This hostel was the cheapest in Da Nang, right in the centre and had included breakfast. (Eggs and bread) the staff were lovely and helped us book buses for cheaper than 12go Asia prices and also offered motorbike rental. Only thing to note is that if you are planning on visiting monkey mountain you can do on a tour which is quite expensive. Or you can do it yourself but only with a semi-automatic bike which we didn’t know. If you haven’t driven one before it’s like learning to drive a car for the first time (really hard) so you have to get a tour otherwise. Also go visit the dragon bridge on a weekend it breathes fire totally worth seeing it’s so cool!

Probably the most stingy hostel I came across in over a year of travelling. Towel was a tiny 30cm by 60cm size. But granted that a towel was provided is a perk. The fact that they shut the air conditioning in the room from 8am to 8pm shows how stingy they are. Dont bother going climbing down the stairs to ask for the air con. They will give various excuses - fire prevention, preventing air con from breaking down - too much electricity consumption. They forget you are a paying guest. Even at night, the staff will come in to the room, see you are there and switch or the air conditioning without warning. No other hostel go the extra mile to make your stay so uncomfortable by constantly ensuring the air conditioning is not used!

Brilliant location. Great price. Comfortable beds. Proper hot showers. Roomy dorms. Spacious feel. Good breakfast with great coffee. Peaceful upstairs roof bar and lounge area. Social area on the ground floor too. Lovely, friendly owner and staff. Stayed here twice for those reasons. Don't miss the dragon breathing fire bridge. It's a short weekend show at nine in the evening. It really is worth stopping for ..

Friendly employees, amazing rooms, great rooftop/chill area. If I would open my own hostel, I would not make much different. All in all, a fantastic Hostel!

Good facilities, really nice staff at the reception (owner seemed also very nice), exceptionally fair pricing for drinks. However, on my second night there, the young guy came into the dorm at 2 am with a newly arrived guest - he just turned on the main light and talked very loud without even trying not to wake everybody up. Never experienced anything like that and i struggled to fall asleep again as i just got pulled out of a deep sleep. Rooms are also very warm as the ac is set to a high temperature and there is mosquitos everywhere in the house. The older lady, younger boy and the rest of the stuff never smiles and put my motorbike into the rain to park their private scooters at one of the dry parking spots instead...

I enjoyed my stay here. As described they have provided everything, toiletries including toothbrush and toothpaste!! Fresh towels, breakfast and off course the place was cleaned every day! I would stay here again. Also not to forget the staff, they were very supportive for all my requirements (currency exchange, early check-in, bike rental and local touring tips etc)

We stayed here with a family of 5 persons. Rooms are very clean and spacious. The staff is very helpful...laundry service was done pretty fast (we had a lot of laundry 😎)...location is perfect as well. I would book this again if we would ever revisit Danang.

Super cool hostel with lovely staff, really friendly and helpful. One off the best (non party) hostels I stayed during my trip.

The location was perfect and the hostel was very nice. The staff in the hostel were really helpful thanks to Tam, Eve, Lazy, Anh, Dat, Thao and Lam. Lam provided me some great suggestions on where to eat and what to eat. The two old people at the hostel were also were kind and helpful. Overall a great hostel with some nice people. I recommend to everyone.

The hostel is pretty decent for the price it is available at. Rooms while not very contemporary, they are spacious and cozy enough. There is a bit of oldish vibe to the room (not necessarily in a pleasant way) but one can get immediately use to it. Service is overall good. But there is no lift in this facility. They have scooty available here for rent and rates are comparable. Location is simply the highlight of this place and it is right in heart of hustle and bustle. Overall very good and recommended for a short to medium duration stay.

Kontiki is a lovely hostel, the staffs are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable with curtain, small fans and light for each bed. Highly recommend for a place to stay in Danang.

