👍👍 I always love visiting this trail head. So many options to take. I live in Colorado now and these foothills in Albuquerque are truly a gem. Many great spots to view the city, run, bike, hike, walk.

Embudito Trailhead
Hiking area
👍👍 My favorite trail to South peak. First two miles are no shade but the rest is beautiful. Almost 12 miles round trip. And the most Elevation change out if all the trails if you are looking for a challenge. I made my new record on this day 4 hours and 1 minute.

👍👍 I hadn't heard of this place. I had asked someone where she liked to hike, and she said the foothills. So, later that day I looked at the landscape to see the hills, and found this park.
I would recommend wearing hiking shoes (I was wearing sandals, and I couldn't go as high up the hill I had desir...

👍 I loved checking out the petroglyps, easy hike and only about 2.2 miles. I visited this place just before the balloon fiesta so I am not from the area. 👍👍 First: DON'T FOLLOW The GOOGLE MAP!!
It will take you to a wrong place. You have to go "Copper Trailhead" and start from there. It was about 4 miles moderate to difficult hikes if you take the whole loop, but definitely worth it with some great views. Trails are not well marked and you could lost th...

👍👍 Nice little spot on the outskirts of Eastern Albuquerque. Multiple trails crisscross the place. A lot of hills so be prepared for some exercise. Not suitable for those who can't handle steep terrain with loose rocks. Otherwise a great exercise spot. The hills guarantee a good cardio. The day I disco...
