The service desk was okay, not much enthusiasm from the front desk staff. Location is great. I got a one bedroom service apartment that has ocean views. You can watch the sun set on a clear day. Rooms are dated. They could use some love and renovation. Overall still very happy with my stay at Oaks.

Hotel rooms are very tired and dated, with many stains, cracks, and malfunctioning items. One of our rooms smelled of stale cigarettes and was very noisy (you could hear everything from people on the balconies around you). We also found other people’s hair in our bed which is pretty disgusting. They also charge you for absolutely anything and everything (eg. $20 per day for a baby cot, $22 per day parking, etc) on top of the already overpriced rooms. The Location and view of the beach were incredible though. Staff were also friendly.

Great location however our experience was not a good one. We arrived after a long day of driving looking forward to a great night's sleep. The loud music commenced at 10pm. We rang reception at midnight and enquired how long it would go for. We were told till 2am both Friday and Saturday nights. We were offered another room but at that stage to dress and pack up to change rooms was not enticing. We got a few hours sleep but at 6am the planes commenced. Surely if you're in a flight path double glazed windows are essential. As well as the outside elements, the plumbing needs some review. Every time someone uses a toilet or turns on a tap you hear it. We were offered a $20 refund on one day's parking for our inconvenience. Great view but unfortunately a bit disappointing. on a tap nearby you hear it.

Great sized rooms, brilliant location literally on the beach and 5mins to to bars, restaurants and shops. The only thing that stopped me giving 5* Is that the roomd need a bit of a touch up paint wise. Great view if you're on the side of the beach

Location is the only nice thing to say about this place. Stayed here for 3 nights including our wedding night. Being a very special occasion we paid extra for a premium room. I was very disappointed with the quality of the room. For the price I expect a lot better. Dirty walls, cracked glass, dirty carpets, cracked tiles, broken screen, draws that don't open due to poor design of room layout.

Check in at reception was busy and staff were not happy. No recognition of our loyalty level or upgrade. No bottle water in the room either. Rooms are clean but dated. Some kitchen items were dirty. If you are going to make guests clean the crockery etc that they use, then the least housekeeping can do is check that they HAVE been cleaned! The safe is so small that there is no way you could fit a laptop in there! Staff did not enforce guests to wear masks and staff themselves did not wear them correctly. I appreciate it was a busy time of year but I would not stay here again. Very average.

We stayed in the Premier Ocean View suite and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The bathrooms could be a bit better as the grout in the shower is mouldy and bathtub is stained. I do think some renovations will be needed before too long. Having said that, the lounge and kitchen area were good and clean and the bed was very comfortable. One big downer is the lounge was so uncomfortable we didn't end up using it. We had a balcony overlooking Glenlg Beach wad was really nice. I found the front desk workers to be extremely friendly and helpful. We only ate at Coast restaurant there and the food was really nice and the staff very friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

We are currently staying here for 7 days, on our first trip to Adelaide- there’s are lots of pros and cons to staying here: Pros: 1. Spacious, clean room 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms for 6 of us is very comfortable. 2. The view at our room is incredible, best view I’ve ever had, for that alone- worth it. 3. Great area of glenelg, can walk everywhere, don’t need a car, and literally right on the beach 4. Staff are friendly and accommodating Cons: 1. First issue we had was one of the door handles kept getting stuck, then literally wouldn’t open at all! Maintenance came and had to remove the door handle from the door. 2. The washer/ dryer combo- terrible, it cleans the clothes fine, and dries them fine, but the problem is the door doesn’t open! And sometimes the dryer keeps going and going, stopping and turning it off does not open the door, you need to run another shorter cycle? I still can’t figure it out and my clothes are stuck inside it. Every time I use it, I am risking possibly not being able to get my clothes out. 3. The worst issue that has happened was our air conditioning stopped working! Now the first day this was okay as it was hot, but bearable, they offered to switch rooms but also told us that it would be fixed the next morning, so as we loved our view and the room so much, we decided to stay and stick it out overnight, but then it was unable to be fixed the next day. They tried accommodating us but the only way is to move us twice, but still having access to our current room although at this point it has no air conditioning and 1 door has no door handle on it. Overall, would I stay here again? Maybe, but just make sure to address any issues as you come into the room.

Amazing! Checked into my 1 bedroom park view apartment with a lovely lady named Jodie. She gave us our cards and said she thought the room she gave me would be nice for my birthday... I wasn't sure what that meant until we got up there and it was a beautiful 2 bedroom on the top floor. We had an amazing night, my daughter enjoyed the multiple balconies, spa bath, big tv, battery operated blinds and big kitchen. A definite step up from our Grand stays! Great location. Highly recommend!

