Booked
a
table
for
Thursday
at
20.15.
Arrived
at
20.05
and
were
taken
to
our
table
at
20.10
once
Covid
checks
and
Track
&
trace
was
verified
and
made
sure
all
three
of
us
had
used
the
sanitiser
provided.
Our
Waiter
was
Steven.
He
was
friendly,
informative
and
had
a
good
sense
of
humour
which
is
perfect
for
us.
We
started
with
the
Duck
Parfait,
Wild
Atlantic
Scallops
&
Potted
Smoked
Salmon
Pate.
The
Duck
Parfait
was
very
nice,
it
came
with
Apple
&
date
chutney
&
2
slices
of
toasted
ciabatta.
I
felt
there
was
too
much
pate
for
the
2
slices
provided,
another
slice
of
bread
would
have
been
better
as
I
ended
up
eating
the
Pate
on
my
fork.
The
Wild
Atlantic
Scallops
came
in
a
Lobster
&
Prosecco
sauce,
peas,
crispy
pancetta
&
straw
fries.
It
was
nice
and
worked
well
as
a
starter.
The
Potted
Smoked
Salmon
Pate
was
enjoyed,
came
with
4
slices
of
toast
and
a
slice
of
lemon.
We
were
served
with
Lettuce
wedges
for
the
2
having
steak
as
a
palate
cleanser.
One
was
with
bacon
and
mustard,
the
other
garlic
mayo
&
grana
padano.
We
Both
tried
some
of
each
and
we
both
preferred
the
bacon
and
mustard.
Our
Main
courses
came
consisting
of
2
of
the
16oz
Ribeye
Steaks,
both
medium
and
Bernaise
Sauce
and
a
Butternut
and
Mushroom
Tart
and
a
side
portion
of
Garlic
Button
Mushrooms.
Although
not
mentioned
as
a
side,
we
noticed
dauphinoise
potato
came
with
the
Buttermilk
Chicken.
So
we
asked
if
we
could
get
that
as
an
option
as
we
prefer
that
to
chips.
Steven
went
to
check
and
came
back
and
said
yes,
we
could
get
dauphinoise
potato.
The
160z
Ribeye
was
superb,
very
succulent
and
mine
was
a
perfect
medium,
the
other
was
slighly
under
medium,
but
was
still
thoroughly
enjoyed.
The
garlic
button
mushrooms
were
tender
and
very
nice,
there
was
enough
for
all
3
of
us
to
try
them.
The
dauphinoise
was
a
little
disappointing.
It
was
not
freshly
made
as
we
had
expected,
but
was
covered
in
a
coating
like
you
can
get
in
a
supermarket's
frozen
section.
It
was
quite
nice
once
salt
was
added.
The
Butternut
and
Mushroom
Tart
came
with
ratatouille,
fine
green
beans,
baby
potatoes
with
sunblush
pepper
&
herb
dressing.
It
was
said
to
be
tasty
and
the
pastry
was
amazing.
We
finally
decided
to
have
deserts.
Knickerbocker
Glory
Sundae,
Banoffee
Pie
&
Classic
Creme
Brulee.
All
were
enjoyed.
We
were
all
full.
With
4
pints
of
Peroni
and
a
medium
Coke
it
came
to
£149.90,
less
the
£15
already
paid
for
reserving
the
table.
Steven
&
the
other
members
of
the
serving
team
are
an
asset
to
Miller
&
Carter.
