It is indescribable when you approach Venice by boat and see all these beautiful buildings reflected in the water. It is also pleasant to ride along the Grand Canal with the Vaporetto and enjoy the beautiful palaces along the canal. Arriving in Venice by train also has its own charm, when you are waiting for a transfer at the main station, you are already taken over by this disease called Venice.

Main canal of Venice which connects all other small canals in city. All ferries run through this canal and islands near to Venice are connected through this canal. All ferry stops are in this canal, so we can get to all tourist attractions, train stations and main Venice airport from any of the ferry stops in the canal. Famous bridge like Rialto are over this canal.

The Grand Canal is the largest and most famous canal in Venice. It is nearly four kilometers long and separates one half of Venice from the other. The Grand Canal of Venice, Italy defines the perfect blend of romantic boat rides and attractive ancient architecture.

Amazing sites for photos, especially during golden hour. The Grand canal stretches and weaves its way through the islands of Italy and it is where the highway that is Venice is located. The bus system travels through the Grand canal and by bus I mean water bus. I highly recommend taking the water bus even for fun as an alternative to the gondola because it is infinitely cheaper. 10 euros!

Most important "road" in Venice and definitely a must-see. We totally recommend to take the waterbus or watertaxi or a gondola to see the whole Canal Grande. Also having strolls next to the Canal Grande is really, really nice. So if you're in Venice, don't miss it.

The very beautiful Grand Canal runs throughout Venice, it’s very nice. It has lots of museums and places to visit along the way as well as it connects to other various channels and smaller canals throughout the city. There are some nice places to get a better view of the canal, and when your in Venice you won’t be able to miss it as your most certainly going to pass by it several times a day.

Fun, vibrant, and beautiful! This unique and big Cannel is like the freeway on the water and the major artery of the Venice! I can not imagine that the Venice will survive without this master piece! It is also a live, moving picture on the water, with a lot of history were written, and a lot of fun things happening every day! You will never get bored when you travel on the Grand Cannel. Sometimes, I feel like that I was in a movie or a childhood play ground, with the fun water buses, historical mansions, and beautiful buildings along the Cannel. I have been in Venice twice, but I will never have enough of it!

There you will see the Venice we see in photos, movies & read about in books. Beautiful old buildings on both sides, gondolas in the canal. The scene is even better around the sunset time. Whether you are having dinner at one of the restaurants, sitting in a gondola or even just walking. I had an amazing feeling just being there. Best views from the Rialto bridge or (even better) from the rooftop of the Fondaco Dei Tedeschi shopping center.

The Grand Canal is the main waterway and lifeline of this world-famous lagoon city on the Adriatic. Venice wouldn't be Venice without the Grand Canal! Along the canal there are impressive palaces, museums, churches, hotels and many well-known sights right on the bank. A magnificent scenery! Colors, facades and unique photo opportunities! This applies to the day and also to Venice at night! This is where life takes place, as the city is only supplied by boats. A magnificent spectacle against a historical backdrop that you cannot miss!

The Grand Canal of Venice is super impressive and serves as the emblem of this beautiful city. It is always great to get a watertaxi in the canal and take in the views - there is no experience quite like it!

Main channel of island with view on many famous buildings, plus fancy cruises aside the Canal. Access to Grand Canal is available with public transportation, depends on the area you wish to go. Enjoy mild wind on the sea!

Ah Venice... The Grand Canal definitely does not disappoint. Interwoven with smaller channels and canals it snakes through the heart of the city. You can stop at the various small ports with a short trip to museums and famous old houses some of which are open to the public. There are other attractions and lovely historic buildings line the banks. A gondola ride is a must to take in the sights of this amazing canal.

Seeing it in films, on television or magazine simply does not do Venice justice...One must see it with there own eyes...Superb! Took the train from Verona early and spent the day taking in this visual feast! Fell in love with it all! Resident Cowboy of Portugal since 2016

Though much crowded now, it still has something special about it, this Grand Canal at Venice. Take a Gondola or one of the motor boats and ride once in the historic waterways for sure if you are here.

The Grand Canal – flows through the 6 districts of Venice. Many smaller canals eventually lead to this Grand Canal. This canal is beautiful to see from the shore, but a boat trip is even better to experience the Venice landmarks and sights from the water. You must have done this at least once in your life. About halfway along the Grand Canal is the famous Ponte di Rialto . This covered pedestrian bridge has many shops where you can buy your souvenirs.

We traveled by water bus at the Grand Canal in Venice all the time when we were there. The Grand Canal is so beautiful whether we are in there or looking from far away or on top of a bridge. Some reviews said the water is smelly. But fortunately, the weather was cold when we were there. The water doesn't smell at all. The views of the Grand Canal are almost like I'm in a painting! It almost looks unreal to me!

It's a nice experience to ride on the main sea highway in Venice. Cars turn into boats and everything that is usually transportedon the road, here it drives on the sea (from trash, to cargo, police, emergency, trucks and buses). Everything rides on the water ;)

Just great. I think this is the main part of Venice, where one must take the boat and enjoy. Interestingly on the first Sunday of June this canal gets filled with rowing boats of various colours from various destinations. Wonderful and much more from the sky.

The Grand Canal runs through Venice forming a winding S-shaped waterway, passing through most of the main tourist attractions in the city. Busy and impressive

Beautiful grand canal of Venice. It provides awesome views all around. You may also take a romantic gondola tour here. It's bit expensive as 80euros for a half hour tour, but it was well worth it. The sunset views are specially spectacular.

The Grand Canal in Venice, Italy, is a significant waterway in the city, serving as a major route for water traffic. The Grand Canal holds fame for various reasons: the magnificent palaces adorning its shores, the elegant bridges spanning its waters, its role in connecting the city's top attractions, and, of course, the enjoyable gondola rides that offer a fun way to enjoy it all!

I've to admit that I don't like a smell here but this place is very beautiful and classic. All I can say, it's a place you should not missed in this life. And the food is so great!
