I recently ordered from Yakinori and wanted to share my positive experience with their duck bao. It was genuinely enjoyable, with a well-balanced mix of flavors and a satisfying texture. If you're a fan of duck or looking to explore something new on their menu, I recommend giving it a try.

I ordered a chicken platter and was beauts! The egg was boiled to perfection, the sushi wasn't the best, the firecracker chicken was soooo good and I enjoyed the katsu chicken, not the best ive had but definitely good. I liked the selection of the box it was definitely enough to fill your stomach. I would like to try their noodles or even their bao buns next time

We were served by Narayani a she was the kindest, most helpful, funny person. She was very accommodating. The food was a 10/10, fresh, tasty, flavourful. We had the fried chicken noodles, firecracker poke bowl and a chicken poke bowl. We all LOVED. Would recommend to everyone. WOWOWOW!

Absolutely amazing food when you dine in. Delivery or takeaway can be tricky sometimes. Very friendly staffs specially Adrita and Riya. As a regular customer there we can definitely recommend this restaurant.

Stumbled upon this place by accident and have been coming every week for the past month! Kids love the Chicken Katsu and the sushi is lovely as well! Chicken is nice and crispy and the curry sauce is very tasty. The Ramen bowls are very good and you won’t leave feeling hungry as the portion sizes are very good. You have to try the Bao buns, they are to die for! Service is friendly and fast so you won’t have to wait too long to get your food. Price is very reasonable and won’t break the bank. Keep up the good work guys!

Service was great, wait for food wasn’t too long and waitress was so lovely. Food was delicious, portion size was perfect we had to take most of it out for takeout. The deals on sushi are slightly overpriced, they have set menus on it but not everyone likes the set menu so picking and choosing own ones does add up. We ordered bubble tea as well, it’s very basic bubble tea, only toppings you can get are popping bubbles but the grand central yakinori do not offer bubble tea so I suppose it’s good that they do here. Overall food was 7/10, just disappointed in the set menu for sushi and the bubble tea could do with more toppings! Overall experience here was fine as the customer service was good. This yakinori is also halal and a bonus for students as they do 20% off! Would highly recommend egg friend rice that I bought, was amazing.

My family came here to try the food, which was delicious. But we were even more surprised (pleasantly) by the service! Our server which I wish I could remember his name (he had pink in his hair) was so friendly, gave recommendations when we couldn't decide and made our overall experience a great one. Plus, they offer discount for emergency workers.

Food does not have the wow factor taste wise. Service was not really all that 3 dishes and 4 cans of coke for £52. Going to my local takeaway with better taste, cheaper and better service.

Its not the worst food I've had while out and around in Birmingham but its the worst JAPANESE food we've had in Birmingham. It wasn't Hot, The katsu curry was bearly warm and the flavour was extremely artificial and screamed I'm from a jar. ( can't remember the name of the other dish, we halved 2 dishes ) again really artificial. The vegetables was fresh and a fair sized portion, the seaweed was nice and fresh. On a positive note the table was clean, and the staff was adequate.

This place offers very poor service. I spent at least 20 mins before receiving the menu and 45mins before getting our food. It is comphresenible that the shop is busy but a minimum level of politness and good customer service is required. One of the server just threw the menu and the cultery onto our tables and was very rude. I defintenely wouldn't recommend this place. The food was of bad quality as well

The service was very very poor, we had to wait about 20min to get the menu and for at least 45min to get the food. Furthermore, the customer service was just dreadful, one said everything was 50% while another says only for food so ended up spending more than calculated. Please review your stuff. Thank you.

First time in this restaurant. Service was dismal. Starters (appraisers) came at different times. so did the mains. Food was not great, mainly tasting of MSG. I had to ask for serviettes, spoons etc for several times. Even the bill came after asking for it 4 times!

Ordered from deliveroo driver dropped the order in the road, collected it up and tried to deliver, obviously we refused the order as it has just been picked up out the road!!!! Called and spoke to the manager clearly not their fault it's the delivery companies fault, if only all delivery companies could take the blame for all poorly packaged items!!! This restaurant packed the order which leaked and damaged the bag leading to the food being dropped on the floor by the delivery driver. Driver left the empty bag in the road and utensils on the recycling bin. Completely unhelpful, useless manager who cannot take responsibility for his failures. Thank goodness the delivery firm have good customer service. Redelivered order arrived and mochi arrived looking and with the consistency of raw eggs. Will not be ordering from here again.

Serve MOULDY food. Save yourself the sickness! I had the firecracker cauliflower noodles. The cauliflower was mouldy - gone off and green! It was battered so we didn’t realise until biting into the rotten veg. Absolutely disgusting. Horrendous quality food. You might not even realise. Safe yourself the sickness and go somewhere else. I used to come here a lot but selling gone off food, visibly green and mouldy shows that they do not take any sort of basic care when making the food. They don’t do any basic hygiene checks or anything. Abysmal.

Fantastic! I came in with my family last friday and may I say I was not disappointed. The service was remarkable. Joana (the hostess assigned to our table) was very friendly, helpful but most importantly attentive to all our needs. She came every so often to refill our teas and waters (we didn't even have to ask). Hands down to the management training of this facility I am beyond impressed by the service. The dishes recommended were wonderful as well. Will be coming back soon and looking for my hostess!