There's a few things to mention here. ____________ Rooms | The rooms, they are quite well kept, very clean and decently neat. There are curtains on the beds and it does feel quite private. The room i had even had a balcony to sit at too. Quite a packed room, but the beds are good to sleep on. ____________ Service  | Service wise, friendly staff that will help, definitely a hostel vibe in letting people keep to themselves which is nice when you want chill time. ____________ Location  | In terms of location, its quite a bad place to be I won't lie. You are decently far from the beach, and there's nothing around it really. The food is lacking around here too. One or two cafes but nothing else. ____________ Its an okay hostel, not social at all, quite a private hostel, there's some great service and if you want to chill, its amazing. But its not great for much else.

I had a great stay at this hostel. The staff is really friendly and always ready to help. They offer a complimentary breakfast with eggs, toast, and coffee from 7 am to 9 am, and what's nice is they're still happy to serve it even if you're a bit late. They also arrange tours and transfers to nearby cities like Hoi An and Hue, which is convenient. Here are some highlights: They provide towels and toiletries. There are both hot and cold showers. Bidets in the toilets, which is a plus. Dorm rooms have single beds with curtains for privacy. Each bed has a mini fan, keeping you cool. Free breakfast is a nice perk. They offer WiFi for guests. It's worth mentioning that the hostel is a bit far from the main action, on the other side of the river. You might need to use Grab bike to reach the bars, restaurants, and cafes. However, if you prefer a quieter atmosphere (like I do), this is a good choice. One thing to note is that the AC isn't super strong, and they usually turn it off in the morning. This could be a bit uncomfortable, especially if you visit during the hottest season. I went in September, and the weather was extremely humid and hot. Lastly, the toilets and showers are a bit small in size.

The bathrooms are small, the room is incredibly hot, and the air conditioning doesn't work during the day. Unbelievable! Overall, the cleanliness is lacking, especially in the bathrooms which are very uncomfortable and extremely hot. The complimentary breakfast, which is very basic, even came without coffee. With all of this, I could only stay for one night and changed places.

A great place in a good location. Private room was very clean and well maintained/presented. Included breakfast is minimal but OK. Staff are friendly and willing to help with everything you need.

Honestly, I am really impressed by everything about Kon-Tiki Hostel. The first thing I need to consider when choosing a place to stay is location, and the location of this hostel is really favorable. It's near Dragon Bridge so that I can quickly come there and see the dragon breathing fire, and it's also near some popular places like the Son Tra night market, Con market, My Khe beach, etc. Besides, the price of room is reasonable. By the way, I love the way they decorate this hostel, it's colorful and unique. Though the dorm room is small, I love its atmosphere. The guests are mostly foreigners, so I made a lot of friends there. My bed has a small fan and a curtain for privacy. I especially like the terrace here. Though it is on a slightly high floor, the scenery is very airy and beautiful. In particular, the staff here can speak English, and they very enthusiastically consult tourist destinations before I decide to go there. Overall, I really like this hotel. I will come back to Kon-Tiki when I travel to Da Nang again.

Bedsheets stained and walls dirty. Management kept on turning air conditioning off and I had to repeatedly ask for it to be turned back on. Bathrooms tiny and awkward. Towel provided also minuscule. At least the free breakfast was convenient and staff were friendly and let me cancel my second night.

I had my GoPro 10 stolen here and I'm pretty sure it was the young guy/owner. I left the camera in my bag AT front desk (he moved it there from the couch after I left) to go on a day tour to Hue (10hrs). I checked out earlier that day and usually you don't check your belongings before leaving but I decided to rearrange my bag for weight distribution and that's when I discovered it had been taken out of the GoPro box. When I told him, he looked down at the table and discouraged me from going to the police station. He's friends with the police so they won't help you, they just kept whispering in front of me. I spoke about what happened to another hostel in Hoi An and they told me that it happens frequently at that hostel... Hmm. Seems like a pattern. LOCK EVERYTHING AT ALL TIMES if this is your last choice.

