Haah,
so
funny
and
so
adorable
little
sculpture
of
cute
fat
cat!
I
am
about
Uzupis
Cat,
a
famous
sculpture
which
we
saw
in
November
this
year
in
legendary
Republic
of
Užupis (Lithuanian: Užupio
Respublika or Užupio
Res
publika).
It
is
a
cat
standing
on
the
fence
of
the
house
number
2
on
Polocko
Street.
It
was
created
by
artist
Jonas
Geltis,
on
the
initiative
of
jeweller
Viktorija
Orkinė,
in
2018.
According
to
an
old
Uzupis
legend,
this
cat
helps
people
overcome
their
fears.
If
you
touch
its
ear
(we,
of
course,
touched),
it
will
destroy
all
your
fears
and
make
your
dreams
come
true.
This
cat
is
also
related
to
the
Constitution
of
Uzupis,
which
says
that
“the
cat
does
not
have
to
love
his
owner,
but
must
help
him
in
a
difficult
moment”.
I
think
this
sculpture
is
very
fun
and
symbolic
of
the
artistic
and
bohemian
spirit
of
Uzupis.
We
truly
liked
it
very
much
and
I
hope
you
did
too
when
you
saw
it
with
your
eyes
and
feel
of
touch
of
that
magic
part
of
city.
