Visiting Ganvie was an intriguing experience with Theophile, he is a very good tour guide who gave me a great tour in general, his English is very good and he’s a warm person, he explained the origin of Ganvie and gave a complete tour around plus he thought how to row a boat, it was a great experience and I highly recommend Theophile as a tour guide if you ever want to visit the great town of Ganvie

Superb afternoon with Théophile and Gilbert, 100% recommended! We left at 3 p.m. for a 3.5-hour outing through Ganvie, where we talked about the life and history of the town. Théophile speaks good English, so we really got to know this magical place through the canals. We stopped off at a high-quality craft workshop, stopped off at a hotel to enjoy a drink on the terrace and then used a pirogue, paddling by ourselves. Just got back from an amazing afternoon at Ganvie with Theophile. I contacted him on very short notice and he managed to put a quick tour together for me. I very mich enjoyed Ganvie, especially on a Sunday since the whole village is out in their Sunday-dresses to attend church. Theophile offers 1½, 3 or even longer tours through Ganvie. I could only do 1½ due to time constraints but I think 3 hours is probably best. You can then go deeper into the delta. Check the pictures, it's a nice day out. Be aware that this is becoming more and more popular, so expect other tourists going round in boats as well 😊

My fiancé and I had a great time visiting Ganvie. Theofil was a great tourist guy, he told us the history of the place, he showed us the school, hospital, churches, and everything in between. It was a beautiful ride and I am so glad we decided to do this.

Ganvié , vraiment un endroit unique que j'ai pu essayer de visiter pour ma toute première fois au Bénin Et surtout un grand merci à notre guide Théo qui a mis en nous ,un énorme plaisir qui nous permet de maîtriser l'histoire proprement dit de ce milieu ....

Une prise en charge de notre hôtel jusque Ganvié dans une ambiance paisible et un guide toujours prêt à répondre à nos questions et envies. Plusieurs arrêts sont organisés pour le plaisir des yeux et pour se désaltérer. Merci pour ce bon moment !

Communication was prompt and thorough from the very beginning. My desire for a tour was short notice, but Arivodji gave me all the info I needed. He was extremely accommodating as we are Americans and only speak English. He conducted the tour for us, in English, and really helped us to feel welcome in such a short time together. Ganvié has been my favorite experience during my teacher fellowship through West Africa. I’d highly recommend any and everyone to book a tour and see the mystical and free village on the water.

Théophile … What a knowledgeable guide.. Took his time to take us around …. We visited a lot and even interact with lots of people.. he speaks French, proper English you can understand , speaks fon and gavie language and slightly Yoruba too . If you really want to have caring and interesting guide , fun learn to paddle canoe and other excitement . This is your guy !