The rooms were really nice with curtains all around the beds. The mattresses were super hard but surprisingly comfortable. We didn't stay long but the hostel seemed like it had many tours and activies. One downside was that you either had hot water or high water pressure but not both. Plus there is construction outside the hostel so a little loud during the day

The good: Affordable onsite quality scooter rental, helpful staff. Everything (beverages, tours) are all reasonably priced. The suite I stayed at was spacious. It is also conveniently located right across the night market and the Dragon bridge. Minor things: No credit card payment is possible. However, USD is accepted in case you don't have local currency. The roof top is under renovation, this significantly limits the ability to socialize. Atmosphere as a hostel isn't there. Though that also guarantees good sleep. There's flies and bugs in the room, make sure you bring propeller if you are allergic to those things. It would be nice if the host could set up some social events.

My experience (stayed at 4 hostels during this trip): A simple stay with basic facilities, just nice for the price point - ~70000dong/night (through Hostelworld, cheapest out of all hostels I stayed at). - The host was friendly during the check in (old man) & check out (young lady). - No free water refill (?) which negated the price difference if you drink a lot of water - room was alright (8man mixed dorm) with a small balcony and locker - shared toilets and showers (2each) were not ventilated at all which can get pretty warm

The hostel is at a good location, right next to one of their street night markets if you want to try street food and check out some vendors selling overpriced tourist souvenirs. The hostel was clean overall, especially the upper floor and the staff were very nice. The only downside is that the bathrooms are very small and tight, we also saw 2 large cockroaches. Although that is more likely due to tourists leaving food out in the dorm, so I wouldn’t fault the property management for that as everything else was very clean. If you rent a motorbike from them, they will ask for an international license, although it’s not enforced strictly. A free breakfast is provided and we were able to go back and shower even after we checked out. Overall, a good experience.

The rooms are spacious and fresh at night. The hostel is well located around nice cafes and a gourmet grocery store where you can find nice thinks like: Kombucha, jack fruit, nice pastries... The bathroom is a little hot -no ventilation- and the towel they provide you is small (hand towel size) that is not actually really useful for taking a shower. There is free soap, toothbrush and hairdryer, which is useful. They try to help you en everything they can and be supportive.

The staff is very friendly and speak English. The breakfast consists of two eggs, toast, tomato and cucumber. We stayed in the mixed hostel room. The beds had thin matresses but were comfy nontheless. The rooms also have aircom and each bed had a little built in fan and charger area. The hostel rooms also have small balconies overlooking the city and there is a rooftop seating area on the top floor. We weren't happy about the shared bathrooms. They were quite dirty and had a smell that would not go away. You are also given a very small hand towel to use during your stay. The hostel is walking distance from the Dragon bridge that spits fire and water over the weekend. Its also close to the night market and a few bars and karaoke.

Possibly the best hostel I've stayed in, mainly because of the staff, who are super helpful with everything. The facilities are great, nice communal chilling area downstairs, balconies in every room and a rooftop. Clean and well-maintained. Very well-located, close to the river (I suggest staying close to the river than the beach).

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at, certainly the best in Vietnam. Immaculately clean, comfortable beds with private curtains, A/C, huge lockers, soap+shampoo in the shower, fridge full of well-priced beer and water at the front desk, laundry service, and really friendly + helpful people working here. They pointed me to the good food nearby and even helped me order. Beautiful roof top with a view. Manager Anh lives on-site and is always around to chat/give advice (with great English).

I really enjoyed staying here for a night! I needed a night off to relax a bit and that was the best place to be. It’s very close to the beautiful dragon bridge and a bunch of good restaurants. The stuff is super friendly and the rooms are nice and quiet. Very good atmosphere!

This place is located near the dragon bridge, it's a busy area next to a market and tons of karaoke bars around..it's not close to the beach..the place is clean, showers are good...perfect if you stay a short time in Danang...the owner is very helpful! Use translator to speak with him...but after all you're in Vietnam..😎👍good place! For single travelers, budget friendly...
