Quite
a
large
hotel,
and
although
the
staff
were
efficient,
it
seemed
very
impersonal.
Everywhere
was
very
clean,
although
none
of
the
Covid
precautions
detailed
on
the
hotel
website
were
enforced,
for
example
wearing
masks
when
selecting
food
from
the
buffet.
My
room
was
clean
and
comfortable,
although
it
only
had
a
view
of
the
car
park.
However,
I
could
not
use
the
rain
shower
head
as
there
was
only
a
partial
shower
screen,
which
resulted
in
the
bathroom
floor
being
flooded.
The
pool
areas
were
quite
packed,
and
there
were
a
number
of
broken
sun
beds,
some
of
which
were
quite
dangerous.
Although
guests
were
putting
them
to
one
side
during
the
day,
the
staff
just
put
them
back
out
again
for
the
next
day
rather
than
repair
them.
Be
aware
that
the
beach
is
quite
a
walk
from
the
hotel,
and
that
you
will
need
to
buy
drinks
there.
The
beach
is
black
sand
and
pebbles,
so
you
may
want
to
take
appropriate
aqua
shoes
for
swimming
there.
The
buffet
food
was
plentiful,
but
was
poorly
labelled
on
a
number
of
occasions.
This
was
of
particular
concern
for
me
as
I
am
a
strict
vegetarian
with
an
allergy
to
mushrooms.
Quite
often
dishes
that
were
vegetarian
were
not
labelled
as
such,
and
conversely
some
of
the
vegetarian
dishes
stated
that
they
contained
non-vegetarian
cheese,
such
as
Parmesan.
I
met
with
the
food
and
beverage
manager,
who
felt
it
was
easier
to
provide
me
with
special
meals
rather
than
fix
the
problems
with
the
buffet.
These
special
meals
were
appreciated,
although
there
was
rarely
any
protein
element
contained
in
them.
The
barbecue
at
the
Sands
Beach
Bar
was
actually
quite
good
for
a
vegetarian,
so
I
can
recommend
that
once-a-week
option.
I
was
unable
to
take
full
advantage
of
the
inclusive
alcoholic
drinks.
The
wine
was
not
vegetarian,
and
the
vodka
and
tonic
tasted
awful.
The
'cocktails'
were
not
made
using
a
shaker,
with
ingredients
just
being
added
to
the
glass.
However,
I
was
pleasantly
surprised
to
find
that
each
day
the
minibar
was
refilled
with
two
cans
of
drink,
two
bottles
of
beer
and
a
large
bottle
of
water.
The
hotel
is
far
from
environmentally
friendly.
Rather
than
provide
drinking
water
in
a
large
container
so
that
people
could
refill
their
own
bottles,
hundreds
of
small
plastic
bottles
of
drinking
water
were
handed
out
each
day.
They
also
used
paper
cups
for
soft
drinks
around
the
pool,
even
though
they
had
plastic
glasses
available.
Although
the
hotel
had
bins
for
recycling,
I
was
dismayed
to
see
the
volume
of
waste
that
was
being
generated.
The
activities
were
plentiful
and
varied,
and
most
evenings
there
was
some
entertainment
provided.
I
particularly
enjoyed
the
organised
walks,
which
were
free
and
arranged
by
the
TUI
activity
team.
This
included
a
walk
around
Limassol
old
town,
which
used
the
local
bus
at
a
cost
of
1.5
euros
each
way,
and
a
hike
to
see
the
Amathus
Ruins.
