Great tour in Lithuanian with guide Eva! She was extremely knowledgeable, had great sense of humor and made two hours seem like 15 minutes. I seriously wanted the tour to go on. I have been recommending this tour and this particular guide to all my friends in Vilnius. Best €20 euros spent.

We had the best time at the prison, not something you say often. We had the guided tour by a charming woman who added humour to what are some dark and serious subjects, and was super well informed about the history of the prison. The tour starts as it would if you were a prisoner entering the facility, with the 'check in' and continues through church, solitary confinement, gen-pop, outside and back to the start. If you are in Vilnius and want to see something truly cool, this is teh place to go!

Loved the idea of a prison's transformation into a social/art/hangout space. It's a bar, a concert hall, a club and a gallery. Plus it's an amazing architecture with quite a cruel history. Must see.

Really interesting guided tour, worth to visit. The prison was recently closed (2019). It is currently used for concerts in summer and you can eat and drink something in the courtyard. It is recommended to book the guided tour in advance. We did the latest tour that day, it's probably a different feeling that during the day, everything is dark and you get to feel the experience closer. The guide explained us the history of the prison and told some interesting stories, you can also ask questions during the 2h visit. It is interesting to appreciate how scary and real can prisons be.

I really enjoyed the tour that was given here. The staff were polite and the guide was very informative, passionate and open to questions. A lot is said about the history about this prison and every part of the tour left me speechless of the life that was lived in those walls. There is an option of getting an English or Lithuanian tour, so anybody can enjoy the experience! However, if you are a stranger things fan and are visiting mainly to see where the scenes were set then this is not the place for you, as majority of the prison scenes were green screen! Only one cell and an area that is closed off was were filming actually took place, so I don’t recommend spending money only to see two rooms. The day tour offers information about a prisoners day to day life in this old prison and the background on the building itself and it’s system, this tour is available for everyone. The place also offers a night tour which is supposed to be scary and stories of all the horrible crimes committed are told, this tour is not available for younger people so please research before buying. I visited the day tour and I really enjoyed it and learned a lot, I’ll definitely be back for the night tour!

Cool experience and would definitely recommend to go! The tour leader (lady with ginger hair) spoke good English and had lots of interesting stories. Great how they turn these dark places into educational and cultural centres for everybody to enjoy. Unbelievable how this prison was still operation in 2019. A fun touch that you were able to take the Polaroid picture. Fun fact: stranger things was shot here!!!

I had booked the tour not knowing what to fully expect. However it was great experience. The tour guide we had was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. She gave us quite an insight into the lives of the former inmates at this 100 year old former penitentiary. I would recommend to go for this.

The place is exceptionally nice. Every thursday they have jazz nights where a coach teaches some basic moves and then you can dance with your partner or take a beer and chill.

A very unexpected and somewhat surreal experience - an entertainment area in the courtyard of a recently closed prison. The courtyard contains different drink / food options. The site hosts cinema and live acts. Various shading and seating options available. Table tennis was also available. Different music from different bars makes a cacophony at times. Worth a visit.

It is a very unique place to visit. You can come in for free inside one of the quartyards to have a drink or some food. And there are some specific events, mostly concerts, witch you could enter and see, another quartyard with some food acoustics. Very interesting place to visit for sure. Would recommend everyone at least to come in and see. There is some day and night tours to go inside of the prison and see more of it inside and the tour hides would tell you a lot of interesting story's from what had happened there and etc.

Cool place. The atmosphere is unique! I can really recommend it. But... the staff is super unfriendly, do not pay for the tour. And don't stay to long for beverages due to unfriendly staff.

An excellent activity in Vilnius for a family! Available in English and in Lithuanian, the tour takes visitors around various areas of the prison, and our guide Ema was very knowledgeable with plenty of stories to share! Definitely recommended!

