I am an Australian traveller who was admitted to the Family Hospital for 12 nights. I found that the hospital has amazing staff and services, and is a first class hospital. Family Hospital was the only hospital in Da Nang that would help me in my time of need. Within one hour of being at the hospital, I had an emergency MRI, following that I was admitted l and saw a neurosurgeon within 3 hours. Dr Nguyen was my treating neurosurgeon. He is amazing and I highly recommend him. He had my best interests at heart and wanted to ensure that I was discharged following an appropriate amount of rehabilitation. Foong and Nguyen Thi Le were my main nurses and they and kind, attentive and caring. Communication was not really an issue if they did not speak fluent English as we relied on google translate and all questions were answered without any real confusion. Tin (Kevin) was my physiotherapist. When I arrived at hospital I could barley walk, but I made significant improvements with his fantastic assistance and advice. He speaks fluent English and we became friends. He is an amazing person - he even gave me his personal phone number to answer any questions that may arise once I returned to Australia. The rehabilitation unit is first class. The methods they implement are modern medicine mixed with traditional medicine. I had heard that acupuncture could help reduce pain and relieve some of sleep issues. Dr Tue is a magician and totally changed my perspective with respect to traditional medicine. The acupuncture gave me extended periods of pain relief and increased mobility. I also got a decent night sleep after seeking acupuncture therapy for sleep issues. The natural sleep remedies that were prescribed worked much better than the pharmaceuticals. I was sceptical of traditional medicine but my experience at the Family Hospital changed my view. In relation to physical therapy, I usually spent about 2-3 hours a day with Tin, Dr Tue and the other staff members. I was initially sceptical of their methods, but my skepticism quickly disappeared after I found myself getting some pain relief and increased mobility. I would say that their methods are exceptional and perhaps even better than my experience with Australian physiotherapists. The methods they used included massage, physical exercises with resistance, cupping, ultrasound therapy, heat and ice therapy, shortwave therapy, electrical pulse therapy and acupuncture. In my view, the acupuncture assisted the most. Overall, the wholistic approach of the rehabilitation team leave something for Australian rehabilitation units/physiotherapist to consider. They should take a page or two out of Family Hospital’s playbook and emulate it - it was truly first class. The international clinic staff are very helpful including Lin who assisted me with my (very unhelpful) insurer. The cleaning staff are courteous and amazingly happy. I became friends with So Din Thoa and we high fived each other when we crossed paths. She phoned me to check up on me even though her English was limited. As a foreigner who was admitted for 12 nights, I have absolutely no regrets or issues about my experience at Family Hospital. Each staff member from the doctors to the cleaners wanted to ensure that my relatively long stay was as comfortable as possible. This was achieved by their caring attitude and willingness to help in any circumstance. My room was clean and comfortable, I had private room with a large TV, desk and couch for guests. It was cleaned very regularly and I have no complaints about the quality of the room or infrastructure. I could not recommend Family Hospital high enough to anyone in need of medical assistance, especially to a foreigner. The staff go above and beyond and are truely concerned about your welfare. If you are a foreigner go to level 2 to go to the international clinic in the first instance. From there, you will be looked after by the relevant department. The staff really care about you and your welfare. 10/10 thank you amazing people.

Four days in Vietnam from Australia and already fell victim to severe diarrhoea, abdominal pains, nausea and headaches. Upon entering the Biel, a lady noted that International services commence on level 2 (look for Room 324 which is more like a ward and isn't difficult to find). You will need to let the counter staff know that you need to see a doctor. They will ask you to fill out a form if it's your first visit, and hand in your passport. The counter staff with ask you to be seated. Within 10 minutes, they will take your blood pressure, temperature, weight and height to record on your medical report. After another 10minutes, I was seen by the bilingual Dr Pham Sy Lam who was very easy to speak with and would explain and answer any questions I had. After the consultation, I had to pay upfront 883,000 VND to cover for the follow-up consultation + blood test + ultrasound as recorded on my docket. All payments must be made to the pharmacy desk just outside Room 324. They accept card and VND cash. Blood test was conducted on level 3 and I waited less than 5 minutes. Ultrasound was conducted back on level 2 and I waited less than 10 minutes. All staff spoke reasonably basic English, which was enough to get you around as long as you had written documentation to point for directions. I think it also pays to be kind here as foreigners would certainly struggle if they couldn't speak English. I was prescribed about 5 different medication (the joys..) but they explained the need for everything which made sense. I didn't have the privilege to meet the highly mentioned Dr Daniel Mitchell that many reviews wrote about however I was pleased with the service I received thus far in a foreign country. Would highly recommend for international travellers. They accept travel insurance.

This hospital is terrific. Efficient, very well organized, good signage and directions within the facility, helpful staff, quick service and quick results. I used the International Clinic which seems well focused on foreign people. Dr Daniels does a great job and spent the time to understand the situation and ask about history, etc. I truly felt very well served by my visit to this hospital and I will use it without hesitation any time I need a test or have any health issue. Very strongly recommended.

