Nice river area, but all houses rebuilt to shops and restaurants, don't look for anything too historic. The boat ride along the canal is 80RMB and totally worth it, the only chance to take nice photos without the tourists.

Very popular place because right next to the canal, shops, food & drinks restaurant. You can take the boat ride cruising on the canal, taking pictures of the Chinese architecture. The shopping street right next to the canal is a great place to hangout. Local people come to this place as well.
