Looking for a place to sleep without too much noise, friendly staff, and basic clean facilities? Then do NOT go here. All through the night there was partying in the hostel, and the staff was incompetent, unprofessional and unhelpful. Moreover, the beds are definitely not clean and constantly being switched between guests during the day. You will also not feel safe at night with people trading sleeping spots for extra cash, and 0 security at the entrance. Worst hostel experience I’ve ever had. Do yoursef a favor and keep on looking, because this is not where you want to go.

The bedroom doesn't have a lock. There are no lockers available. Just a small one which can hold only a laptop bag, that too without a lock. The bathrooms were not clean enough. Breakfast was not provided even though it was mentioned on the website. The beds were always making noise if you turn yourself and you couldn't sleep with 10 beds in the room. The microwave is in the staircase, no kitchen. The guy in the reception was acting completely weird. Not even worth a single star. Never again.

Would recommend staying away from this hostel! Sure it's cheap, but it was one of my worst hostel experiences ever: The entrance "hall" smelt really bad, the reception/couch area had really loud TV/music playing (until 2am!). Rooms also smelled weird and were definitely not clean. Same goes for the facilities, I skipped using the shower because it looked that bad. Bed was also saggy and creaky.

Great location, terrible service. The hostel itself is dirty and many things are broken. There’s only one bathroom for 30 guests. 1.5/10

First thing I noticed is that the hostel is completely unreachable, I called 4 times and mailed them twice over the course of 2 weeks with no response. Secondly, the reception doesn't speak the native languague (Dutch) and barely speaks English. Furthermore, the hostel is gross. Floors are sticky, the stairs handrailing is sticky, the beds have loads of stains and i found a hair in my bed next to a crum of something sticky. In adittion, the amenities are severly lacking: there is 1 microwave and only 6 toilets for the entire hostel, we had to wait in line a few times. The beds are terrible, the matresses are stained and offer no support, my friends bed was broken. Finaly, The service is terrible. I stayed with a group of friends for 2 days and half of our beds came without sheets and were then cleaned after the first day but we did not get replacement sheets and since the hostle isn't available we had to improvise. In conclusion: the only thing it has going for it is its cheap but its barely liveable.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Even though the price was very cheap, the quality of the service and rooms were subpar. Room could not be locked, as well as the lockers. Some beds were (nearly) broken, bedding was often dirty and/or damaged. The floors and handrailings were in some spots sticky. We had tried to get in contact with the hostel personell via the phone number that they gave, as well as the one on google maps. On both occasions the hostel was not reachable. The sanitary and the location were the only positive things i could think of.

The hostal is a labour camp which rents beds to Tourist. At night I woke up bec of bed bugs. I trayed to leave at same time, but I couldnt find at night any hotel, so I was forced to stay overnight there. In the morning my whole body stabbed. The doors of the hostal and the bedrooms are not locked... any time anyone can come inside. there is only a mini locker in the bedroom. The beautiful pic on there webside is the "reception" which almost closed.... its a trap!!! Never again!!

Cute Hostel in Flanders, Belgium. Staff, other guests, rooms, showers and prices all good. Except for two things for me: the beds are really noisy if you lay around like turn around or seat on the bed like it’s annoying but i guess changing all beds costs lots of money too. Secondly please provide more plug opportunities in the rooms. Well other than that all good and also nice chilling areas. Have a nice stay.

You get what you pay for. Would I go stay there again? Yes. It was the cheapest accommodation for my 2weeks travels, and while it was nice not to spend tons, don't expect the best service. - Rooms are not locked, and without any luggage lockers, it's not the safest place if you have a lot of valuables. - There are no plugs along the walls, but only 1 in the safety box tower near the door, so not the most practical and useful for travelers. - There is no guest kitchen, but only a mini fridge and microwave on the top floor, and without any utensils and plates (and not enough space for everyone), It's definitely something to improve. - The 2 bathrooms on each floor often didn't have any hand soap, which after Covid, is unacceptable (but I had no problem with the showers).

Awful service 😬. We had to wait quite a long time for check-in. The guy seemed clueless (or didn't care). We searched for two clean beds without success. The guy insisted the beds were clean, despite clear signs of use. He even mishandled someone's belongings from an upper bed, throwing them onto the lower bed. He didn't guide us to the facilities. Everything was dirty and disorganized. People entered the room in the middle of the night, occupying random beds. Around 2 AM, two RANDOM people bargained for a bed, with no supervision from the hostel. Not safe, with strangers walking in off the street. Also there was a party going on in the hostel. Extremely loud. As if shady people from the street bargaining for beds were not enough. The dirtiness was not even the worst thing compared to everything else.

Absolute Katastrophe.

I don't understand the low reviews, my experience was perfect. Staff was friendly, accomodating, warm, even trans positive. The people I've met your usual blend of backpackers and travelers. Neighborhood is nice, the locals were quick to help with a smile I understand there was some issues about understaffing, but for 12€ a night you can't exactly expect to be treated like royalty. If you're traveling on the cheap, this is the place to go in Antwerp

The hostel was ok very friendly staff but sadly they don't Care about Corona rules, we slept with 10 people in same room someone was coughing all night. I hoped it was just a cold. The next morning I started to become sick. 3 days later I tested positive for Corona.

