Great place for a quick hike with lots of side trials to explore (if you're the adventurous type). It's a great little escape from the mundane city life as well, and the best part that it's free to enter. Trails are paved and there's some fun stairs to climb. Easy to get to just off line 9 (light blue), and a short bus ride away.

The observatory is nice, especially the gallery. Good nature walk within Shanghai.

One hour drive from downtown, a very good place for weekend refresh. There are some nice hotels and some very local food restaurants. There is one hotel rebrands from Starwood Le Meridien to Marriott Yuluxe Tribute Portfolio. You may choose to stay over a weekend. There is a Cathedral on the top of Sheshan mountain.

One of the two "mountains" in Shanghai. More of a hill actually. Anyway it's good to have a place to hike a bit in Shanghai.

Like many said, it is more of a hill than a mountain, and not very high, but that's what makes it a fun place to visit with children. There are several ways up, mainly a winding road and path, or the stairs. The stairs are steep. It's is a pleasant drive and there is a lot of parking available in the Public lot nearby. I suggest phoning or texting ahead; when we were there the buildings were closed and the astronomy museum was closed. Only a small gift shop was open. Much of the grounds and the view were also blocked due to construction.

👍 Take the number 9 subway to Songjiang University town and then take a cab (it's way to far to walk). 40 RMB for access to the park but 50 RMB for access to the park + museum. Overall, it's a good place to walk around on a nice day. The campus is huge so you can find some places that are isolated wit...

👍👍 Outstanding, for only being 8 years old. The curators did an amazing (investment) job building a collection which covers many mature plants. We visited in December and this garden was worth every minute. Captivating landscapes worked outdoors, the greenhouses were brilliant. This well curated garden...
