Fantastic views from up here, not only over Ålesund, but the sea to the North, East and South. We were here on a clear day and the views were truly incredible. We walked along the hill from the stadium so had great views each way. We also explored the various bunkers by the view point. I glad that they’re open to have a look around. Some of them are quite big, so bring a torch!

With cafe and scenic view of the fjord and the city on top. You just need a bit of hike going up but you won’t even sweat. Easy and kid friendly.

Beautiful views, try the stairs if you have time and are brave enough,it seems better when it's not packed. Otherwise, you can use the hop on hop off bus or the cute train. The views are breathtaking, and just below it, you'll see some war bunkers( for the history fanatic like me). It's a hikers haven with so many trails.

Great view, must see! We drove up there instead of taking the stairs because we only stayed a few hours in Ålesund. It’s a bit icky that you have to pay to get the best view. It’s fine if the money go to the kommune, but if it’s a private establishment it’s really really trashy. Especially since you couldn’t even enjoy a coffee or a meal there. We did pay to get in tho, we weren’t gonna miss that.

If you’re in Alesund, this is a MUST do! Yes, it’s a big climb, yes it will tucker you out, but I can do it, you can too! There are 418 steps to the top, but that’s after quite a bit of an uphill walk. The views are absolutely amazing! Every few steps, they get better and better! And, when you finally get to the top, there is a little cafe where you can rest yourself! There are several benches on the way up for when you might need a break. It can get busy and access to the limited handrails can be competitive. When we reached the top, we saw there was a hop on, hop off bus stop, so even if the climb isn’t your thing, you can still get to see the views.

Very nice view of Ålesund below, and also some hiking trails around to explore the area. Very busy in the summer season, and lots of tour buses to block the roads, so it's better to come during off times to get some peace. I can imagine that sunsets would look amazing from here.

Beautiful viewpoint. Lots of history around- wind vine and bunkers from the German invasion of Norway in WWII. Stunning views and a lovely cafe

Must go in Alesund. We took the taxi from the hotel to the viewpoint and walked down. The weather is nice, and the view is magnificent. There is a coffee shop, and you can order lamb stew lunch set (NOK 195) or just have a cup of coffee inside.

Beautiful views. The stairs up are a challenge...but there are plenty of seats along the way to take a breather. Well worth the walk up if you're able to do it. We also found a bunker from the war. Used our flashlights on our phones and crawled in.

Fantastic view, well worth the trek up the 408 steps. I have a fear of hights and could manage it, it’s not too narrow and there are some seats on the way to rest. You can either pay 100 NOK to access the view on top or you can buy something in the cafe and then go up the stairs inside. Alternatively, you can go a bit higher up and enjoy the view for free.

Buy the funicular tickets online so you don't have to wait in the ticket line. There's a second line to actually get on the funicular that took about 20 minutes. The view is great. There's a small coffee shop at the top. Everything else was closed.

The wind was gusting and the rain pouring. But even then it was worth the jaunt up the stairs. Your effort to the top rewards you with a really cool view of EVERYTHING. Hopefully you get an extra clear day. Now if you don't want walk the stairs, there is a parking lot at the top....maybe.