The rooms don’t have lock, and although you think it costs a certain amount of money, they never tell you you have to pay obligatory for the bedsheets. The staff showed me my ved and said he will leave the sheets on top of it later and when I arrived, there was someone in my bed and I had to sleep in another bedd, without sheets, even though I payed them. The bathrooms are too dirty, the shower I had to take a bath in was broken, the rooms very disorganized and smelled terrible.

Not an opinion: just facts. •Rooms had no lock on the doors. • 2 bathrooms for more than 30 people and it did not have toilet paper. • 3 showers for the whole building. • It had a RAT running around the lobby. The only good thing is that we could do early check in.

Cheap and clean facility. Very friendly staff and helpful. When you make a reservation it's even cheaper than when you book at their reception. Look for their phone number on the homepage because on the reservation page they've made a mistake.

Couldnt have possibly had a better experience. We showed up around 11 at night and they hooked my wife and I up with a private room and helped us order food when we were desperately hungry. The 2 sisters who run the place are hysterical and really really caring. Also the best prices i saw in the entire city. Next time im in the area i would 100% stay here again.

Lovely staff in boomerang antwerp. One may easily access additional chillout place in back of building. Hanging out together felt like being part of a family. Old look of building gives it a charming appeal. Look out for little cute moths in the showers<3 #insectfriendly Since door opens with QR code you should watch that your device has sufficient charging. Overall 5*.

All the staff was very friendly. There is a spacious common room which makes you feel really at home with a chess game and couches. The toilets are clean and some rooms have a balcony with a nice view. The garden has a little basketball court and some couches as well. Overall a very pleasant experience!

Unbeatable hostel stay for price point. Centrally located. Comfortable beds. Warm clean showers. Good mix of travellers, has a lovely living room and court yard for socialising. Room doors don't have locks which I did not find problematic. There are secure lock and charge boxes in the rooms for valuables so bring a lock

We stayed in a women‘s dorm, and there weren‘t many other guests there, which was nice. The dorm we stayed in had a high ceiling and was very nice, the bathroom on the hallway was also nice and clean. The lobby, stairway and eating room were also very pretty. All in all, I‘ve felt like being in an old grand-hotel or one of those boarding schools from a tv series. There is also a nice backyard, perfect for a breakfast outside or meeting other guests. The staff were all very friendly, and the hostel was in a nice and safe neighborhood, not too far away from the city center. We always walked through the park to the busier streets of Antwerpen and even found our way home after a couple drinks. We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful city.

I would give this 0 stars if possible.. it was by far the worst accommodation I have ever stayed in or have ever witnessed! It was impossible to tell if the staff all lived there or of they were guests that were just close to the staff. One of the "staff" members were in the same room as young girls and it felt like we were constantly being watched. And as if that wasn't enough from the "staff/guest" she came into the room at 5:30am and turned on the main light in the room. Then at 6:00am she opened the curtains so that there was no hope of anyone sleeping in, no matter what they tried. The rooms would leave you with the impression they are trying to shove as many beds as possible in the one room regardless of if it was practical or not. Sardines in a can like. They were also the really cheap mattresses meaning that the floor probably would have been more comfortable. There is only 1 toilet per floor and about 20 people for that 1 toilet. The showers were small, horrible and not at all practical. When going for a shower there is no means of keeping your clothes dry as there isn't even a shower door or curtain. This is also not at all wheelchair friendly as there is about 15 steps up into the reception area alone and it is about a 30 minute walk from the town centre.

The room was clean and comfortable, the hostel is in walking distance to the train station and downtown while also being in a nice quiet neighborhood. The staff is amazing and super helpful! Great stay.

Enjoyed my stay. The staff is super friendly....family run hostel from Portugal. The common area looks cool. Wifi is good, location is good, price is good. Be aware that check in ends around 8pm , if you arrive later (as I did) you must call them and they will come from a few doors down to check you in. Great value.

Friendly staff, rooms were clean. Nothing special there. You can enter by scanning a QR code, which is useful. Negative: rooms are not locked for other guests (there are lockers though), and other guests were annoyingly loud.

This hostel counts with a huge lounge really cozy and looks really comfortable. Unfortunately, it was close together with the reception desk. I didn't get to enjoy the garden or the social areas. Although the staff was friendly, she was not around. The beds are comfortable and toilets and showers clean.

I know I can't expect a lot for this price, but my god, we barely got any sleep here. If you are not a party person, do not stay here. The reception actually facilitated loud music to be played till deep into the night, with a subwoofer pumping bass right through the paper thing walls into the ears of their guests, why?

Good location, very friendly and good very hard workers. Best greetings to Irina and another woman, i don´t know more her name, sorry. It was a wonderful travel. Thank you much, see you soon! Stay healthy and take care. Best regards from Ruslan, Germany.

The location was alright, the staff were hospitable and the place was cheap but: 1. The wifi was terrible and was not able to access it properly from the third floor 2. The toilet paper was not replaced once it was over 3. One of the beds that my friend had to sleep in was full of hair which indicated that they aren't changed on a regular basis 4. They had a kettle available but the kettle was not maintained properly and was TERRIBLE.

  • 1/5 Daan S. 1 year ago on Google
Very mediocre experience. They never picked up the phone (called six times on different occasions), didn't answer my e-mail when I tried to alter my reservation. Then when we arrive we get a bad attitude from the person at the reception. The reception also wasn't open most of the time we wanted to go in, even during times they mentioned on the website. Last but not least, the showers smelled very badly.
