Walked very long and came all the way to Adelaide searching for something that is actually interesting only to get turned down when on the brochure it said that you could go into the exhibition but then the staff turned us around. The older lady was quite rude whereas the younger one was nicer but they should fix their brochure.

We had previously done the house tour in 2016 but decided to do it again. There had been quite a lot of changes to both the items displayed and the museum itself, so it was definitely worth a second visit. The house is incredible with an amazing number of antiques. As beautiful as the individual pieces are, the house really displays the personality and interests of David Roche himself which makes it all the more interesting. As a champion dog breeder, he obviously had a great love of dogs and other animals which is displayed throughout the house and particularly in one of the rooms. His many ribbons won throughout his time as a breeder and show judge are displayed beautifully. Even the bathrooms are beautifully decorated and painted. The museum section has different exhibitions which are very interesting and will incorporate items from David Roche's collection that are relevant. The exhibition currently is about Wedgewood ceramics which seemed very interesting. The beauty of this museum and house is that not everything is hidden behind glass. You can take photos and see things close up. The price to see the house is not super cheap but is understandable given the incredible collection and the risk involved in having too many people passing through. You certainly do see a lot though. Even though we got about two hours in the house, it feels rushed as there is so much to see. I saw that they have made the house completely accessible now, with a wheelchair lift for the one short set of stairs. The house is cramped but there is room for a wheelchair to move through. The toilets are beautifully maintained with massive individual unisex bathrooms with a disabled toilet and ambulatory toilet. The car park is very good now too with lots of shady trees. When we came in 2016 there was little to no parking on site. I would definitely be interested in coming back to see exhibitions which you can do without the house tour, and maybe doing the house tour a third time in the future.

I won't be the first to say "this is a cave of wonders" but it most emphatically is. The guides were also excellent, very informative without drowning you in detail

Saw the Arthur Boyd tapestry exhibition today, which were really good. But we were told we could look in the two rooms adjacent to reception, when we did a very frosty woman came up to us and said "We're about to start a tour, can you leave." ... There's a way to politely manage visitors, and her tone and attitude wasn't it. Really soured the whole experience. Wouldn't recommend visiting because she made it that unpleasant. She needs training on how to speak to human beings.

Wedgwood comes in many forms... all delightful and such a joy to see them at close quarters. An unmissable exhibition

We popped in to check out the Arthur Boyd exhibition which finishes on September 2nd and it was most worthwhile, a series of sketches and drawings by Boyd and huge tapestries of those drawings, all related to St Francis of Assisi. Most impressive

A jewel box of European treasures housed in a pastiche palace of one man's excess, presented with passion by an incredible group of guides.

Lovely gallery space featuring interesting and engaging exhibits. The only downside was that they didn't advertise the exhibit entrance fee on visible signage outside so it was a bit of a surprise when we went to enter

Amazing collection. Pity you don't get the chance to enjoy the whole collection as you are directed through the rooms with info only on the items that the tour host is interested in. Would be a greater experience if you had the ability to look without the pressure of being on a tour.

This Musuem was named after a Dog Judge who was a member of Dogs-SA at Kilburn for many years and was a judge at one of our Dog Shows. He was famous for his comments about certain Dog breeds. We as Dog owners and handlers will miss his funny comments about dog breeds in Australia and South Australia too. His Foundation Museum is huge with his collection of canine books, figurines and other items. Well worth seeing and visiting this place. It is a must to book ahead via his website.
