Fresh and Delicious Sweets (मिठाई) and mouth-watering snacks along with north Indian delicacies. We had ordered Aloo Paratha and Chhole Bhature. Paratha's batter was evenly spreaded over and cooked in tandoor, which brings out the smoky flavour out of it. Chhole Bhature was delightful too, not oily and too smudgy alike other offers. For मिठाई (Sweets) - just rest assured that you get fresh, made with real ingredients and nicely packed/wrapped way. I often purchased Kaju Katli, Coconut Burfi and Mix Mithai box. I recommend it for best Indian Sweets and Economical rates for Lunch/Dinner.

Onsite parking available for the shopping complex where it is located. A proper restaurant. Well arranged, decorated and presented. But, they are vegetarian, if I am not mistaken. So, should not be ur choice if non-veg. I visited them on 26/Mar/2022 around afternoon. Customer service I experienced was good. An Indian restaurant. You might notice two queues. One is for ordering food and the other for sweets if my memory is right. Their tea is good. I just visited them just for a tea. Today, it was crowded. On that note, I assume their food might also be tasty. If not they might not be crowded.

Worst food ever. Every time we have order, either we got burnt food or tasteless or no quantity or all of them- I m surprised that if the food gets burn the why they even pack it for the customer. This time it was the last time we ordered.never ever going to order again. Zero rating!

We went there for lunch. We ordered Amritshari Thali...chole bhature and myshore masala Dosa.... Quantity was good.. presentation was impressive but in all three dishes salt was very less. See the photo of papad very oily and over cooked...... customer service was not good at all. I ordered some sweets and samosa and bread pakoda ...I paid and get receipt went on counter three people ware working on one order no one come to serve me... I told cashier she said they are preparing big order......it looks like my order was not important to them.....we needs to take this issues seriously if they are thinking we need them they can treat us like baggers. Worst experience of customer service in my 25 years of New Zealand stay.. today's experience was the worst...see the photos I bought eight pyaz kachori from them girl gave me in paper bad fully filled with big kachories on top and worst even see the Amount of chutney to eat 8 pyaz kachories . I paid $32 but not even give me carry bag.. when I carry paper bag full of kachories up to car paper bag broken and I wasted my $32.. they treat people like bagger evenhough you paid them the amount of the food whatever they asked. Shame on you guys. Improve customer service and treat customer like a GOD . Whatever you are today only because of customers. I hope you train your girls properly how to do customer service . I will visit again to check within a month otherwise I have to lodge a complain to consumer NZ.

My hubby Amit and I are regulars at #Shivanirestuarant Papatoetoe, each weekend. The service is great, staff are friendly and welcoming, the restaurant is clean , and the great variety of Indian vegetarian street food as well as mains - all reasonably priced and promise a taste which will have you coming back for more. Our favourites are the Thalis (platters) and the Indian sweets and their Elaichi chai (cardamom tea). This is a hidden gem in Papatoetoe , with ample parking. Ghevar- an Indian sweet delicacy , which we missed for 20 years as not available normally in NZ, is easily available at Shivani Indian Restaurant. Are you also missing some of your sweet /savoury food memories from India…then why not come to Shivani restaurant, Papatoetoe!!

It's awesome food. Very nice service. People are very friendly. Mostly my dinner I like to have it in shivani Papatoetoe. One of my favourite restaurants. Must try.

Everyone who works there acts like they would rather be somewhere else instead. Overpriced, oily food, tasted bland no salt, rude staff, sweets are below average, like watered down, and VERY loud music. Pls give the cleaner a pay rise, she did an outstanding job despite the low quality food. Will continue to go to Dominion Rd Shivani

I had made a uber order for Punjabi thali and found hair in my food such a shame. there food is really good but the hygiene by the looks of it is very poor please ware a hair net or something to keep the hair out this was not the first time I've had hair in my food 🤦‍♀️ but it will be the last goodluck to the owner

What a great place!! It was our first time here last night, and we had invited 20 family and friends to a birthday dinner for my father-in-law. Smiles and very satisfied tummys all round from our friends and family. The food was delicious, and they did well with having to tend to multiple different plates ordered, the wait was worth while, even my meat-eating Dad thoroughly enjoyed this meal. The service and team were very helpful and friendly, as I was definitely outside my comfort zone with vegetarian food. Special mention to the Chef for the awesome food and to the Host on the till for exceptional customer service.. Great team work from them and the staff. Definately will return again :)

Away served fresh food.. we have channa bhatura, dosa but wasnt that crispy , filing was good. My fav one is their palak paneer from Shivani papatoetoe

The first time we went there it was lovely but when we just visited it today one of the staff was really rude to my brother and the food was not so good and we spent $70 on it but it was not worth it.