I've been in VN 8 years and this was my best hospital visit experience. I usually bring a translator but today I couldn't. I was assigned Nguyen Van Chuong to escort me around making the process very easy and unstressful. Thanks to him I'll always return here. If management is reading this, give that man a raise! Everyone else was also really nice. Every doctor I met was friendly.

I’ve been a patient at Family Hospital for out-patient issues for about a year, specifically at their International Clinic and most recently receiving services at the physiotherapy department. Overall I am very happy with the care I’ve been receiving. Attentive staff, caring nurses and therapists and engaged doctors. My main doc is Dr Dan Mitchell, and he’s great. At other times though I’ve been seen by Vietnamese doctors, all have been excellent. Communication is fairly easy as most everyone speaks some English, some quite well. Also the staff coordinates efficiently with my insurance Bao Viet. So I highly recommend Family Hospital and their International Clinic!

I came back 5 years ago and I went to the hospital 7 days ago, fortunately, Dr. Phung is still and is treating me. It's great that I'm fine. Thank you to the entire 8th floor department and the patient. Family Hospital in general. Dr. Phung in particular, took good care of me after my last pain, thank you very much!

I can't give 0 starts. Rude staff and I couldn't be with my vietnamese wife during the medical exams. Vietnamese ppl could get in without any id but foreigns need passport, visa, and double check. Total discrimination. We went to 3 other hospitals in the same city and none of them do this.

Dr. Vu was incredible. She was extremely compassionate, likely the most compassionate doctor I've ever had a visit with. I came in a bit worried at first after reading the reviews here, but after having been there, I'd recommend it vehemently. The staff don't have the bestest English, just be patient with that, pun intended. Dr. Vu was fluent and we had no communication barrier. So grateful for Family Hospital, thank you 💛

Foreigner friendly and they have an American doctor if you'd prefer. Waiting time is ok but document processing is slow. Price is ok for foreigners even if you don't have insurance.

Good and fast service, conscientious doctors, well-organized system, spacious and modern equipment. I use the service in the International Clinic, Dr. Tona is the one who gave treatment to me, she said had ever been a boarding student in America, she gave such a nice talk during the time examining. She was really friendly and caring to every patients. She has short hair with a quite slim body. Thank u so much for such a great time being there in Family Hospital 🏥

The hospital discriminates foreigners. Staff is rude and unfriendly. Stay away from this place. Vinmec hospital is a much better option. A bit more expensive but much higher quality.

Very impressed with this hospital. Clean, friendly and helpful. We were seen promptly in the international clinic and had a translator provided when out doctor didn't speak English. Both were very patient with us. Consult and test came to less then $100 CAD.

I went for my Pap smear test. Dr Shawn was very professional. I also did a blood test, I’m scared of needles but Dr Hong did it and it was painless, she’s very good. I did blood tests in the past and it was always scary and painful but she did very well. I’m also very happy with Mr Nguyen Van Chuong, he helped me with the translation, X-ray test, blood test, wisdom tooth removal, he translated all for me as well as the medicine, he also translated what I can and can’t do after tooth removal, he did all of that for 4 hours from Vietnamese to English, from documents to staffs. I’m grateful and I appreciate all of his help. I’m very happy with the service. ❤️ Also Thu helped me with booking my appointments and she speaks English really well and I appreciate it. 😊

I got my PCR test done using their 'at home' service where they come to your apartment. Thu organised everything with me over Facebook Messenger and couldn't have been more professional. Everything went as expected and I'm really happy with the service. Whatever you are paying her, she deserves a raise!

I was admitted with appendicitis at 11.30 am, and after having an ultrasound to confirm, I was in surgery by 4.30 pm. I cannot speak highly enough when it comes to this hospital. The efficiency, cleanliness, staff, conditions, facilities, were all second to none. Even the food was pretty good! Totally satisfied with my unfortunate stay. Everything was explained to me in English. The hospital dealt directly with my insurance company, so I didn't even have to worry about that. Thank you very much to all concerned.

This hospital is incredible, they saw me almost immediately. We did a endoscopy, ultra sound, blood test, consultation medication for something like a total of £80. The staff are very friendly, helpful and the system is great. The senior doctors speak English very well and have clearly attained education at International level. There is a gentleman with glasses who explains the procedures and translates any documents, he's a very nice chap and he's very popular with the foreigners who all want to say thanks and goodbye to him when they leave. The female doctor with short hair is lovely and gave me a very detailed explanation on medication and dealing with the illness. I would give this place 10*

My experience here was very poor. There is zero customer service, and the staff have had very little training in how to deal with clients and so are very bad at communicating with patients. I had to return on a separate day to undertake a simple scan that should've been organised quickly on the same day. Dealing with insurance was also made very difficult by the hospital. The hospital point blank refuse to call the insurance company-i've never experienced this before and i've lived here for 9 years and regularly use the hospitals here. Prices are also very high, approximately double what Vinmec charge for a similar service for example. I cannot recommend this hospital and won't return.