Yakinori's food is just about average compared to the price. There are many eateries nearby which serve delicious South East Asian food. However, it is a good place for a try maybe.

Normally, I'm a chicken man. After having feasting quite a lot on chicken recently, I decided to go for a beef dish. The Beef Kokonutsu was out of this world! Definitely will be going again.

Absolutely delicious I am obsessed with the vegitarian Bento box. I love that Yakiniri is halal (only two dishes that are not), I always plan to try one of the other bento boxes but often end up getting the vegetarian bento box or the cauliflower or firecracker chicken noodles which are divine. My go to for takeaway when in the office, I smile with every bite. Plan to make a visit to solihull to eat here with my sister

Dropped my offspring at Uni...had a verbal recommend from another student...and was really impressed with the place portions sizes were good. I wish I'd got the name of the lady serving (glasses, p.m. on Sunday 7 Aug)...really speesy and attentive waitress. The sushi was spot on...the smoothies were just right. Worth a meal there...

Staff is amazing and friendly. Their food is cooked really well. But the firecracker sauce for the Katsu chicken take out is horrible. I thought it would be spicy but it was really sweet. I wanted to return it but the staff is so nice in this branch so I didn’t.

The noodles are good. Staff helps to select out the menu as per your taste. The food is halal except for 2 items for which they are not sure of contents one is sauce (don't remember the name) and one more yudun noodles probably. Sushi is good but its just like cold soft rice with bland taste, probably best for Japanese but not for Indian or pakistani or one of spicy taste. Food presentation is awesome, looks yummy, you can go for momos or even starters here.

I ordered on uber eats and after placing the order I called them to make sure utensils were included but they didn't. When the food arrived the soup leaked and everything fell on the street rendering u edible. I placed a second order immediately and again I called them to pack it properly with double bag and to include utensils. Guess what they did non of it and the bag almost ripped again from leakage. Some 2 brain cells geniuses are working there.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Ordered on uber eats, took over two hours to arrive. Rang the restaurant to be told they were too busy (if you can't handle the amount of orders coming in, don't take them!). Poor delivery driver was stood in the restaurant for ages. Food arrived and it was cold, mochi was melted, drinks were missing. Absolute garbage and for over £60! Never ordering again.

On 19th November, they weren't doing the bento box due to lockdown. I ordered the regular box with teriyaki sauce. The sauce was nasty, looked very dark and tasted very old. It's not how I remembered it from before

Took my wife here recently as a reward for passing her 2nd year exams, we've been meaning to try it for a while. I went in with comparing it to Wagamama and an amazing Japanese all you can eat buffet in Portugal. The service, food and price were decent. They accommodated in replacing meat with fish only in our mixed fried sushi. We also got the Yasai vegetable gyoza. Both were really nice and complimentary miso soup. This was much lighter and different to Wagamama miso soup. Was quite nice for me, my wife liked it more. For main we got the Seafood ramen and Teriyaki Salmon Don. Both were a good portion and we both swapped half mains as we usually do to try more items together. I would say I prefer the Wagamama seafood ramen more as the ramen here was light miso without soy sauce I believe or just light miso. The normal ramen I've eaten is a darker colour and I prefer it more I think with the dark miso. All in all a good experience and would definitely go back if in the area and if I wanted Japanese cuisine. I would put it slightly under Wagamama but only due to the difference in the miso flavour in the ramen. Other items could be better.

Poor excuse for a poke bowl, especially considering the price is so much more than other poke places. Was dry and very poor quality of the ingredients.

Takeaway takes toooo long, I have told to collect my order in 2-3 mins and received the order after exactly 18 mins. The food was decent, but would never buy here again

the service was amazing i think maybe there could be more flavours and sizes for bubble tea buy overall it was so nice and great service will come back again

  • 5/5 Jolanda M. 4 years ago on Google
Super cool place to eat! I'd recommend reservations if you're in a group. It's delicious and worth its price, definitely! The picture shows the Too Good To Go portion you get for sushi. I wouldn't recommend the warm food version of TGTG, it's just noodles with sauce and I think not worth being called food saving. But Yakinori is the best!

  • 4/5 Chris S. 5 years ago on Google
Very nice, authentic food, a very varied and extensive menu and the Bubble Tea is so nice it makes it worth the trip by itself. The prices seemed a little steep for the restaurant given the student density of the location, but they offer a very generous discount to both Students and NHS staff.

We have been going to yakinori and woktastic for years and the food has always been nice. Because of covid at the moment they only do takeout, we had the "takeaway lunch" but we did not really enjoy it, I would suggest putting a lot less sauce so we can enjoy the flavours. The food from the menu has always been yummy so would defo go back and order from the menu.

Undercooked rice, rock solid fire cracker chicken, Rock solid dumplings. Was impressed the first time I went. This is my 2nd visit and super dissapointed. Not giving a 1 star as the ramen soup was good the first time around.

  • 3/5 Khaleda A. 3 years ago on Google
There was only one waiter there who was very busy with making drinks, we had to ask if we can sit on one of the empty tables as we were waiting for some time.. also we had to get our own menus.. I like their dim sum dumplings, but wasn't very fond of the sushi, stir-fry is good and so is the ramen.
