The hotel itself is great. Love the convenient location. We also dined in Chef Mickey and had a good time. The elevator is kind of slow though. You may need to be careful when you check in. For our recent visit, I checked in using the app and went to the room directly. It was a theme park view room, although I booked a bay view room. I thought it is a free upgrade. When I left, I was charged for the price of theme park view room. It is really not good practice to upgrade my room without asking me first. I would be happy to upgrade if someone asked me and give me the option when I checked in. Now it feels like I was forced to upgrade my room.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite in the garden wing and paid around $1100 a night. The room was spacious and decent (similar to a holiday inn i would say). However the garden wing is a solid 5-7 min walk from the actual hotel. Its very dated and depressing. The building is gross, the hallways are narrow and the ceiling is SO low. I felt claustrophobic walking the long walk to and from my room daily with my kids. For $1,100+ a night this is simply unacceptable. If I paid 1/2 that i would feel like I was getting what i paid for. Let me add that i booked this 6 months in advance. Our room came with access to the “club level” which is on the 12th floor of the main hotel. They had snacks/breakfast….Most of the time there was not even anywhere to sit for breakfast. They need larger plates. How do you expect anyone to eat a full breakfast off a tea saucer? Bottom line is if you can afford to pay $1000+ a night this is definitely NOT where you want to stay. It is walkable to magic kingdom which we liked.

Beautiful, clean and modern hotel within walking distance to the Magic Kingdom. The monorail runs through the hotel which is super convenient given how hot the weather can be - it's so nice to wait for it in the A/C. We stayed in a Garden View room in the garden wing, and loved how quiet and low key it was, as compared to staying in the main tower. It literally took us 2-3 minutes to walk over to the pool each day, we loved it! Front desk staff is kind and always looking to help. And there's a nice coffee/smoothie shop in the hotel lobby. Can't wait to stay again!

My first trip to Disney World was this past weekend and it was amazing. An experience I will never forget. Staying at the Contemporary made it even better. The monorail from the hotel to the parks was so fun. The entire staff made everything even better. We’re already planning another trip in 2026 and we’re definitely staying at the contemporary again. You should go to Disney and you should stay here.

We stayed at The Contemporary recently for seven nights and had an awesome time. The staff were wonderful and the room was great and exceptionally clean. There were lots of activities at the resort itself. Our kids loved the pool, especially because it was open late after a hot day at the parks. We enjoyed watching the nightly light show on the lake and the Magic Kingdom fireworks from our balcony. The Magic Kingdom view was a plus for sure. Travel between the parks was easy between the monorail and buses. I'd highly recommend The Contemporary and would stay here again!

I cannot begin to say enough good things about this truly exceptional hotel. My last visit was 30 years ago when I was a child and it has maintained its illustrious reputation. Visiting this fine establishment with my daughter is a memory I will cherish forever. In terms of convenience few hotels can compete with the Contemporary. How many hotels have a quiet monorail that will go through the building and take you to the Magic Kingdom in a matter of minutes? And did I mention there is no check-in! With the app, I went to straight to my room and I could open the door with my phone. While staying a premiere Universal Studio hotel, I had to wait an hour in line to check-in. The staff is extremely friendly. Chef Mickey's restaurant is perhaps the best character experience in Disney. The key characters like Mickey and Goofy will visit with your family and take many pictures. Guaranteed success with the little ones. It also has a nice selection of restaurants like Steakhouse 71. This is a marquee Disney Resort and room prices rival the Four Seasons. But make no mistake, this hotel is well worth it.

This was my first time staying at this resort and it was so perfect. Service is top notch and everyone is just so friendly and accommodating. They made my niece and nephew’s stay and first Disney trip so special. The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds are very comfortable. And the location is perfect. Love being able to take the monorail straight from the resort to Epcot and Magic Kingdom. We will definitely be staying here again!! Can’t recommend this resort enough!

Hotel is lacking an iconic lobby experience expected at Disney luxury locations (feels like a dated airport at best). Proximity to Magic Kingdom and easy monorail access are key perks of this location. Having a park view is a must. Rooms are clean but not worthy of a “luxury resort” title. There is so much amazing history at this location, I wish they would take note from the TWA hotel in NY, making this location’s history central to its aesthetics and vibe.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The location was convenient for heading to the Magic Kingdom and for restaurants at the Polynesian. There are some small things that I didn't expect at such an expensive hotel for example the bathroom door handle fell off. All of the staff was wonderful, and it was surprisingly quiet most of the night.

Beautiful rooms with The Incredibles theme. Bathroom in the room was amazing with a walk in shower, wonderful lighting and a separate closed off toilet. We did have an issue the very first night very late, but Tad at the front desk was fantastic with helping to resolve the issue. Todd and Jim with Concierge more than made up for our issue and really made some magical moments for us! The monorail was a fabulous amenity and the walk to Magic Kingdom was less than 5 minutes. Dining options at the resort were wonderful and convenient with everything being in the same building. Have stayed here before and will definitely stay here again!