Food variety is good but poor service from some staff. Several other times I was able to buy sweets and snacks with no minimum purchase or spend required, today he said min $5 for jalebi, min 4 dhokara etc. Why can't you just let people buy what they want. A single person doesn't need $5 jalebi etc. I want few pieces and I am still paying by the weight so why force people to buy min $5. You just lost my business as I was buying several snacks and dinner but walked out with nothing because of the attitude of some staff. If you have rules like min this and min that, stick it on the board so people can see.

Detoriating standard of food. Packed flat bread or Rotis are stale but on display and sold ...Freshness is missing. Overpriced. Very very slow service. Lack of good quality vegan/ vegt restaurants in these suburbs lead people to them. Not revommending for Vegans.

It's just great for Indian food and cuisine. Their customer service is very good. Their kitchen staff is very fast they are taking very less time to prepare the food.. They have a good sitting arrangement as well. If I am talking about the Indian Sweets then they have variety of sweets,

I had their dahi puri and their dosa. For Auckland it was good, not quite the authentic S outh Indian taste of dosa as I have had the real one in South India. But very close. Well done!

Food Wasn't the greatest as i was anticipating for it's big name, i ordered Chinese vegetarian fried rice but was it was disappointing and no way near like the Chinese fried rice, my wife ordered paneer and it wasn't the greatest either, my dad used to work for HARE KRISHNA VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT and the food they made,it was one of the finest vegetarian restaurants, unfortunately it didn't meet my expectations and this was my first and last visit cheers.

Food is good. But super lack in service. Tables need clean and leftover utensils need to be taken away fast. Self service is big No No. I can't take my friends to the place, cz of self service. Do something about it or keep on loosing customers. Thanks

I went there to get sweets for my karva chauth fast. There was senior citizen serving sweets. He was very rude. Then, I left the place. Worst experience. I think service is going poor day by day. I don’t recommend this place. Customer service should be very nice everywhere.

I had the Navaratri thaali at Shivani's restaurant in Auckland, and I must say, it was quite disappointing. The curries were overloaded with salt, making it nearly inedible. On top of that, the wait time was a staggering 40 minutes, and the long queue and slow service only added to the frustration. I hope they can improve their food quality and service in the future.

It's disheartening to see a company engage in such practices, as it erodes trust and leaves a sour taste in the customer's mouth. The issue arose when I noticed unexpected charges on my bill, specifically for a service I didn't request or authorize. When I inquired about these charges, I was informed that they were for a "bag fee," something that was never communicated to me when I engaged with their services. Transparency is essential in any customer-provider relationship, and these hidden charges completely disregard that principle. Customers should be informed of any additional fees upfront, allowing them to make an informed decision. Adding charges without consent is not only unethical but also damages the company's reputation. I strongly encourage this company to reevaluate its billing practices and ensure that customers are fully aware of any fees associated with their services. As consumers, we deserve honesty and fairness in our transactions, and hidden charges have no place in a reputable business.

Chat Counter :- The lady in Chat counter is very rude and doesn’t know how to behave to customers. She definitely needs some sort to training to behave well with customers. Positives:- Variety of North and South Indian food varieties available. Good parking space. Negatives: Staff attitude to customers are very rude!

Takeaway time 30 min, food average, staff female fair complexion was very rude on replies when asked why not first cone first serve basis. I Was a regular customer for past 3 years. Bad attitude of staff for the prices we pay for food. Hope owner takes action expecting improvement in future.

Worst Service ever. Staff acts like they don't want to be there. Been there may be 4 times in 8 years but not even a single time got a better service. Waiting timings were crazy even though three people were there on one table other than two of us who arrived after us. But they got served before. Person on the sweets counter completely ignored me and served other people first. Never going back.

Ordered something but price was different then on display saying it's old price Asked why not remove it was told can't because it's display board. Ordered a new dish but when paying noticed charged $1 extra when questioned was told it's takeaway price. This should have been told in advance. Pockets getting empty and food getting less in quantity although quality was ok. Advice please update your menu which customer notices as soon as they arrive. Not everyone sees on till what you charge them plus let them know of any extra charges

Never order Amritsari Kulcha it’s nothing more than a poorly made home made Stuffed potato Prantha.

Very few vegan options..hope they catch up with rise in plant foods demand in NZ . All indian food can be made vegan, but the chefs lack knowledge i guess. Smell of Ghee and milk, dairy hits you as you enter the place. Give the Aucklanders some Vegan show please.

Hopeless customer service. Waited too long in the line then waited 30mins for the food to arrive after not receiving one of the item in our order was told you need to wait in the next counter to pick it up. Would have been nice if we were told that earlier. Very disappointing results. Not coming here again for sure. Couldn't go to this restaurant even if it's the only restaurant in Auckland..

Love the food...food is always great and yummy...compliments to the chef. However the toilets are always filthy. Got disgusted by the overflowing and stinky sanitary bins on my last visit.