Excellent location most rooms have ocean views. Yes its getting a little tired, but the location, amenities, cleanliness, and customer service makes up for it all. Checked in with Arun , professional and polite, he couldn't do enough for us. Thank You mate!! Rooms are well kept and our King bed was very good. Important to note that these are apartments not a hotel, so don't review like a hotel. Though they do have a gym and fantastic indoor pool. Couple of great restaurants down stairs that allow you to eat in or get takeaway. Definitely coming back to this gem.

Great place to spend a weekend. My partner and I stayed for 2 nights during our holiday to SA and it was great. The staff were very friendly and nice, the rooms were amazing and roomy, and the ocean view was perfect when winding down after a long day exploring the city! Highly recommend

Marina view room was good because it was so high. You could still see the beautiful beach. Beach was amazing on a gorgeous Summer evening. Food around the pier is great, with great selection and child and wheelchair friendly. Parking was very easy, even with a big 4wd.

This hotel has everything you would need for a comfortable holiday! Spacious rooms, a gorgeous kitchen, brilliant views, and close to beach, restaurants, tram... Only downside for me was the sloping mattress on my bed. However, all other family members loved their beds and matresses. I love this hotel!

Honestly the view was great. And I guess that's what you're paying for. Stayed two nights and ended up going across the road to stay at the other Oaks, for half the price and ten times better service. There were so many small things that bothered me.. yes the rooms were lovely, but not as clean as I'd like for the price. Washing machine but no dryer, clothes wrack or detergent (had all those at the other Oaks, once again half the price). No communication around room service. Asked if I could check out 30 minutes after 10 as I had a counselling appointment, they denied me and housekeeping was banging on my door at 9:45. Won't stay here again. Will be staying across the road at Oaks liberty fortnightly. This place isn't worth the money for the service, or lack there of, alone. For reference I'm talking $560 on a Friday night.

Convenient and clean Grrrr couldn't get the shampoo out of the bottles supplied, I think they were there for decoration only. We visit a lot of hotels, and we are a bit concerned about the safety of climbing in and out of baths to have a shower. Don't understand paying for parking either, if your booking accommodations why isn't parking included.

I wouldn’t stay here again. I always try and avoid suites or apartment rentals because they are always rundown and this was no exception. The carpets were stained the walls were marked, the alarm clock was broken as was the safe. Washer but no dryer or clothes line for your clothes. Tv is old, door and other areas were damaged and looked awful. You pay so much to stay in these places. And it’s so run down. Restaurant isn’t bad however there isn’t much going on. Wouldn’t stay again please avoid

Myself and staff from our company have been staying at Oaks Glenelg for the last few years if needing to do work in Adelaide. Fantastic location, but unfortunately rooms (bathrooms in particular) are showing their age. Prices are reasonable but no longer competitive when factoring room fitout. Unfortunately they no longer seem to want to handle paid (not free) late checkout requests as we have been denied for the last three trips for a 12pm checkout even if they have ample room availability. So we will start venturing elsewhere as most of our flights are PM. We have booked a function room before, and the experience was excellent. Restaurant is decent, and most of the staff are very friendly - especially restaurant and function room staff. Pool is ok, but gym is very run down.

Did not want to sit on couch to dirty. Shower not good 😐. Room was beside lifts so did not sleep well. Key had to be reset could not catch lift to room. Restaurant good. Friendly service desk people.

Oaks Glenelg Plaza Pier Suites is an exceptional hotel that offers a luxurious and comfortable stay in Glenelg, South Australia. Located on the beachfront, the hotel offers stunning views of the ocean and is just a short walk from the main shopping and dining precinct. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed with modern amenities, including a fully-equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, and a private balcony. The decor is stylish and elegant, with a contemporary feel that is both welcoming and relaxing. The hotel also boasts excellent facilities, including an outdoor swimming pool, a gym, and a sauna. The staff are friendly and helpful, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that guests have an enjoyable stay. One of the standout features of Oaks Glenelg Plaza Pier Suites is the location. The hotel is situated right on the beach, providing easy access to the sand and sea. There are also plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby, making it a convenient base for exploring the local area. Overall, I would highly recommend Oaks Glenelg Plaza Pier Suites to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay in Glenelg. With its exceptional facilities, stunning location, and friendly staff, it's the perfect place to relax and unwind on your next visit to South Australia.

