Rude, dismissive, were told that (quote)"coins are just a little hobby & aren't worth anything..like stamps"(end quote)..& yet your TV adverts have COINS in the wording at end of ad. & why do people buy coins from the mint if they're not going to increase in value?? We had coins in folders apart from bought 'mint' ones. Dodgy company. Despicably rude smart mouth owner who does nothing but troll & bring the company down. Think it's time this 'business' was taken to the fair trade ombudsman & ACCC. Your back-chats to disgruntled customers do you no favours & are rude & condescending.

Last week I came in and they told me $2000 for a ring but said if got a valuation certificate and came back I'd get a higher offer. So I came back with a valuation certificate (which cost me $80) valuing the ring at $7500... but weirdly now they only offered less then $1000 for the exact same ring WITH THE CERTIFICATE. The only difference was that last week I was in dress clothes, this week I was in work high vis with an indigenous face mask on.... I really hope it had nothing to do with that. For the record I don't need the money. I just don't need the ring. I've never had to do a google review before, I'm more of a word of mouth kind of person but I felt the need as they wasted my time and money so casually.

I was really upset today with the customer service that people from this place provide. This is a second-hand jewellery store but it's impossible to get any discount, even $10, in there. I can't understand why. If you are a permenant customer, they don't care too. No negotiable. Will never go back again. After visiting this unpleasant place, I went straight away to another store - Cash Converters and bought 2 beautiful pieces of jewellery with a fair discount. It was lovely to spend a time with people who understand your needs, your concerns and who are ready to help you so much to make a right choice. Adelaide Exchange staff from Glenelg should learn customer service from their colleagues from Cash Converters on Glenelg.

Such a shame this day and age you can receive such poor service wasn’t upset with pricing etc just to be looked down on and treated like anything but a customer is upsetting. I understand older people sometimes don’t get that this day and age to show a great deal of respect but the older lady working there should just not be serving if she’s going to give attitude. This is only my 2nd ever review but this shop does not deserve business the Mitcham store treats customers with respect.

No wonder that there are usually no customers in the Glenelg store. AEJ are overpriced - & the service is atrocious, impersonal, and unfriendly .... the security guards are somewhat patronizing - & could show a little more tact to customers. UPDATE - IN REPLY TO THE MANAGER OF ADELAIDE EXCHANGE JEWELER'S COMMENTS : I do take offense that a security camera filmed me during my first visit & that you have used the footage for my (honest) Google review .... I thought that this practice is illegal? When your on duty security guard approached me to remove my hat - I understood - & happily did so with some non offensive humor - which I'm sure he would have appreciated. I was never rude to him or anyone else. From what I can remember, I was never asked to log into a Covid registration at that time. Anyway - THANK YOU ! - today I have collected my perfectly repaired ring from your store (compliments to the jeweler) - & inturn, have restored some faith in Adelaide Exchange Jewelers. Never the less, I have waited nearly a month for the repairs to be completed. It seems as though the repairs had been completed several days ago - but I never received a promised complimentary phone call on completion ....... In the meantime, I have been phoning your store several times for a completion date. During the years of having my own business, I have never failed to put in to practice that 'the customer comes first'. Shall we leave it at that please ?

We were hoping to buy good quality jewellery. Unfortunately the old skinny lady with grey hair was so rude that we walked out. We will take out business elsewhere. The staff and security guard were more interested in talking to each other than actually doing their jobs properly!

I spoke to a Woman about getting my coins valued or possibly might sell some. She was rude & submissive. Didn't want to know about the coins, but if I was selling Gold, it was a different matter. She didn't even know what I possibly had.. I would like to meet her face-to-face. That would be a different matter..

Wish I could give zero stars. Worst customer service. Rude OLD ladies standing around chatting amongst themselves and couldn't be bothered serving me. Wanted to spend about a grand on a birthday present. Will happily take my money elsewhere and never step foot in that depressing place again. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I had my engagement ring professionally valued at another jewellers at $10,000, Adelaide Exchange offered me $1,100. No word of a lie. In response to the snarky owner, who clearly doesn’t possess high intelligence, I have attached a photo proving it’s a valuation for sale, not insurance purposes. Is your offer always around 10%? Ouch.

I was reading the reviews on here on the car trip down prior to heading in to visit Adelaide Exchange down at Glenelg ... and yup, It was a quite similar experience as to what others had posted, from the moment you walking in, the security guard eye balling you down, to feeling belittled, I almost cried on my way out of there.. Wouldn't suggest going there, sorry

Staff are needlessly condescending and the price they offer for scrap/broken jewelry is as low as it gets. Avoid.

Very rude and impatient lady, was evasive about potential price and refused to give any idea about value, unless I paid a fee for a quote. Guess I’ll shop around more.

I had a lovely young girl serve me, very delightful gave excellent service and was very patient with me when I looked at lots of items. Had great chat with her and gave me lots of information about selling jewellery never knew I could do. Will be telling all my friends and family to go to glenelg. Thanks to the young girl again didn’t catch her name but was tall. Thanks.

I went into the Glenelg Adelaide Exchange on Saturday to sell some jewellery. I had never done this before so I wasn't quite sure how it all worked. The lady who served me was wonderful. She explained the process and how it all worked. I sold my jewellery and was so happy with what I got. Great customer service. :)

The Adelaide Exchange at Glenelg has been my "go to" spot for jewellery for many years. The service and the advice I have received in relation to selection of jewellery has been invaluable. Being able to purchase individual pieces that are unique is what brings me back, as I hate modern shops that stock identical mass produced products.

Had a repair done by the jeweller at Glenelg and he was fantastic, been to other places but they never suggested the work he did to it and my ring looks better than ever. Female staff are also fantastic, very lovely and knowledgeable and always up for good laugh, so nice to have a great jeweller so close to home. Will be back!!!!

First-time customer. Great experience, I dealt with Erica, an amazing person & and a lot of knowledge. Sold a Krugerand above the gold value. I will definitely be returning. Security was welcoming & customer service exceeded my expectations. Thank you, AEJG.

Would give zero stars if I could, charge a fee to provide a quote that doesn't outline the items you bring in.

Not Happy At All Really not happy with them. You think you could trust an establishment such as Adelaide exchange but in reality, no!! Deceitful, if you are selling gold, make sure to know exactly the weight of your gold and ask to see the weight showing on their scale. Well, it is my fault as I just didn’t question it at the time and the answer, I got from them later, was: “ too bad, you signed on it and accepted the price, nothing we can do now!” And I find that intolerable! Never going back ! Lost 510 dollars ! Live and learn …

I recently had the pleasure of shopping at Adelaide Exchange Jewellers recently, and I must say it was a fantastic experience. I was looking for a gold chain for a special gift, but was frustrated by the poor service and confusing pricing at other jewellery stores. I was delighted to discover an extensive range of chains to choose from at Adelaide Exchange Jewellers, and with the assistance of the friendly and professional staff, I was able to find exactly what I was looking for. Not only did I find the ideal chain, but it was also less expensive than I had anticipated. Adelaide Exchange Jewellers provided excellent customer service. The staff was knowledgeable and took the time to understand my needs and preferences before making helpful recommendations that were neither pushy nor overbearing. I recommend Adelaide Exchange Jewellers to anyone looking for high-quality jewellery and excellent customer service. I will definitely be returning for future purchases.
