I have been visiting this place for 13 years. Used to be good but not anymore. Food quality plummeted. On a good day you get okay food. But twice I got terrible food like today: bitter soup with burnt paprika and main dish without any taste. Guests sitting next to me were complaining about their food, too. Halušky tastes like sand, bryndza is not real bryndza, but a mixture od sheep and cow milk - that's not bryndza, that's cheap fake. Waiter himself said they make "bryndza" like this. Ladies working in the bakery NEVER smile and usher you to order. Feels like a Thai market. Waiters are like 16yo, posh like Instagram models. Are you picking them among high school queens? You cannot pay by card anymore, cash only. 21st century, hello! Pricing policy is beyond ridiculous: they charge you per slice of bread with your soup! Is this third world? They always charge me more than I actually eat, then I'm forced to take it up with the waiter. Wake up! You order meat stew. This is usually eaten with halušky, but you have to pay separately for halušky. Like what am I expected to eat it with, bread or salad? Ridiculous. I'll avoid this place in the future. It's not worth it.

Brydzove pirohy were ok, served cold… a bit chaotic when waiting for seating. Tbh an overhyped place imo.

Good stop on the way from West to East. They cook well. You can buy some tasty bakery products or local cheese products. Only down is that they may be a bit more expensive than around places but they are wash more tastier.

It's a compound with a restaurant, a stand that sells their home-made cheeses and a small bakery with pastries made in that place. We bought a few pastries, and all of them were very tasty! The kids enjoyed playing at the small playground in the compound and watching the farm animals raised there. It's a fun stop

Amazing place to visit - authentic local buildings, bakery, restaurant, little farms. Good stop to wander around for a bit. Full of creative wooden sculptures

The only downside of a new highway to Eastern Slovakia would be missing this great place as the halušky hear are simply amazing. The restaurant follows a fast food philosophy (quickly sit down, order, eat, leave) without compromising quality and atmosphere. Indeed a must-go. The only downside is cash-only payments but that is negligible compared to what Krajinka offers. Also do not miss out on buying delicious cheese products from the shop and a snack for later for the bakery (if it is open when you are around).

You can find local Slovak food here. I really recommend it. The starter plate with various cheeses is really good and gives you a perspective of what you can expect. I would also recommend the garlic soup.

Good farm where we usually buy any kind of farm products like cheese or butter. Restaurant food is just ok. Territory of the farm is very cute, clean and well decorated.

Meals made from local cheese at affordable prices. No wonder why this restaurant is so popular. There's a cheese shop, a bakery and a small farm around. Recommended.

It seems like it is in the middle of "nowhere", fresh air, spacy restaurant with a possibility to sit outside and with an outdoor kids playing space. You can also see some cows, ponny, donkey outside. The food was more or less Slovakian, it had a good taste, and my Slovakian wife also said it was good so..service was good. Overall a good experience

Nice place, but I would say over crowded with people, sometimes people sit themselves instead of waiting for waitress and they make staff angry, food was ok, prices affordable

Popular typical Slovakian restaurant / "Salaš" and also sheep's milk products shop. Really top-class local cuisine, actually probably one of the best.. Have a national meal "Halušky" of any style or wonderful Hungarian beef goulash and you'll wont regret it. Although it is amost always very busy, the staff is fast and friendly. And all these fine meals are not pricey at all. After lunch don't forget to take home some superb chees or "žinčica" milk in the outside wooden shop. It is a must!

Restaurant Salaš Krajinka near Ružomberka (Liptov) is a culinary jewel in the middle of the beauty of nature. This restaurant with a rich history dating back to 1983 proudly maintains its traditional quality and offers an authentic taste of Slovak cuisine. One of the restaurant's highlights is its outdoor seating area, allowing guests to bask in the natural beauty of Liptov while savoring delicious meals. During the summer, visitors can indulge in various cheese-based dishes and freshly baked bread, creating a delightful outdoor dining experience. Salaš Krajinka doesn't just excel in ambiance; its menu boasts a plethora of delectable treats. From the exquisite Žinčiča drink to homemade Slovak specialties like Bryndzové halušky (dumplings with sheep cheese), bryndzová polévka (sheep cheese soup), Vyprážaný ovčí syr (fried sheep cheese), Jahňací perkelt (lamb stew), and kapustnica (cabbage soup), every dish is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to culinary excellence. I wholeheartedly recommend trying their delectable offerings – each dish is a flavorful celebration of Slovakia's rich culinary heritage. Don't miss the chance to indulge in these delightful local delicacies.

There are few animals, a playground and great pastries. Worth a small detour if you in the area. There is also a restaurant there, but we haven't tried it.

very nice traditional slovak food. the atmosphere is very traditional and amazing for small kids. it is a great stop on your travels. there always a lot of people during lunch so try to arrive bit before the lunch peak time. if you wait in the line, your kids can still run and enjoy animals and attractions around.

Awesome restaurant (everything with regional ingredients of highest quality) in a beautiful farm. There's a tractor museum and you can visit see the animals, there's a small bakery and a cheese shop as well. Don't miss it!

Love to stop here on the way to North, around 4pm there was a queue of like 15 people, but it went down steadily. Food is great as every time. Cash only 🤷🏻‍♂️

We had an amazing dinner! The restaurant is part of a gorgeous sheep farm so many ingredients are fresh, local specialties. You can find traditional Slovakian dishes with a variety of sheep cheese in outstanding quality! Great options for vegetarians too. The service is nice and quick, they speak English very well! Only downside is that they don't accept card payment.

Delicious Slovakian food. Absolutely lovely. Also has a great view into the sheep yards from the restaurant. The location of the restaurant is beautiful in itself with the mountains around you and some animals to see. Note that there is no English on the menu they hand out by default. I was with some Slovak folks so I didn't bother asking to see if they have an English menu or not. (update - I went again, still excellent, and yes they have an English menu)

Very tasty food, deliciouse halušky, amazing bean soup. Unfortunatelly bussy place, they forgot about me so I was waiting around 40 minutes...

Very good atmosphere and food. Don't forget to look at the sheep while you are there. You can see them through the glass window in the restaurant :).

Halusky were quite mediocre, cabbage soup was great and cheese plate was fine, place is overcrowded, cash only in 2022 is complete joke

Wonderfull stop to stretch your legs, see beautifully carved architecture in picturesque setting of green hills with grazing sheep. Sometimes smaller animals are just wondering around the perimeter and our kiddos love it! Food is offered as take out in buildings all over. So pack up on string cheese and top baked goods. The restaurant is also great - if not full, as it is a very popular place.

Great. Wonderfull. At restaurant, you must try sheep cheese food. Local bakery is great also and affordable. During summer, animals are free to move around. It's normal, that you will meet a pig on a parking lot

Beautiful place with options to buy famous slovak cheese, cakes and much more. The restaurant is not that expensive although the menu is maybe limited according to someone.

Beautiful view, nice animals walking around outside. The food was good, but some say it has changed. Unfortunately I only got to try it two weeks ago not ten years ago.