After nearly 3 months of my mother being in ICU at the RAH. The staff here went above and beyond to accommodate my family so many times to help make sure we had beds to lay our heads at night. Amazing rooms and heat views. I stay here now quite often

Nice apartments with a good value for money and directly at the beach. The staff is friendly and reception is available 24/7. Parking fees are a bit too expensive in my opinion (22 AUD per night).

Great hotel. Gym is lacking, pool is great. Gym has a duel cable machine, a chest press/row hybrid machine, a Quad Extension/Ham Curl hybrid, a leg press, a c2 rower, 2 treadys and a bike. No bars or dumbbells. Does the trick for a week. Adding this comment because I couldn't find pics of the gym before I came.

Great location. Some facilities were a bit dated and found some light switches didn’t work. Could have done with a little more light in the room too.

Great location. The room was spacious and comfortable, though not particularly clean. Attached are photos of the air vent and dishwasher. The room was not vacuumed in the 6 days I stayed.

Incredibly good value for price. Stayed here multiple times. Rooms are clean and well-furnished, and the sea view is absolutely stunning, especially in summer when you can catch the sunset over the waves! The service is great as well. p.s. You have to request the clothes rack from reception!

I elected to pay extra for a premier Seaview 2bed room suite. I did have a Seaview, but I couldn't call room 709 premier. Cheaply furnished, I had to buy my own decent sized tea mugs and beer glasses. The dishwasher (by the state of the stuck on sign) had obviously been out of service for weeks, plus no salt&pepper. Location and views are fabulous, but sadly more than a bit of TLC is required if they wish to call this room premier. PS Sadly your response to me is exactly the same as you used to other disappointed guests over a month ago. How often will you use these same words before you actually do something about fixing things for your customers.

Brilliant ocean views with stunning sunsets all seen from our balcony. My husband and l didn't want to leave as the white sandy beach and crystal clear waters are what we dream of having on our doorstep. This was a taste of that.

Amazing and incredible stay! The staff are so kind hearted and warm. The cocktails from the pier were great and the food was outstanding. The rooms were nice and have good views. Highly rate the chicken burger 👍

Friendly staff and nice hotel, rooms are bit dated though and need a bit of love. Tv in the room is probably 15 years old and could do with an update. Pool facilities and gym are nice and indoor pool means can be used all throughout the year

Service not good, had to ask for cutlery for breakfast, which was not up to standard with burnt bacon and sausages, the mushrooms were just 1 on the plate. Staff not wearing masks all the time. No excuse as only 6 people in the whole place. This breakfast was not worth the money we paid for it.

Very nice spot. Had to spend some time here due to covid border issues. Service was always prompt. Self contained kitchen so you can look after yourself if you wish.Plenty of shops nearby. The weather wasn't too kind for me but it was winter so I imagine summer would be great. Awesome ocean views and if you like your walks there's that. The room was spacious had WiFi and some have spa bathtubs also. My room could have been better with some more technology like a larger smart TV and more USB ports. The room service menu was not big but was good quality. Overall a pleasant stay.

We had a 2 bed ocean view room and only criticism was we could not book for the whole stay in Adelaide due to availability. We loved it so much and can’t wait to go back. If your looking for a family friendly stay in Glenelg this place is perfect. Location central to Mosley Square and the new Wiggly park. Was amazing!

Rooms are very clean and tidy. Staff are amazing and extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Lovely views of the ocean from room with balcony. Easy to park car in their car park for a fee. Close to restaurants and shops. Great for kids too. Easy access to the beach.

Wanted to give 5 stars. Everything was perfect bar one thing. Not all rooms have updated beds. Using singles to make a king does not work especially with old beds. Beautiful hotel, lovely staff, genuinely helpful from front desk to cleaners. Will definitely come back.

  • 3/5 Janice M. 2 years ago on Google
Location is great. Right on the beach and so close to heaps of parks, shops, marina, kids playgrounds and kids play spaces. Rooms are small, dated and dark. Ours was at least. The washing machine/dryer combo takes a rocket scientist to try and work. If they updated the rooms, they would be onto a winner!!

Only stayed here for a couple nights but wanted to stay much longer. It was an amazing hotel. The staff are super friendly. The rooms were clean and done up really nice and the views were absolutely stunning

Excellent!! Food amazing. Rooms nice & well kept. Staff friendly. Location BRILLIANT! Only down fall is the price. It used to be around $300-$400 a night.. now it's gone up to around $550 per night which seems way too steep. Haven't been able to go back simply because of the cost.

