the Bund and watch the locals practicing tai chi, jogging, and more. It is a way to experience the real lifestyle of the local people. Spend Some Time in Huangpu Park At the northern end of the Bund is Huangpu Park. It is like a small oasis situated between the Bund and busy shopping areas. The manicured lawn and gardens particularly stand out as there is not much green space in this part of Shanghai. It is a wonderful place to have a rest and to take photos, day or night. Photography Tips Where to Shoot Panoramic Views of the Bund? View the Pudong skyscrapers from the Bund. There are three ideal locations to see the full view of the Bund: Pudong Binjiang Avenue, on a Huangpu River Cruise, and one of the skyscrapers in Pudong like Shanghai World Financial Center, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Jin Mao Tower and Shanghai Tower. If you want to take beautiful photos of the Bund, we advise you to hire a guide who can give you tip

Awsome place to experience what a well planned city can look like. Wife roads, with considerations for bikes and pedestrians.

Too many people on a public holiday weekend all converging on a iconic point meant I had a watch from afar afraid of the crush from the massive holiday crowds. Always a breathtaking sight to behold. You have not seen Shanghai if you haven't seen the Bund.
