I went here thinking that they specialise in natural hair so I could trust them to handle my hair with care. I have 4c natural hair which is almost waist length. Those women BUTCHERED my hair, I held back tears throughout the blow drying. They used a comb separate from the blow drier as if my hair is permed, instead of investing in a blow dryer with the comb attached. Worst pain I have experienced in a salon, and the women were so mocking. All they would say is a sarcastic “sorry” and then continue exactly as they were doing. Unless you are twisting your hair or locking it, don’t go there. They are horrible at handling natural hair, very brutal with the combing, and if it was only one person who was like that, I wouldn’t be writing this review, I would have assumed it was just one bad employee but no. It was THREE women. Never stepping foot there again in my life. A salon where the workers huff and puff and snicker when you tell them you’re in pain.

So I have been a customer of twist and locs since 2016/2017 ish. I'm mostly at the salon every month to get my hair done. I have seen how unprofessional some of the stylists have been over there, regardless, I have recommended so many of my friends and family to this business. It's very sad to say I will not be setting foot at your salons anymore due to the uncouth behaviour of some of the stylists over there(East legon branch to be precise. I got there at 10am and i was attended to after about 20mins. I had to unbraid my jumbo kinky extensions and then braid again. Unbraiding took about 2hrs to complete and I had to wait for about 45mins to an hour for my stylists to prepare the extensions I was going to use(no sense of urgency at all). I specifically mentioned I wanted big twist, bra length and I went on to tell my stylist that I needed to be out of the salon at a particular time. Another stylist came to help and I spoke about my tight schedule and her response "it's not going to be possible " and she walks away. Keep in mind, we had about 3 and half hours to work with, before the time i mentioned. For the amount that I pay, I expected a better service. Other stylists had to beg her her to work with my time. And then she starts to pull my hair with the comb and guess what, she starts braidingand I'm seeing mini twists, after i specifically mentioned I wanted jumbo twists. She had to take them down and then she begins with the jumbo twists, wasting my precious time. I eventually left for my appointment and I was already 1hr late. When it was time to pay, I was charged for small twists. The service this time around was just horrible and exhausting. I have never had a reason to complain all these years but this is just it for me. I'm done, unfortunately.

I appreciate this little beauty shop. I initially thought it was going to be a bad experience because when I arrived on time, one of the stylists didn't even bother to greet me she just asked "what are you doing to your hair" when I responded she rolled her eyes. So that wasn't a great start. But then, everything else after that was lovely. A completely different person- Rasheeda washed my hair along with Awa. Rasheeda was very good at following instructions and dried it properly as I instructed. I have thick free form locs so I have to dry them individually and moisturize them well with Shea butter. They did all of that. Then styled my hair beautifully! I don't know if it's because I'm a sankofa diasporan on the motherland or if it is just my hair itself, but I've been oshun glowing ever since. I'm so happy about my hair. I feel gorgeous again and I wish I'd known about this place sooner.

Great advocates for natural hair. So am I. Lovely ambience too and stock a wonderful variety of natural hair products to help keep you looking authentically African. Gets terribly busy on weekends so patience is required. For the price, I can't say much. Women always spend so much on their hair irrespective of where they do it. But I think the cash you spend here is worth the compliments. They accept electronic payments - cards and mobile money. That's pretty neat, allowing you confidently choose and spend without worrying about how much cash you have at hand.

They comb hair terribly which tears your hair, also they are terrible at dying natural hair. Do not go there if it’s solely to dye hair

I love this salon. I've been bringing my daughter to the location at East Legon since we relocated from the states. Ghanaian stylist are the best when it comes to locs, twists, braiding, etc. The stylists are professionals, the salon itself is beautiful and relaxing. I love that they sell hair care products making it convenient to purchase the products at the salon. The only change I would recommend is selling more Ghana made hair products because I prefer to buy those products over the products coming from the West. We need to support more Ghana made products!

my experience @twistsnlocs was THE ULTIMATE PAMPERING EXPERIENCE . @twistsnlocs salon was clean, modern, and accommodating , I walked right in and out. Advertising as a natural salon with two locations in Ghana (East Legon and osu) AND all the TOP QUALITY products . I came in had a consultation with stylist MATILDA. We were very clear about the style I wanted , during the service she was nice gentle and precise. I left out in a timely fashion with my edges in tact and thriving

I loved it. They took good care of my hair. I enjoyed the washing part. My dreads are a little messy but they managed to make it work and I'm happy about the result😊

Usually very busy. I guess that's because of their customer care. Best to book in advance.

Beware they will steal the hair that you bring and when asked about it they will lie to your face. So make sure if you are bringing your own hair that you watch them closely. Because I have gotten my hair braided several times in the past and it only took 3-4 packs of hair. I bought six packs of hair with me to my appointment and then I asked them to braid my hair and smaller braids but the younger lady told me that I didn’t have enough hair and proceeded to braid my hair in bigger braids than I requested. I will not be coming back.

I arrived as a walk in. I was promptly greeted and asked to have a seat. I was in the shampoo chair within 15 minutes and Racheal was amazing. Vida began my hair service and was done with my hair in about 1 hour. I will definitely return when I am in Accra. I am from the USA

The lady who does all the hair in the pictures must not have been there when I went. And they definitely changed the price on me thinking I wasn't Ghanaian. What a shame.

Love this place! It is worth every dime to have solid pricing and an appointment slot. You better believe every available hair braider will be working to get you IN and OUT fast. Gone are the days of spending hours and hours getting your hair done with one hair braider. Recommend 100 times over. They also listen!

After being recommended I decided to inquire before going... quite disappointed that they didn't respond. I mean why have communication lines if you aren't going to respond.
