The food is great here but most of all I really like the friendly service, it’s above and beyond.

Meal for 4, food quality above expectations, as a portuguese group we felt that we were back home, eating our traditional dishes with even better taste. The products were definitely picked by its quality, very well served meals, very good service overall. We had a lot of fun and nothing was too much trouble. All staff amazing and we are looking forward to see them all again very soon. We highly recommend this place to have a taste of Portugal culture and vibe. Found this place after eating across the road a few days before and thought it looked worth a go as it was busy. Booking online is easy and conformation email's are instant. Staff are very friendly when we arrived and after providing us with menus gave a short time before coming for drinks orders. The problem was, what to eat, I pretty much fancied everything on the menu, so we agreed on starters and said we were still thinking of mains. We had the Portugese Sausage with bread. Prawns with bread and a chilli and butter sauce. Peri peri chicken. Each course was excellent, full of flavour and cooked superbly. Mains, I went for the traditional fish stew my partner the lamb and again absolutely faultless. Dessert, churros cooked to perfection and a biscuit based cream cake covered on coffee. Now I am a size 11 hands and it was easy this size, humongous. All the time live music in the background. I asked for the bill and noticed we had spent 2 hours 40 minutes there and hadn't even noticed, a true sign you have had a truly wonderful evening. Absolutely a must go to place.

Portuguese culinary magnificence in the heart of Acocks Green!? I associate Acocks Green more with Bowling and Lazer Quest than I do with quality restaurants. I was shocked then, in the most positive in senses, when I saw Porto Douro. The clean blue and white colours of the Mediterranean filled my view as I looked at the entrance. The Med theme continued throughout the interior. The attention to detail of the interior must be commended. There is so much to see: Information plaques, pictures, trinkets, musical instruments. The atmosphere is amplified with a selection of Portuguese pumping out the stereo system, hooked up to the large screen TV. What about the food and service? The folk at Porto Douro are a group of experienced restauranteurs. The pace, presentation and preparation was perfect. Thanks team for your recommendations. I have to commend the chef. It's rare to have freshly cooked bread, the Papo Seco, to accommodate a course. My favourite dish by far was the Calderirada de Peixe, a Portuguese fish stew. Huge chunks of seafood and small pieces of shell fish, cooked in a tomato based soup. I'm off to Portugal in April. My expectations of their cuisine is now off the charts thanks to my Porto Douro experience.

Good Portuguese restaurant with a large choice for starters, main plates and desserts Staff is really welcoming and nice The service is good as well We ordered different starters i.e. Sardinhas fritas, cubos de galinha picantes, lulas (fresh calamari) and Salsisha de churrasco. We did like fried sardines (sardinhas fritas),chorizo (salsisha de churrasco) and lulas. Piri piri chicken (Galinha picantes) could be spicier and better. Main plates : Francesinha Porto Douro was good (generous portion), Bacalhau a bras (could be tastier), caldeirada de peixe (large portion and really good) and bitoque Porto Douro (good). Dessert : churros (excellent) and pasteis de nata (really good) Red wine : Cartuxa was good

It feels so good to go back to our roots and eat authentic Portuguese comforting food. A beautiful and super friendly place. The food is simply amazing. I highly recommend!!!

It was the first time we had been to Porto Douro after being recommended by a few people we booked a table. The whole evening was perfect, the staff were brilliant, discreet but always nearby when we wanted more drinks. The food was amazing, from the starters to the enormous dessert, all tasted and presented beautifully. The cocktails were also a nice touch and don't get me started on the Portuguese bread! We will definitely be back....soon! Thank you for a lovely evening.

This was my girlfriend & myself’s first time at a proper Portuguese restaurant and my word…was it ‘proper’. I opted for the traditional selection of meats and I’ve honestly never tasted such succulent and flavoursome meats in my life. My girlfriend had a traditional sausage with egg and it was absolutely gorgeous. We also had calamari to start and it was some of the best calamari we’ve ever eaten! I would highly recommend this place and we will definitely be coming back for more authentic Portuguese food!

We felt welcomed here, the restaurant is airy, clean and has freshly white interiors with Portuguese traditional touches, it has a local familiar feel rather then a commercial restaurant. We loved the food and wine, they looked spectacular, bread was warm, olives, sausages, mains were all generous portions and delicious.

Fantastic experience, the staff were friendly, the menu had so many tasty sounding choices and everything I selected was great, and everything I tried from my families selections was really tasty too. The portions here are large, you won't leave hungry.

We love this restaurant. Authentic Portuguese food in friendly, relaxed and atmospheric surroundings. A good variety on the menu. My daughter had a bit of a shock when she ordered the pork ribs which was huge 😳.

Lovely and welcoming surounding. Always busy,even book in advance needed to wait till table will be free.But complimentary drinks were given for being patient.:) Polite and friendly staff and sooo amazingly delivious food!

We had booked a table for lunch but unfortunately had to make it a take away as we were running late for the next timed appointment. The restaurant made sure that our takeaway was ready on time to be collected and the food was delicious. I felt sorry that we could not dine in as soon as I entered the restaurant. Good interiors, ambience and friendly staff.

I love this restaurant! They have a great menu, and I'm always happy to try something new. My favourite dish is the Paté de Sapateira, which is crab meat, boiled egg, pickles, and mayo mixed with fresh parsley, served on Portuguese toasted bread slices. I don't often come for a full meal because the side plus a starter is so filling :) the drinks are plentiful and they have lots of options. I think I will be visiting again soon.

First time eating here I really enjoyed the food it's cooked well and the staff are very friendly and polite. I ordered myself a bitouqe it's a classic Portuguese dish which is very nice I would definitely suggest trying it . If you haven't tried a Portuguese restaurant before and your local in the area I suggest to go here as you will be very happy with the service you will receive.

Dear Readers The Restaurant is amazing, especially for those who are in love with Portugal. The meals which I had pleasure to have were absolutely delicious. The owners are extremely kind. We had no problem at all to find a carpark space which was close to the entrance. The interior is very cosy. Prices are reasonable. I recomend this place with whole my heart and definitely will come back to try the other meals.
