Every visitor to Vilnius should come to the Ross Cemetery. It is worth reflecting and lighting candles at the graves of Poles living in the Vilnius region, Polish patriots and the resting place of Józef Piłsudski's mother and his heart.

Miejsce przejmujące i oczywiście szalenie ważne dla Polaków. Z praktycznego punktu widzenia- Zero informacji dla laika co to za miejsce. Zero infrastruktury dookoła nie licząc parkingu. Ogólnie- wycieczki zorganizowane i Polacy tutaj trafią, reszta nie ma szans dowiedzieć się niczego o tym miejscu.

Special part of the Rasos cemetery dedicated to the fallen Polish soldiers. Also a special monument to mark the burial of Jozef Pilsudski’s heart, as he was born in modern Lithuania and his mother rests in the cemetery nearby. The monument itself is nothing in particular, but the soldiers cemetery looks lovely with gravestones nicely aligned. Well taken care of. Not a must, but nice to see when at the cemetery.

Byłem akurat podczas deszczu co potęgowało uczucie nostalgii w tym miejscu istotnym dla naszej historii. Cmentarz położony na wzgórzu dzięki czemu można poczuć się przytłoczonym ale też obejrzeć z góry nagrobki wśród których są dzieła sztuki rzeźbiarskiej. Poza grobami polskich żołnierzy są ten cywilne groby Polaków i Litwinów obok siebie. Niestety dość mały parking.

Prawdziwa lekcja historii. Kwatera legionistów Marszałka, wśród ktorych pochowana jest jego matka i jego serce, to miejsce odwiedzane przez Polaków. Zawsze leżą tu biało-czerwone wieńce i wiązanki.

Of course, entry to the cemetery is free, but I recommend making a donation to the cemetery at the entrance, which is collected by scouts. Through this gate we enter the old part of the cemetery, in front of the cemetery there is a convenient, free parking lot.
