So much space yet not enough room for the animals to roam. If it was kept only as a bird sanctuary and botanical park I would give it a high score. However, lots of enclosures for the animals were too small for their size and were also dirty and obviously had not been cleaned for awhile. It made me upset for a lot of the animals that were being kept there whom were obviously suffering from the environment that they were being kept in particularly the large and amall mammals and the large turtles, tortoises, the large water snakes and the foxes. It is not an "ecological" farm. It's a vet that wants to keep wild animals as pets but can't properly take care of them.

My favorite animal-related place in Taiwan. Why yes, I did get free vouchers to come here from the Taiwan government but I would gladly pay admission to come again. Ironically this is a private organization so you can see it is no Hsinchu zoo. I love the release of the alpacas from their animal pens even though I know it's dangerous. They come bounding around and are absolutely out of control. I bought a stuffed animal alpaca with the intention of taking a photo of it with the real one. The employees are so nice and even let me take the stuffed alpaca out of its packaging to examine the quality. Later, they even switched it out with another alpaca doll that they thought looked better. Btw love the tropical button-ups uniforms that the workers are wearing. The souvenirs are decently priced. I also bought a rainbow 🌈 alpaca purse that can't hold anything. There are nice animal shows. I happened to be sitting underneath the exact place that a sloth was gnawing on some vegetables for one of these. What a delight! Some are other highlights are the pelicans (elegant S-shaped birds), the rabbits, and the chickens. There are also very pretty paths if you want to take a nice strolls. This is basically a zoo and not a preserve pushing a green agenda as the name suggests. They also revamped the place in the last couple of years and there are now binoculars and other new things. The only downside is that the food is terrible and expensive but no matter.

Such a nice place to visit if your kids are interested in nature or animals. Food choices have a room for improvement.

Recommend to visit on a weekend to avoid crowds, went on a Monday and the place had very few guest so my visit was very peaceful. A lot of the animals here are free roaming, highlights would be the alpacas whom are given 3 timings to roam around a large grassy area near the entrance. Animals and plants here at well taken care of which was really nice, take note timings for shows and animal free roaming are up to 3pm so best to come early. This place is also very out of the way deep in the mountains and walking will be challenging as the road in is long and full of steep climbs, best to take a private transport in like Uber.

Alpacas are awesome. Has a pretty cool cute animal region too. Do take note that alpacas wont come out if it rains. All 3 sessions rained when I was here but they were nice enough to let 5 out on the last session despite the drizzle.

The last time we’ve visited Green World was around 2013ish, it was fun and was quite an experience. However, this year (2024), we visited again with our 6yo son but unfortunately, it didn’t get the upgrade I was hoping for. The Alpacas and the Bird Ecological Park is really fun, not so much with the Magic seeds area, herbs plants area etc. because it wasn’t well taken care of. Walking around the farm is enjoyable during winter but I’m not sure during summer months, so if you plan to visit during summer prepare everything from umbrellas and fans because summer in Taiwan can be quite brutal. Bring water and snacks as well, the snacks are quite pricey inside. I’ve seen a lot of family picnicking around the ground. The only restaurant I’m looking forward in this farm is the Hakka Ancient restaurant. This is where we took our lunch, the food is yummy and the price is affordable (they offer unlimited rice with no additional price). Wear hiking/comfortable shoes because you’ll be walking a lot, but if you’re not up to it, you can always buy a shuttle ticket inside the farm.