I came here after many failed attempts of diagnosis in medlatec Hanoi and vinmec Đà Nẵng and some other hospitals. The family hospital was leaps and bounds better than vinmec DN. The staff were friendly and show compassion to their patients. I’m so happy that as an expat I’ve found a place I can put my trust in. DONT go to vinmec if you’re an expat, they just want to fleece you for money on tests that aren’t needed, they actually care about their patients here and the doctors speak English as well as having a very kind translator that can assist you if needed in some departments. Thank you so much family hospital 🫶

Our experience at the Family Hospital was great. My wife had to go in for an emergency surgery and being a tourist in a foreign hospital is a very unsettling feeling. The doctors and nurses made us feel very comfortable and safe and made sure that anything we needed would be taken care of. Any questions or concerns were answered and every step of the process was throughly explained. Huge thanks to Dr. Đinh Thanh Nhân and the entire 6th floor who showed excellent support and care to us throughout our time at the Family Hospital. The efficiency, professionalism and care for patients exceeds the hospitals we've been to even in our home country Canada. Thanks again for the support and care during such a stressful time.

Very thankful for being treated after I got food poisoning in Vietnam. After registration I got called in by the doctor very quickly! She was really sweet and kind. Tests have been run after that and results, plus the needed treatment/medication, was quickly presented to me. The medical staff was also very nice and everyone I’ve met could speak some English. If you have problems, you can find a kind gentleman who assists you with the language barrier. I hope for a quick recover but my experience here is good and I can definitely recommend coming here.

I highly recommend this hospital. It provides the very best of treatment, at very reasonable cost, in a very caring and professional atmosphere. In particular I had, during three consultations, the good fortune to consult Dr. Daniel Mitchell. Dr. Mitchell is an exceptional medical practitioner and I cannot speak highly enough of his skills and professionalism.

13/4/2023. Danang. I got a severe Ear Infection which I had no hearing in my left ear, was getting more painful by the hour and it was sending me so off balance, so off I went to the Family Hospital here in Danang. I went to the 2nd floor, room 234 which is where the International part was, this is for Tourists and Expats. I filled out a form, ( have a photo of your Passport on your phone or just take your passport with you) They took my blood pressure checked my weight and before I knew it I was in to see the Doctor. He immediately sent me to the ENT Specialist who was on the 4th floor, they saw me straight away and they were so thorough. They drained my ear, saw i had a large hole in my ear drum which caused a bad infection, he took photos of everything going on inside my ear and explained the photos so thoroughly. I was prescribed 2 lots of Antibiotic Tablets to take orally and 2 lots of Antibiotic Drops for the ear, I was in and out in 1 hour 15 minutes with the best care and 4 lots of Antibiotics and the whole lot including Specialist getting my ear drained and Tablets and drops and photos, cost $50.27 cents in Australian dollars. We were so impressed at the level of care I received today not to mention how quick and efficient it all was. The doctors and satt were all very nice and helpful, the place was so lovely and clean. I wish Australia was this efficient, it would have taken me 4 months to see an ENT Specialist and would have cost me close to $800 to $1000 plus the price of Antibiotics on top of that, back in Australia

Have been to this hospital on several occassions. The first time my daughter was born here and was a terrible experience. The nurses in the local maternity ward were racist and desrcriminative. Not sure why, seemed to have resentment towards men or foreigners. 2nd time I went I visited the International Ward and was much better experience, spoke with an Amereican doctor (Cant remember name) but he was really professional and able. Personally I would rate the International Ward highly, there is a clearly problems here though and it stems down to the staff and the people running the hospital so would only visit for minor problems.

This hospital in Vietnam stands out as one of the best medical facilities I have encountered. 🏥 The presence of an international clinic, staffed with proficient personnel both at the reception and within the medical team, ensures a commendable level of service. Notably, the majority of the staff exhibits proficiency in English, facilitating effective communication. Contrary to my initial expectations, the cost of services proved to be notably reasonable. My expenditure, totaling approximately 1,400,000 VND (equivalent to approximately 50-55€), encompassed a general consultation (400,000 VND), a chest X-Ray, an ECG, and a blood test. Moreover, the efficiency of the hospital is commendable, as I found myself swiftly attended to and concluded my visit within a remarkably brief timeframe of 2-3 hours. The expeditious delivery of blood test results within just 1 hour allowed for the opportunity to indulge in a leisurely breakfast. For fellow travelers seeking reliable and cost-effective healthcare, I recommend this clinic. 🤞🏽

My husband has got an eye injury. We went to the opthalmologist right away, we didn't need to wait a lot, just filled in the form. The opthalmologist is very polite, calm, professional. The cabinet is well-equipped. It costed us about 1 mil. for the examination and medicine. We liked everything.