Get a room on the ocean front if you can & if the weather is right you may see dolphins out the front. Rooms were clean but getting a bit tired. Close to restaurants, the Ferris wheel, and the tram.nice to walk along the beach or jetty

Great place for a layover. Great staff and rooms. Beds were super comfortable. Amenities excellent. Nice bar overlooking the ocean with sunset. We will definitely stay again. One small suggestion with the paid parking. Perhaps complimentary parking or discounted parking when meals/drinks are purchased at the hotel restaurant might encourage more patronage.

Loved my stay for my birthday!! The room was beautiful and clean. one bathroom door wouldn’t close properly, shower was either too hot or cold, some maintenance is needed and the washing machine guide was different too the actual machine but it was so comfortable! The hotel was sound proof and quiet but you could still hear the waves. Could see the ocean from the bed too it was amazing Bed was so comfortable especially for a hotel! Staff where friendly and helpful (but one who was a little rude and hostile) I’ll definitely back!

  • 4/5 Nethiuz 1 year ago on Google
So this place is mostly very good, the rooms are massive which is awesome. The hotel is showing its age a bit with lack of maintenance, bath has spa jets but they didn't work, oh the button is lose, pull it out and it's not even connected to anything. Toilet running all night, no amount of button fiddling sorted that. Otherwise if you need a big room with a kitchen you're on the right track. Price was $100 more per night than I paid for nicer hotels in the hills, maybe it's the beach tax. Staff were good, location is almost unbeatable.

The staff are so helpful & lovely. The apartment was fabulous & clean. Every day the rooms done wonderful by wonderful women. The value for money was also great. In a prime stop for beach, shops & restaurants. Wonderful for families, singles, & groups. Highly recommend

DO NOT STAY HERE! overpriced and rundown. The rooms are tiny and old, the bathroom has mould growing in the grout and there is no room service! I asked for a bucket of ice and the lady told me to try the kitchen or the bar....I then had to ring back again and ask for the number for the bar and they put me through to the switch board who the put me through to the bar....the bar said they could not help me, if I wanted ice I would have to come down and get it!! For $400 I was expecting good quality that is in line with other accommodation at that price range. To sum it up, lacking service, quality, cleanliness, space/size and overpriced

I have been coming here for over 10 years, in fact I loved it so much my daughter got married here last year. We stayed over the weekend and the bathroom was full of mould, it was disgusting. I tried to get a managers email to send pictures but was given an email that is old and bounces back. I’ll be cancelling my next booking. Very disappointed

Great place to stay in Glenelg. Our room showed signs of aging and washing machine didn't work. Reception did it all for us which was lovely. Shower/bath which is harder for ageing people and it flooded every shower. Cleaners were a bit if a hit and miss but all staff very friendly and helpful

Room 315. Had great views of sunset 🌇. Room was comfortable, clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Centrally located to transport (tram and bus services) half hour to airport and Adelaide city centre and of course we were on the ⛱️ beach and dinners.

Hotel large and common areas well kept. Restaurant/bistro and bar looked good. Rooms spacious with kitchenettes. Stayed in a 2 bed suite which only had 2 chairs on balcony. One was broken/split. Room clean. Nice touch with the upgrade for our anniversary which we appreciate. Staff welcoming. Not happy to pay for the night AND parking fees on top.

Brilliant stay at the Oaks. Organised beach view and it was worth it with the balcony. Apartment is spacious for two and is either self contained or you can access the hotel facilities. Worth the stay!

We were very excited to have a 9 day stay at the Oaks Glenelg Plaza Pier, a much-needed holiday we had been looking forward to all year. Sadly, our holiday stay was not what we were hoping. The location was great, the size of the room was great and that is where the "greatness" ended. In the room the safe wasn't working , the washer/dryer wasn't working, and the dishwasher also was not working. Travelling as a family the kitchen and laundry facilities were one of the reasons we wanted to stay at the Oaks Plaza Pier. The "daily" room clean was minimal at best, beds not made, bathroom not cleaned, toilet paper not replenished etc. The staff (with a couple of exceptions at front desk) all looked miserable and defeated. We went to reception 3 times in our 9 days stay asking to chat with a manager about our concerns and there was always an excuse as to why we couldn’t speak to someone. I do not usually write Google reviews, but I felt compelled to write this one because of the treatment from the hotel. When we finally spoke to a manager, we were told that because we had pre-paid for our room back in October there was nothing they could do to compensate us as the funds would already be at head office. We paid absolute top dollar because it is peak season, and so wanted our stay to be amazing or at least get what we paid for. Instead, we have left feeling angry and we will not return. Do better Oaks !!! We look forward to returning to the Stamford Grand in the future.