Did a tour here and been more then impressed. you'd be shocked if the condition, the cell size and the fact that this place was still operated 3-4 years back. Or guide (forgot the name sadly) was doing an awesome job to give you all the insights as well as describing all the processes from arriving there till leaving as a prisoner. Nice bonus for me as stranger things fan is that he pointed out the spots which have been seen in the 3rd season. Overall highly recommend the tour and would do it again!

We couldn't get inside the place although they organise guided tours because it was too late when we arrived. We only asked for information and had a drink in the courtyard and that was already very nice. I would love to see the entire structure, considering it was a prison until a few years ago.

The tour is €20 per person and for a two hour tour around a unique building with a tour guide it's a great price. I have done quite a few guided tours around historical buildings so I set my bar quite high. Emma absolutely blew us away with her engaging and enthusiastic approach. You could tell that she genuinely was passionate about what she did and it was infectious. She had the type of energy that you wish every tour guide had. This has been by far the best thing we have done during our stay in Vilnius and would recommend it to anyone. This tour isn't just about history and listening to someone read you a story. They take you on a journey, just as a prisoner would have (up until only 4 years ago). Emma truly gave us an immersive experience in excellent English. A true credit to the institution. If we had more money we would have loved to leave a tip but I hope this review helps to bring new people to Lukiskes prison 2.0!

This has been one of my favourite tourist experiences. The place is immensely gorgeous. The architecture is really stunning. The guided tour is worth it, she was super nice and shared loads of really interesting stories, kept us engage throughout. This was my first visit to a real prison. There is an amazing bar with all kinds of drinks, including cocktails. The also make classics even if not on the menu and they have good quality spirits. I'll definitely come back!

Most impressive visit in Wilno so far. Our tour guide Emma knew exactly how to make it an adventure. She takes you into to story of the past. As impressive as shocking. Interactive and informative. Wished we could booked her another 2 hours just for questions that raised up in us. Gr. Marlon Swinnen

Awesome place. Kudos for turning a prison into a cultural centre like this, with bars, food, and drinks. We also did the tour, which was interesting and unique, though the accent of the guide was a bit difficult to understand. Would absolutely recommend this place and the tour, quite the experience!

It was very interesting. me and my husband have been to KGB museum before and this was like continuity to Lithuanian history. It's depressing and grim place but it is a part of history. The guide was very cheerful and was trying to make the whole experience more pleasant. We visited before Christmas so the place looked very festive.

Decent and unique experience, though I wasn't quite convinced it was worth €20 per head in its current iteration. Oh well, what other high-security prison will you tour instead though? The explanation could have been improved, it felt very much like our guide was on an endless repeat of herself (this being her nth run), spicing that up and keeping it feel fresh could be done with the help of a native English-speaker consultant. And if the whole prison has been turned into an art center, why the heavy restrictions on photography? At least this should have been disclosed on the booking page. Not that it felt it made any sense, considering we were passing many offices, a bar, and the booking form didn't ask for any personal information the local Department of Justice would reasonably ask for if this still was a semi-controlled facililty.

I had about a 2hours tour around the prison (can book online); well, it was a prison for many years... they still have it left practically the same as it was before prisoners were moved out... quite informative tour; in the end I got a picture of me as a ' prisoner' 😀😃🙂... I was in 2 prisons in Ireland(can get tickets online as well) so I think this one could be more interactive 😀

Did the tour today witn Igne. She was wonderful. Definitely worth the money. I have to say way better then the KGB museum. And if you are a Stranger Things fan, it's a must!

A very interesting experience, took the night tour with a few friends, while I had to translate for them we all still really enjoyed it. Great tales and gruesome details. Highly recommended for a different kind of tour.

Did the private prison tour with a small group of 6. Our guide was really knowledgeable and took us through the prison, giving us history from when it first opened, until it closed only a few years ago. For those who are interested in tours like this, I would definitely recommend going.

Interesting prison complex with it's original top security features. Worth a visit. A couple of bars located on the site in the open courtyard. Music concerts held here.