Loved our stay here. We had a room with resort view. Totally amazing, watched the fireworks from our room. Easy access to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. We just really enjoyed sitting in our room watching the ferry, monorail, MK train and of course the castle. Very relaxing stay.

Being able to walk to Magic Kingdom is only one of the great features of staying at the Contemporary. Our room was by far the best I've stayed at on Disney property. The food is amazing. My daughter loved the pool and sand beach. We will definitely return.

The location of the room with the balcony was nice the bed mattresses are old. The staff was like checking in to any hotel and did not make anyone feel welcome. The Valley seemed overworked and did not seem welcoming. The bellhop was very nice. But there is no Disney magical experience. It could have been any other hotel

First time at the Contemporary and we have had a great time. The Cast Members have been amazing. Food is good. Proximity to Magic Kingdom by Monorail has been awesome.

Excellent rooms, great view of fireworks. What I didn't like was the service. Randomly (happened twice in 4 days staying there last week), the maid would show up at our door constantly knocking saying because they hadn't cleaned our room the prior day and needed to check the room to make sure it was ok. Um, no, you most certainly don't. Not appropriate in the slightest.

We ate here after spending the day at Epcot. The food was absolutely amazing. We enjoyed the three-course dinner. We finished dinner just in time to go out to the overlook to watch the firework show of Magic Kingdom. The view is wonderful and they play the music on speakers on the overlook.

First time at Disney's Contemporary Resort with the family. Service and rooms are great. I heard it has been renovated, which explains the clean rooms and the whole atmosphere. Food options are great, but as a resort, the downside of it is everything is closed at 11pm. The plus side is that you get a whole Disney experience and with an allergy in the family. Loved the extra activities and the support through the Idalia 🌀.

Possibly one of the most unique hotels you'll stay at in Florida or even the East Coast. If you are going to do a Disney Parks trip and can afford this place it's worth it just because of location and the monorail. But current pricing just makes it out of reach for most families. Only the rich can truly stay here. You may be able to get discounts through Disney website or through a Disney vacation rental website. The food here is great and they have many options including a character dining. The workers are always friendly and helpful and it's a great place to just enjoy and walk around. It would be 5 stars but the manager at this resort has chosen to no longer allow the use of the boat transportation to save money. This makes this place worth even less. It's a really bad decision by the manager and ruins the experience of this resort being on the lake.

This resort is so beautiful and conveniently located. There are yummy restaurants and a couple cute shops inside the resort. You can walk to magic Kingdom from the resort in about 10 minutes or take the monorail that goes right through the resort. The hotel staff was friendly, kind and quick with any requests we had. The rooms are so comfortable, pretty and newly renovated. The pool is also gorgeous, with a big slide and 2 hot tub spas. 10/10 recommend anyone to stay here!

The best part of this resort are the monorails. I could sit and watch them all day. Really had fun hopping here! The lobby smelled incredible and there was plenty to see.

Centrally located with accessible parking and facilities. The monorail runs right through the hotel, so you can jump right on and get to Magic Kingdom conveniently. Recently renovated, this is one of the oldest resorts at Disney World. This resort has great amenities, restaurants, and fun character encounters. Chef Mickey is one of our favorite places to visit. Family friendly and welcoming environment. The menu recently changed. They added some menu items and turned it into a buffet style restaurant. Five characters (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald Duck, and Pluto) come to your table for the opportunity to take pictures and get autographs. Maybe one day we will get to see Daisy. Both children and adults can enjoy the experience. Definitely recommend. Review is based on personal experience, and it is not sponsored.

If you have young children. Make sure you go to Chef Mickey's. It's phenomenal. If you have reservations and get there when they open, you might get chosen to be Mickey's guests. My children had that very opportunity many years ago. They opened up the restaurant with Mickey. It was amazing and a fantastic memory for a lifetime

Sleek look but poor sound insulation. Very cool how all the rooms open up into the massive lobby, and the rooms have a modern design with ample access to outlets and pleasant lighting. However, and maybe it was just my room's location at the far end of the lowest floor, but starting at 5:45 I was able to hear the clink as the restaurant started preparing places. Then around 6 I could hear kids in the lobby -- not screaming, just normal kid volume, but the sound echoed up and right through my door. I'm a light sleeper though and my wife slept fine.

Very nice place to stay. Convenience of monorail service in the resort is unbeatable. Rooms are nice, well appointed, and comfortable to sleep in. Stayed on club level which gave us a regular selection of small plates, desserts, and snacks. I expect access to this saved us enough $ versus buying meals elsewhere at Disney to more than cover the additional cost.

