If you are in the neighborhood, you wouldn't like to miss Sophienhof Lodge – the staff is extremely friendly (especially Cecile, the chef, who will teach you the names of the local foods in Damara, click click), the spacious and lovely decorated rooms and the diner made only from local products. A must!

Amazing place. The stay in the VIP house is a blast. Spectacular view, private heated pool and being a bit secluded makes it an unforgettable experience

Pretty good lodge, I was surprised at the buffet (it was mainly spaghetti and mince), but overall, it was good

Located between Etosha and Windhoek, this Lodge has some ok equipped rooms. We booked two rooms for two adults and two kids. Receptionist wanted to give us only one room. The rooms have two beds and no other place to sleep??? That was strange. We insisted in two rooms. Both are a bit stinky. The dinner is on a completely strange setting. They want to arrange a family dinner which no of the guests wanted to have. It’s a buffet style dinner with lots of mashy overcooked food that has no special taste. Staff is very friendly but that does not help the bad and unappealing food.

Incredible staff!!! Everyone working there made our stay lovely. They truly care about your well-being. The dinner is also very nice! The setting is cozy and you chan chose if you want your own table, or sit together with the other guests. The game drive they offer was one of the best experiences we had in Namibia. We saw lots of different animals and some surprises. The guide was absolutely lovely and you felt how he loved his job and the animals.💖 The rooms are very clean, but there‘s weird smell lingering in them, if you don‘t air out the room constantly. Other than that, the room has all the basics you need (with soap!) They don‘t clean the room during the stay, what was a bit unfortunate. The location is 1 hour drive away from Etosha. We had two days at Etosha so it was alright for us. There is a little hill hike in the area. Sadly the owner of the lodge came off as a bit unfriendly. All in all you get a good deal for the money you pay. I recommend staying here.😊

Amazing place. The game drive in the property allows to see a lot of animals. The cooks are excellent, best dinner we had in Namibia. Creative , tasty and local. Breakfast is good too with homemade jam and bread. We were in tent at the campsite , but the facilities were perfect. Nice swimming pool and the staff is so friendly and they take the time to chat.
