Colonial Tourism at the Green Ranch - that's why I recommend the Coco Village Guesthouse In South Africa, excursions are now offered to the townships - the poorest of the poor as a tourist attraction. The safaris through the vast steppes of Africa are to serve the African clichés of Western tourists, who owe their support to the media. A particularly perfidious example of colonial tourism is the Green Ranch on Lake Bosumtwe in Ghana. On horseback, tourists can enjoy the bitter poverty of people living in mud huts and then round off the event with an expensive vegan meal. The owner (a swiss lady) rides her horses through the clear water of the lake (please have a look at the photos on the website), which pollute the animals with their feces. THE SAME WATER SERVES THE RESIDENTS AS DRINKING WATER, who repeatedly suffer from diseases caused by contaminated water. People have to drink dirty water in order for the hotel's entertainment-oriented t concept to flourish. If you are looking for a hotel on the lake, I recommend the Coco Village Guesthouse.

The view of the lake from the guest house is awesome! There are different types of rooms which are comfortable with nets and all, very affordable rates. You can go for a swimin the lake from there... I loved the art on the walls ..it had an African feel to it. But it appears the place is powered by a generator so sometimes there might be electricity. I would definitely would like to go there again if the road to it becomes better... But fortunately one can take a boat to cocoa village Guesthouse

Beautiful location with the perfect atmosphere! Very unexpected, food was absolutely delightful. Perfect location for a serene get away from the usual loud commercial locations. Staff were more than helpful and the owner a pleasure to meet. Please keep it up!!! Loved it!!

A beautiful, peaceful spot in nature. You can spend the entire day in the warm water lake. Take out a paddle board and float or explore. Lie in the shade under a tree in a hammock and nap as a small breeze keeps you cool. The charm of the lodge is in its oasis of art painted on the walls and built into the cabins. Order your food ahead of time to have delicious meals served to you when you are ready to eat. The staff are friendly and helpful. The lake road to the guesthouse is rough and slow going, which gives you the opportunity to take in the view of the trees and the villages as you pass by. Enjoy the experience of getting away from the city and traffic and sinking into a mellow spot surrounded by hills, trees, water and fresh air!

Serene and nature friendly environment. A good location to explore lake bosomtwe and have that refreshing feel of nature that a resort cant give. You get a great view of the lake. The only problem is the roads leading there are quite bad. Apart from that it's a good choice to escape city life and be fulfilled.

The road can be quite tricky, but once there, I felt it was worth it. Gorgeous view, tasty food, super sweet staff. And the dogs are awesome.

Elegance crafted from simplicity. Peaceful, serene and lovely. Village-styled rooms. No TV...but for good reasons too. There's so much to see and do! Must Must Must visit if you just want to relax and enjoy nature.

(Translated by Google) The access to the hotel is through a road with many potholes and it is likely that a taxi driver puts a hit. The place is nice and nice, you breathe tranquility, the staff is friendly. I recommend it. (Original) El acceso al hotel es mediante una carretera con muchos baches y es probable que algún taxista ponga pegas. El sitio es bonito y agradable, se respira tranquilidad, el personal es amable. Lo recomiendo.

Overpriced, food and accommodation not worth the money you pay for them... beautiful spot though. I'd recommend green ranch down the road as more affordable and better accommodation standards, free pure water etc

Nice quiet place with a beautiful compound. Service was always prompt and friendly. Food was very tasty and beautifully served. Dormitory could get a bit stuffed, when all beds are booked. Be aware that you'll have to charter a taxi for the last kilometers.

Terrible customer service and the food is extremely expensive and not even nice. Even the wifi is 25 GHC per person per day? And it’s not included in the accomodation. Don’t go! The only thing that is nice is their view and even that is not special. There are other guesthouses around the area with way better prices!!!!!!!!!!

Incredibly expensive, maybe because it is so remote? We had no running water or electricity for most of our stay but only received a very small discount (~5%) in compensation. The staff also tried to pretend we did have running water and accused us of lying when we spoke to management. Great location but that’s about all it has going for it.

This is a very small resort with only a few bungalows. Food and drinks are good, but currently a bit expensive. Here you are quite in the nature near the villages. So you have to like this, then you are good. Walked through the villages around the see, so you can, so you can see cacao plants and bananas an nature on hand

We stayed 2 nights at the Cocoa Village guesthouse at Lake Bosomtwe. Very nice stay in a relaxed atmosphere, the whole team were always very friendly and helpful. And the dogs are great! Food and drinks in the restaurant were good with a stunning view on the lake and the fisherman in the morning. Upon request, the team made a bonfire by the lake in the evening, which was a fascinating moment, medaase! Recommend the nice and cozy guesthouse when visiting Lake Bosomtwe

Very hospitable personal. Nice scenery and recommended place to be. It is only that almost everything (water, drinks, food and other related activities) is more expensive than others guesthouses in the whole neighborhood. It's also not allowed to bring any food or drinks

(Translated by Google) Clean accommodation in super beautiful surroundings on Lake Bosumtwi. The garden is beautifully landscaped and has a number of animals that you can count on to visit the property (eg geckos). The food is very good and the staff are nice, attentive and helpful. We also met the Slovenian owner, who helped us with many tips. At the lake you can swim, walk around the lake or on mountains and meet nice villagers, who, if you are lucky, extra coconut from the tree. Only the journey from Kumasi is a bit difficult. The best way to organize a taxi (about 150 Cedi you have to expect), the road on the last kilometers is very bumpy.

The road is very bad and the taxi drivers charge high prices from Abono to the guest house. The staff is very polite and the prices for accommodation are affordable. You are forced to eat in the guest house because there is nothing else around. Food portions are very small and too expensive.
