I have a strong astigmatism, can only wear hard contacts and have a difficult time finding a doctor who will take the time to find ones that fit right. Dr. Butzon suggested scleral lenses, which have been life changing for me. I can see so much better, and the contacts are the most comfortable pair I have ever had. He was so patient throughout the process, and never gave up on me. I am so grateful to find a doctor that truly cares about his patients, and will keep working until he finds the best fit for them. I highly recommend Dr. Butzon. I took my teenage daughters to him too, and they like how he showed them the images of their eyes from the tests, and explained what they mean. They liked learning about their eye health.

Great eye care here. I struggle with many migraines and medication does not help so Dr. Butzon decided to test my eye muscles and saw that they do show functional problems. He took his time and helped me find lenses that would help with the eye strain I have to alleviate my migraines. Was very grateful to find a solution to my migraines!!

If you need a terrific eye doctors, this is the place to go. Both doctors are awesome, innovative, and furious followers of technology and new treatments for their patients. We make our appointments from Florida with them because we know that they will take care of us. Their office is very comfortable, they take all the precautions for your health. Staff is priceless, very helpful, friendly, yet professional. Both doctors are caring, make sure that the patients are taken care of and happy when they leave. Good doctors but their office policy is trash. My appointment was canceled because I didn’t respond to a text to confirm my apt. Why would I schedule an apt and not show up to it? After I’ve been coming here for about 10 years. I’ve never been to any other doctors office that has this rule and straight up cancels your apt. I will be looking elsewhere for care now.

If you are having an issue being fitted for Scleral Contact Lenses, your next step should be to make an appointment at DuPage Optical in Addison, I can’t tell you how blessed I feel to have found Dr. Butzon and his team just blocks from my home! I have been wearing Hard and Rigid Gas Permeable Contact Lenses in Single Vision, Mono Vision and Multifocal for almost 50 years and in the last 4-5 years another eye doctor had tried to fit me with Multifocal Scleral Lenses due to the shape of my Corneas. When that was unsuccessful I was told that it was due to my age and that Multifocal Lenses were no longer an option, that I needed to pick between close or distance vision and I would need to wear glasses along with Single Vision contacts. I really struggled accepting this and finally made the decision to get another opinion, well I have to tell you that Dr. Butzon is the most patient and through eye doctor I have ever had and I can honestly say that I am 150% satisfied with my new Scleral Multi Focal contact lenses. I have not seen this clearly for reading, computer and distance in what seems like forever, thank you so much for everything, you are the best!

DuPage Optical is a great family place for optical care. A real patient friendly atmosphere. Everybody who works there is very friendly and personable.

First time at this facility...BEWARE! Went in for a routine eye exam, they informed me about non covered $49 refraction test, which I opted for. At the end of visit, they said my out of pocket was $89. I said the refraction test was only $49, they said well we decided to do a retinal image which is not covered, which was never discussed. Reluctantly, I paid. Months later I receive a bill for 129.76!!! The office stated, the actual visit was not covered by insurance? My Insurance Co. said because they coded it as a medical visit, its not covered, it should be billed as vision. DuPage Optical office said they cannot re-code and send under vision because he is diabetic and they did a diabetic vision test!! Found out, by billing under vision they receive a contracted insurance amount, by billing invalid way, it's denied and they charge patient the entire amount! Will not return.

I have been a patient of Dr. Herzberg for many years, and Dr. Butzon for about a year. I had Radial Keratotomy on one eye almost 40 years ago, resulting in one irregular cornea and one that requires quite a strong prescription, which makes both eyes a challenge to fit contact lenses. There are also other issues relating to having such different prescriptions in the two eyes. My situation must be at least a 9 out of 10 on the difficulty scale! Both Dr. Butzon and Dr. Herzberg have been incredibly generous with their time; endlessly willing to consider and experiment with various alternatives. Their concern for their patients is quite evident, and I consider myself very fortunate to have found such great doctors.

I love Dr.B! Great care and explains everything throughly. Best of all he takes his time and addresses concerns. I have been seeing him 15+ years. I came in for my yearly exam and had to bring my daughter who is 5 and he made her apart of the visit explaining what was going on during the exam and showing her pictures of mommy's eyes and explaining every step he is doing to help her understand and he left a great impression on my daughter. She might not have been the patient but had a great visit with mom eye appt! Highly recommend!

This place is the best eye facility I've ever been to. The receptionist very kind and helpful and the doctor was amazing. He Had a great attitude and not only did he focus on the task, but also patient comfort. Took the foreign object out of my eye in a matter of seconds.

My Dr transferred to DuPage Optical. The staff was friendly & accommodating. They were very thorough with all these tests and scans. I got the same great care as I am use to. I would recommend them to others.

Dr. Butzon gave my elderly mother an eye exam at home, and he was fantastic. Kind, professional, thorough, good humored and reasonably priced. My mother greatly appreciated his visit and looks forward to seeing him again next year.

This place is great! The staff is incredibly helpful and communicative. Dr. Butzon took his time explaining everything during my eye exam and helping me find the best contact lenses for my eyes. Definitely one of the most informative eye appointments I've had!

Excellent service. Unfortunately, my family had 2 eye emergencies in the last 6 months. The nice team scheduled us quickly, both times. The Amazing Dr. Butzon completed the eye exam, was very knowledgeable about my diagnosis, and resolved all of our concerns. Overall great experience, knowledgeable and very kind team.

I was welcomed in, every reason for a test/exam was explained to me by Nora before I participated and most importantly the health of my eye was of Dr. Cho's main concern. I discovered that the health of my ocular glands were compromised due to years of outdated contacts that previous doctors had not examined. I'm very grateful to have been told this and we found eye contacts that were more congealed and would prevent the stop the damage to my ocular glands. I am very happy to have visited a local and very well organized eye care facility. Will highly recommend to friends and family. Upon the end of my exam I decided to purchase frames in-house and there was no pressure or assumptions to my election of price or frames. Wendy answered all my pricing questions regarding my insurance and I left happy with my choice.

Dr Butzon is excellent. He and his staff are very professional, knowledgeable and very friendly. The transition from glasses to contacts was made very easy and painless with he and his staff, from the initial testing, exam, consulting, training through ordering. Dr Butzon steered me to the soft multifocal lenses, so no more cheaters (and prescription glasses) for reading, driving, etc..and lying everywhere with every power and type available at home, car, etc. I waited way to long to get contact lens, and even with family and friends nudging me to try contacts I remained hesitant. Like everyone, touching ones' eyes that we have naturally protected all our lives (some of us a very long time) can be difficult especially at first, but turned out well worth it, at least for me and many others I know. Contact lens clearly have advantages and disadvantages, but now that I have and use them, I will always wear/use them. Dupage Optical, Dr Butzon and his staff are highly recommended. And if you haven't considered contact lens, perhaps another consideration is due. Definitely consider Dupage Optical. I would bet they can meet and exceed any of your optical needs. Again Thank you Dr Butzon and all of your staff. You’re the best.

I used to suffer from debilitating migraines. I was even prescribed medication by my primary doctor for my headaches. One visit to Dupage Optical changed my life. I was actually overprescribed by my previous eye doctor! Dr. Butzon adjusted my current prescription and I no longer need to take medication for my migraines. He takes time to listen to all my concerns and is very thorough. Thanks Dr. Butzon!!!
