(Translated by Google) ~ Aim for Mount Tsukuba! Rin Rin Cycling Road From Tsuchiura Station on the Joban Line to Iwase Station on the Mito Line, a 40km cycling road that uses the remains of the old Tsukuba Railway As I run from Tsuchiura, Mt. Tsukuba, which looked small in the distance, grows larger and larger. The sense of accomplishment of rowing to Mt. Tsukuba with my own foot is quite impressive. The course is well maintained and easy to run. There are some places that go out on the general road, but there are many maps, so basically you don't get lost on a single road. There is a break space every few kilometers that uses the station traces of the Tsukuba Railway era, so it is good to decide on breaks and turnbacks according to your physical strength. There is a light peak around the foot of Mt. Tsukuba, and there is a gentle downhill to Iwase Station. There are many attractions along the line, including the historical wall of Makabe and the remains of the Oda Castle Ruins. Cherry blossoms along the line are also a highlight during the spring season. Visit Date: Sunday, March 22, 2020 Weather: Sunny [☆ Evaluation criteria] ☆☆☆☆☆: It's hard to come across such a wonderful place. Worth a trip to get here. ☆☆☆☆: Must-see, definitely recommended. ☆☆☆: If you have time, we recommend stopping by. ☆☆: Normally, neither good nor bad. ☆: It's disappointing, not too much to stop by. Subjective evaluation full of prejudice and prejudice of traveling. The rating is expected to change significantly depending on the weather, day of the week, time of day, and congestion level when you visit. Please use for reference only.

The round trip from Lake Kasumigaura (Tsuchiura) to Iwase is approximately 80km, but the route from Tsukuba Yamaguchi to Iwase is monotonous with no shops and is not very interesting. From Lake Kasumigaura to Tsukuba Yamaguchi, there is a recommended spot where you can see the cherry blossom tunnel and Mt. Tsukuba very beautifully. There are quite a few shops along the road, so you won't have any trouble finding lunch.

(Translated by Google) Tsuchiura ⇆ Lake Itako For "half-round" touring, the "north side" route is recommended. Although it does not change much on the north and south sides, ・ On the north side, you can make a shortcut for Kasumigaura Bridge according to your physical strength. ・ There are more straight lines than on the south side (the south side often detours to cross the river). ・ There are few anglers on the north side, and there are few cars coming and going. ・ There are spots to visit such as Kasumi Marche / Kasumi Kitchen, Namegata Tourist Product Center, and Rainbow Tower. Toilets are also available at these facilities (more toilets than on the south side). ・ There is "Aso Onsen" on the Tennozaki Park side, where you can take a day trip bath or take a break. About the cycling road along Kasumigaura ● Good points ・ The flat road continues. Cars also run, but it's basically safe. If the weather is nice, you can see Mt. Tsukuba (two peaks are lined up). You can enjoy flowers depending on the season. ・ It is suitable for road racers who want to speed up anyway. ● Caution ・ Unless you are an experienced road racer (a person who rides a road bike with thin tires), do not be confused by the voice and information that "I went around in ◯ hours". The speed varies greatly depending on the type of bicycle, physical strength, wind direction, and whether or not you plan to take a break in the first place. The situation is different for those who move at high speed on a road bike and those who run leisurely on a small-diameter folding bike, for example. Generally, a mamachari that runs in the city is about 15km / h. ・ When driving in a strong headwind, the speed will be considerably slower. Kasumigaura is unobstructed, so it is easily affected by the wind. If you can't get a lot of speed, be prepared to drop to 10km / h or less depending on the conditions. ・ Overall, there aren't many things to see, and the scenery is monotonous (though cycling on the lake is like that). I want to be careful about the seasons I visit. ・ There are few toilets. Wada Park on the south side, Kasumigaura Bridge on the north side, Tennozaki Park, etc. ・ I rarely see restaurants or vending machines. The convenience store on the cycling road is about the Seven-Eleven Inashiki Koto store on the south side. There is a convenience store if you step off the cycling road. ・ Cars and motorcycles are running normally. Not exclusively for bicycles. ・ Since trains do not run along the lake, it is not possible to travel or use trains in an emergency. Therefore, you should bring a minimum puncture repair kit. ・ Of course, it will be dark at night. I want to reach my destination while it is bright. Road racers are popular, but for beginners who want to do a little cycling, the impression is that they will not be able to join the ranks of the popular cycling roads unless they are equipped with a little more equipment. I understand that the tourism association is focusing on it, but I feel that it is still developing. I want you to do your best.

