I'm gonna be completely honest here - everything was perfect (the food, the atmosphere, the service etc), until the bill came, and the waiter showed me the bill and told me that was the amount, but then I could type in any number I wanted to pay (basically implying for us to tip him). We are clearly foreigners (Asians), and I was slightly taken aback because I had not experienced this so far in our trip here in Norway, nor did I think Norway was a country that asked for tips. So I felt like he might have thought that we are Americans and tried asking for me to tip him. I did anyway, because I felt obliged to, but it def ruined the otherwise amazing experience we had there for lunch.

Delicious Norwegian food served here. Nice and cosy ambience too. The fish soup is milky and flavourful. The ingredients in the soup, fish and shrimps were so fresh. The focaccia with chicken was just as good too. This restaurant is self-service except for the dishes ordered. As for coffee, you can give this place a miss.

My burger was very good but different side burgers here are almost like two sandwiches. The desserts are lacking but you still get a very good meal in a prime location.

Receptionist was decidedly offhand. Instant response was:”; “We are fully booked with reservations “. And “its holiday season”. Hmmm strange as in the Lounge area there were guests having soup! Followed by a main course! Holiday season! When Norwegians are all back at school etc. and the cruise ships have departed earlier! Finally, 20 mins later she asked us if we wanted to eat..!we declined. Nevertheless we opted to have a drink instead and go elsewhere for our dinner.. However, a very different experience with the barman who was really friendly and personable (now he’s the type of staff you want to keep) plus he was knowledgeable about the wine. His suggestion turned out to be excellent. The ambiance is pleasant. The location is central. Would I come again? Given the non-welcome by the receptionist No as it sets the wrong tone thereafter.

Italian pizza with good taste, lousy consistency on the bottom. Slightly undercooked. Served on a plate that makes the bottom soft. No questions about whether the food tasted good on the way. Got the question when I had to pay. Couldn't take it the complaint along the way d I was hungry Said sorry and apologized. Half price as compensation. Here they have to look at bast or other breathable material that keeps the bottom hard.

Had a very enjoyable dinner. Anno has a nice selection of choices for dinner. Also - they have some simple choices as well such as two pages of pizza , a burger, duck confit and other options. The photos tell some of the tasty story. We would recommend and will visit again on our next trip.

It's a cozy, modern restaurant with partial view of the water that shines with great service and quite possibly the best fish soup I have ever had in my life. Creamy, delicious goodness full of seafood. Definitely the highlight of my visit to Ålesund.

The fastest service we have gotten in Norway. Food was good but very salty, especially the fish soup (more like a bowl of very salty sauce than soup). Klippfiske was salty too but that was to be expected. Pizza was really good. Recommend booking ahead for their basement seating which sits directly on the water.

The food, I had the confit of duck with risotto and asparagus, was simply perfect my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The atmosphere was pleasant with water views. Even though I was by myself they seated me at a table in the main room looking out at the water. The server was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend

I had a wonderful fish dish with mussels Super-size !!! This would make a great appetiser for two people. And then glass of wine. The service was incredibly good and very attentive. I think I was using the lunchtime menu or the crossover menu. If you’re coming in on a cruise ship, this is about a six minute walk from the pier.

The food was absolutely amazing! We had the pan fried scallops and the duck confit risotto both beautifully presented and delicious! Finished the meal with the chocolate cake with licorice ice cream - absolutely sublime!
