Very good, warm food pricey but you pay for what you get. Very good customer service but some staff do need to learn to smile whilst serving. The place was clean and tidy however the lightings above the table I was eating at did have cobwebs grown, could do with a regular clean. Beautifully decorated lobby area. And very nice presentation from the outside too. Definitely a place to recommend for family and friends to eat at.

Visited for a birthday dinner, turns out to be the worst birthday ever with terrible food and service. Arrived on time and had to wait half an hour just for the staff to put a few tables together. Eventually we sat down, and they brought the plates to our table which were dirty, and then proceeded to clean them in front of us with a dirty cloth. And yet when we gave them back and asked for clean plates, they pretended to clean them and give us new ones, but instead gave us the same dirty plates. The glasses were then brought out and again were dirty, one guest even received a glass with a lipstick stain from a previous customer already on it! Then it was time for the food. Absurdly, the starters arrived at the same time as the main course. This was confusing to all of us on what to eat first, as starters as supposed to come before the mains. Then we began eating, and the meat was old overcooked and did not taste fresh. THEN, one of us found a BIG PLASTIC PIECE in a lamb shank. To top it all off, the guest kept eating and found ANOTHER even bigger piece of plastic in the food. The naan bread holders was also all dusty and dirty, this place had no hygiene at all. We were all DISGUSTED and lost our appetites immediately, scared to find even more objects in the food. While eating, it didn’t help the table was broken and kept wobbling making it hard to eat. The audacity of the staff acting all arrogant and displeased that we had some serious issues with our service, also made us uncomfortable. The entire birthday dinner was absolutely ruined, and we wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else unless you want diarrhoea and terrible service. I hate to leave bad reviews but this night was abysmal and anyone wanting to go here should be warned.

Peshwari naan bread was very dense and lots of almonds, raisins and a couple of pineapple chunks just thrown on there. Asked for a pathia which I get wasn't on there menu but said they could make it for me. I have to say it has got to be the worst curry I've ever had. The worst naan bread I've ever had/seen. The front of house staff were very nice and friendly though. Food was definitely very over priced and really poor quality. I definitely won't be going here again.

Excellent choice for main course desi Pakistani food. Their Currys are fresh and spot on. However there starters are average… so I will avoid these where possible - we tried a large variety and nothing struck as good. Avoid salt and pepper starters - misleading. Would come again but for mains only. Also service can be improved a notch or two

I totally ditto most of the bad reviews on here! Food below par and service you cant get any lower! It is truly right at the bottom of the pit! Unfortunately this place wasn't our first choice it was more of a compulsory decision as it was my daughter's birthday and I wanted to treat her with dining in somewhere....£80 down and nothing to shout home about!! Not sure how they justify the prices of their dishes when every single dish has the gravy from the big pan in the back in common! Some places have bad food and some places bad service, I would have allowed the food had the service made up! Icing on the cake for bad service was when the waiter came and slammed the bill down on the table and firmly said we are closed!! I was still chewing my food, I mean come on , how very rude!! I don't think the staff really enjoy working there as this is demonstrated in their overall conduct! Guys you keep harping on about awards ? Where are these awards being presented or bought ? Cheetham Hill Road haha ....on a serious note paying customers have a certain expectation, at least give people their money's worth ! If not via food then at least via the service provided! Rant over!! 😏

I had my daughters 1st birthday there yesterday. We had a lovely experience. The food, service and customer service was excellent. The manager Ameer gave us the best experience ever. We thank the staff at Shimlas spice for the excellent service.

Beautiful place, excellent service, really friendly staff. Food looked superb but tasted sadly too bland for my palate. I would go back and try different dishes. Perhaps it was me ordering the wrong dishes......I always try something new perhaps I was unlucky.

Lovely authentic restaurant and very nice staff good value for money. I wasnt happy with the Dansk curry it was tastless and the Peshwari nan was dry and nothing like what I have eaten before it had large pieces of pinapple on it and no taste of coconut which is a typical Peshwari nan. I could have complained but to be honest I couldn’t be bothered.

We visited last night straight from work, and partner had the chicken karahi and said it is the best he's had so far. We like to travel for our meals, but when it comes to a curry. We stay close to home and pay you a visit. Lovely as always, thank you.

Absolutely incredible food and service. Although amazingly busy, they still found the time to talk to us and ask about the meal. 10/10. Will never stop coming here!

Ordered food to collect and take away. Food was already nearly cold as it was brought to me before leaving. Staff also not very friendly. Price was high compared to other places but food quality doesn't justify the difference. Looking back now at other people's reviews I notice most of the positive ones are from accounts with only one single review which pretty much repeat the same things. Obvious some tricks going on with the ratings here.

Absolutely fantastic meal as always. Desi range is always a go to and the new oriental wings and chops are amazing! Excellent service from the staff who are always there whenever needed. Great atmosphere within the stunningly designed restaurant and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a authentic meal with friends and family.

This was my third visit to Shimla spice the first two times it was good food with good service today the food was very average and the service was very poor. I found a hair on the popadom and when I picked up the popadom there was live mosquito under it and when I showed it to the staff he walked away with the plate and he didn't say a word no apology and didn't replace it either. This time it was new staff I hadn't seen before and it may be under new management. I wouldn't be going back again.

Always come here with my family and its an absolute go to based in Central Burnley. Food is always fantastic and the waiters are so good to the customers. My family enjoy having the Desi Sizzler mix as it has many different starters on it and the desi chicken karahi is full of flavour! Get yourselves down ASAP!

Looking for a Pakistani food restaurant in Burnley, we were guide to Shimla Spice and we were so glad to be there. We ordered prawn masala, chicken tikka, mutton balti and dhal (lentils) along with the naan bread. Everything was very well cooked, just the right combination of spices. We were impressed to see the large sized naans that were served to us on a stand. That was unique..... never saw a naan served in this manner whole my life. Its a bit noisy out there but the restaurant was full and we had to wait for 15 minutes to get a table. Service is very efficient and responsive. Would love to go there again whenever in Burnley.

Very good restaurant. Wide range of food difficult to choose what to order. Polite and attentive staff. Remember you need to take your own booze that's why it is value for money