(Translated by Google) A cycling course using the old Tsukuba Railway, a course with a spectacular view where you can see various kinds of cherry blossoms in a section of about 40 km, a flat course with beautifully paved road surface, and guidance is well written. There is no hesitation, it is kind to beginners, and there is a rental cycle, so it is a popular course in Kanto.

I ran a short course of 90km, and it was well maintained and very cheap to run. There is a guide so you can drive without getting lost, but I don't know if it depends on the local government, but there were some places that were hard to find and I got a little lost. Also, there is a public bath, so it might be a good idea to go there by car, take a bath after your run, and then drive home ✌️ However, I felt good running, so I would like to go running again.

Best Cycling Course in Japan. It’s more than 200km long with diverse view. This road is situated all the around the Lake Kasumigaura (2nd Biggest Lake in Japan) through Tsuchiura City, Tsukuba City and ends at Sakuragawa. Around Lake Kasumigaura you enjoy the view of the lake, comfortable cold breeze; from Tsuchiura to Sakura gawa it’s just a spectacular dell of Cherry. The whole course is almost flat. There’s some intersect from Tsuchiura to Kasumigaura. But other than that no other nuisance. Tsuchiura-Sakuragawa portion has some resting area facilities Toilet, resting bench, Cycling Pump, Free drinking water faucet. But I recommend to bring your own pump, food and drinks.

Welcome to Lake Kasumigaura! If you are planning to go around it, be prepared as the scenery will not change anyway. If you go in the summer, you will have the experience of walking through a lonely desert. Watarase Reservoir was also a pain, but this place is also average. Please note that the area is not always reserved for bicycles, and there are some areas where cars can pass. Of course, there are also pedestrians. And there are cats too.

(Translated by Google) It is a cycling road built on the site of the former Tsukuba Railway. I always use it when exercising. The former station is a resting place. It is a good resting place with a well-maintained toilet. Especially, Fujisawa and Makabe are beautiful. Next, Mushikake and Amabiki are good toilets. Tsukuba rest area is dirty. The ruins of Oda Castle are often closed. There is 40km from Iwase Station to Kasumigaura, and it will be 80km round trip. I challenged with a 20-inch folding bike. You need to be a little careful where it crosses the road from Tsuchiura to Mt. Tsukuba, but the road is pretty clean. It is very enjoyable during the cherry blossom season and the autumn leaves season.

(Translated by Google) Abandoned line of Tsukuba Railway + Around Kasumigaura and a super long course as a cycling course I am grateful that Chari only runs flat The total length of 180 km can not run smoothly, so if you think about various courses from rest areas and parks You can enjoy it as it is. I like the piston of the abandoned route because I get tired of it because it's the same scenery when I run along the lake in Kasumigaura. 2023/12/17 Used as a base for cycling. The parking lot seems to be closed at night, but as of December 17, 2023, it was available from 5:30. The shower room can be used for 200 yen for 30 minutes. Great for quick sweating after cycling. Consumables were also sold in vending machines. (cleats, puncture repair kits, etc.) The cycling course has beautiful scenery and good road conditions, so you can enjoy cycling. However, it seems better to consider the wind direction and rotation direction (if necessary). The train departed and arrived near Tsuchiura Station and went counterclockwise. The northwest wind was very strong, and in the second half there was always a headwind, so it was hell.

I rented a bicycle and went to the Mt. Tsukuba rest area. It was my first time riding a long distance, so I was a little nervous, but the roads were so clean and well-maintained that I had a great time cycling. There's something romantic about being able to cycle through places where there used to be railroad tracks. I would like to run again during the beautiful cherry blossom season.

There aren't many convenience stores in sight from the road, so it's a good idea to bring at least hydration and supplements to avoid the hassle of searching. There are also the remains of the former Japanese army, footbaths, and roadside stations, so why not stop by after a break?
