We had great difficulty finding the Gowing Drive entrance until we realised that it was in fact on Monkton Place, a street that doesn't appear on Google Maps. Once we found how to get in, we enjoyed a short walk through lovely bush. Good to see that some of the trees have name tags giving details, and there's a very helpful information sign at the Worcester Road entrance.

A very pleasant little Bush walk amongst native trees. One can see mist of it in about 40 or 60 minutes. A bit muddy in wet weather. But ideal for kids as not too long. Recommended.

Really nice bush walk in St Johns. It is hard to believe it is there hidden amongst all the houses. We walk the dog there regularly and it’s usually very quiet. We rarely meet other people. The walk itself is very short but it’s nice to get amongst nature even for a short while. Apparently you can see glow worms there!

A nice place for a walk, like a temperate rainforest. Thoroughly recommend it.

Outstanding! Considering you are in the middle of Auckland suburbs it is a little gem for walking in the heat of summer. Lovely and refreshing. If you have a dog they love it as well... swimming/plunging into the creek to cool off...

Really enjoyed this walk - it's such a nice change to the busy city life surrounding the area. Bird life was very active and scenery was refreshing. Could get quite slippery if it's been raining and paths are a bit narrow in areas so just take care on your walk :)

A great place for a quite visit in nature when you are in the city. We stopped in for a 30 minute hike while running errands in tne city. Our 4 and 6 year olds were able to run the trail and found it the ideal length.
