Just a 25-minute train ride from the bustle of Shanghai, Suzhou’s quaint canals, draping trees and hanging lanterns are a sure city break. Suzhou’s old-fashioned gardens and Pintan opera shows (an opera sung in Suzhou dialect) are well-toured, but, in this waterside hub also merits lazy afternoons, teahouse visits and, of course, a canal boat ride

Must see if you are around, typical architecture and zhejianr garden style. But If you already visit some garden in the area you may thought all look the same! By the way they have a pretty good collection of magnificent bonsai. Best time to visit is maybe in early spring ~February to see the prunus mune flowers!

The most authoritative garden museum all over the world. The buildings are uniquely designed, bringing out the charm of Suzhou gardens.
