Very disappointed the first time I went it was around x2 weeks ago with my husband I asked for picanha and my husband asked for bbq chicken we had informed the waiter that I could not eat anything that contain eggs due to my alergy to eggs till this point all was going well the food arrived and I noticed one of the salads had some cream so I asked the waiter if that salad had any trace of eggs and for my surprise he said yes mayo.... I was lucky I dint touch the salad but I expected for them to apologise or inform me about that salad containing eggs... I kept calm and continued to eat my meal but i felt ill it could be some egg trace on the food not sure but it was mild symptoms...after passing few days I decided to give another go a second chance so as soon I arrived I informed the waiter that I could not have anything that contain eggs due to my egg allergic reaction I asked for cod (bacalhau) and my husband asked for farinheira when the food arrived I found my cod had a cream so to make sure the food was safe for me to eat I called the manager (Sr Antonio) asked him if the cod had eggs and for my surprise he said obvious this type of bacalhau has eggs after I informed the restaurant that I was allergic to eggs they serve me food that contain eggs ?!! Again I informed him I was allergic to eggs and I did informed his staff and for my surprise he just stood there looking at us did not offered to replace the food with a different choice or any other solution I was agitated and to calm things down my husband offered to eat the fish and swop his meal with mine so I end up eating what I dint fancy and my husband had to eat food that he doesn't even like (mostly fish) all because the owner did not care about his clients needs they are very careless or he does not have a clue on how to deal with delicate issues, I know people that can die with food allergies i was lucky at this moment in time eggs makes me very ill vomiting pain etc but does not kill me but this can change any time in the future a Dr warned me... I can not believe the service this place offer this is very serious the owner rather gain few € and place his clients in danger I had taken that weekend off to go out and end up ill in bed I think the farinheira also had trace of eggs or had eggs in it or was fried in oil that fried eggs not sure, again he let my husband swop our meals and he dint bother to interven or find a solution very sad. Hidden gem in pedaçaes! This place is packed almost every day they’re open for lunch. Big portions, tasty, & family owned - I loved their tamboril (monkfish stew w/ rice) and they are know for their picana (Brazilian steak) loved by all the who’s who around this area. AND have a kids play area! Big plus for families!

The ratios are way off. The place is nice and professional decor, but not for the location it’s in. You would find something like this in Lisbon. As per food quantity and quality; it’s not worth the price. They try to make it gourmet and high class (even the owner/manager walks around like he is), but it’s not nearly. Give it a try but I would recommend going into Águeda for better meals,

For me, the Aldeia restaurant is the most best restaurants in Aveiro district!