What an absolutely awesome place to stay & visit the hotel was so clean. The staff work tirelessly making sure your stay is memorable. We managed with the manager & manageress help get into Chef Mickeys diner & know wonder its always booked up the waitresses are amazing & cater for all your needs, then the characters keep coming round constantly to have photos & sign autograph books. The food was lovely so much to choose from & plenty of it. If you can get in you will not be disappointed. Well worth a visit or 2 cos its so memorable

Today we spent the day at the Disney's Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World. The resort is at a walking distance from the Magic Kingdom and you can also get to the park by taking the monorail. All the Cast members were very friendly. The resort has a few Disney shops, restaurants and a nice pool area with a water pad for kids to play and a few outside activities. They also have a bar outside and some beautiful spots to enjoy the weather outside.

Excellent location about 10 min walk from magic Kingdom. Club level service was excellent. Stayed in newly renovated atrium level standard room. Club level Concierge Rachel was the most helpful. Pricey resort but you get what you pay for Food amenities in lounge also delicious and excellent with theme park views.

An amazing property walking distance to the Magic Kingdom. This is the resort that my family has been staying at for the past 10 years. Rooms are immaculate, staff is very helpful and kind. The best hotel experience we have had with Disney! It is a great mix of Disney fun and a relaxing getaway for kids and adults alike. The hotel has a fun energy but also has a lot of relaxing amenities.

Can't beat the location! Pricing is high, especially just to lay down and shower, but ambiance and location is key. Food options on site were solid. Visit Chef Mickey's for Disney character fun. Watch Magic Kingdom fireworks from the California Grill on top of the resort.

One of the best resorts at Disney!! A classic and still very new! Can not get closer to the monorail and a beautiful walk to Magic Kingdom and Grand Floridian. The staff and the maid service are the best in any industry hands down! You make it magical. Thank you! Everyone waved and says hello! Will be back soon, since I can’t actually live there. :)

Cannot beat this location! Easy access to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT (monorail). If you’re traveling with littles, get the Minnie van for the other parks (they come ready with car seats and plenty of space). The pool was clean, food was delicious, character dining at every meal, staff was top-notch. A phenomenal experience.

The best location to be close to the magic kingdom. It is busy with non-resort guests but the atmosphere is like none other on Disney property. Lots of good food and shopping options. Cast members are always top notch.

Stopped to rest at one of the first upscale Disney resorts and I was pleasantly surprised how well maintained and gorgeous it is on the inside. Huge convention rooms and Mickey Chefs Kitchen in the main floor for the kiddos. Still an amazing resort after all these years

This is a great resort! I love the convenience of it! There are fun shops with unique items to choose from. Great restaurants. An arcade too!A character meet up in the Chef Micky restaurant, and for a date night, Steakhouse 71 is amazing.

This lovely hotel is all updated! The beds were super comfy! We had absolutely the best room service you can ask for. It is conveniently located to the monorail that rides right through the building and we were able to just get on the monorail and go right into the Magic Kingdom. We had great breakfast reservations and had character breakfast every morning! The staff and the hotel was super helpful with everything we asked. We so enjoyed our stay at the Contemporary Resort!! Very accessible for handicap people and great shopping inside the hotel as well.

We didn't stay here we had dinner at the steak house. The food was excellent. I had the filet and red wine sauce. So good. It is small but filling. Others had the prime rib and sauce flight. Steaks were huge and we could have shared. We also ordered the bread, so delicious. The salad was great. The chocolate cake is a must order. The water was great, Andrew. Accommodated our daughter's dietary needs great and even brought her a treat at the end. So sweet. We will definitely be going back

My wife and I were doing the tour of the resorts when we visited The Contemporary. It is showing its age a bit and there were hardly any Christmas decorations inside. It is still a relatively cool looking hotel with a giant atrium. Unfortunately, trying to get a reservation for a restaurant is nearly impossible without months of advance planning. A hostess at Chef Mickey's was kind enough to give us a complimentary dessert plate which was fabulous. My wife and I were seated in the Outer Rim bar right next to the walkway into the restaurant. The Contemporary has a walkway over to the Magic Kingdom which is very convenient. As everyone knows, the monorails go right through the hotel so it is pretty convenient to pick up a ride.

Beautiful hotel for sure. Nice stores inside. Very friendly and welcoming staff. We were staying at another hotel but we came here to have breakfast/brunch with check Micky. My daughter loved all the characters coming to say hi to our table. The food was okay, $45 dollar per adult for breakfast it’s too high but again you paying for the experience, I wish they could just leave it as a buffet style so everyone can get what they want and how much they want instead of bringing few items at the table and that’s it. Our server was great.

  • 5/5 Anthony P. 1 year ago on Google
We had the most amazing dinner at the California Grill. The food, the service, all of it was top notch. We were lucky enough to have a seating time around 9 so we got to see the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom. All of it made for a memorable evening. No one does it like Disney!!!
