Battle of the Somme Memorial Garden

👍👍 A very well maintained memorial, a lovely place to visit for some quiet reflection. Even though it is on the main road when you enter the garden it becomes quiet and the traffic noise fades into the distance. Well worth a visit.

Runnymede Air Forces Memorial

👍👍 One of the most moving places that I have ever been. We visited on a damp Sunday afternoon when there were very few people there; it was amazingly peaceful, beautiful and a fitting memorial to those killed whilst serving in the RAF. Laid out chronologically and alphabetically, I was able to find my...

👍👍 I have been past the site so many times, this time I wanted to see what it was like. The weather was perfect. The grounds are immaculate. The toilet and cafe the same. The climb to the top of the tower is not too bad, the view from the top is well worth the climb. It's just a lovely place to visit.

👍👍 Very moving memorial to the airmen that lost their lives in the Mi Amigo tragedy. The memorial is worth a visit as is knowing more about this forgotten story of WW2. I wonder how many Sheffield people owe their lives to these brave US servicemen?

👍 The memorial is heartfelt and leaves you with a sense of sadness over all those who died. The beach opposite is a shale beach and very nice. Small car park fills up very quickly, so get there early. You have a choice of 1,2,3,4 or 12 hours so if you have a day planned for the beach it's 12 hours for...

Southampton Cenotaph
Memorial
👍👍 ….At the going down of the Sun and, in the morning, we SHALL remember them. Please be respectful of this place and review it for what it stands for. They gave their lives so we could have ours. Posting derogatory comments about the surroundings is not helpful and vitriolic.

👍👍 This section of the castle was by far my favourite. With the magnificent memorial you truly feel the power and commemoration of those who lost their lives fighting for what they loved. The added no photography rule makes this place feel so much more special as to not disturb or disrespect those who...

New Zealand War Memorial
War memorial
👍👍 A modern war memorial which stands in strong contrast with the more traditional memorials in the nearby area. Numerous black metal crosses emerge from the earth. At eye level, the crosses remind me of metal 'hedgehogs' used in defensive warfare. As you walk among them - and you really do walk among...
