Located
on
Bhagtacharya
road,
Kocharab,
Paldi
at
Ahmedabad,
the
kite
museum
is
a
nice
place,
especially
for
kids
to
see
first
hand
the
beautiful
art
of
kites.
Gujarat
is
synonymous
with
kite
flying
during
the
Uttarayan
festival.
During
this
time
of
the
year,
the
sky
is
rendered
colorful
with
kites
flying
all
over
the
sky
in
unimaginable
sizes,
shapes,
&
color.
Irrespective
of
caste,
creed,
or
religion,
Gujaratis
fly
kites
during
this
festival.
The
museum
is
located
within
Sanskar
Kendra,
designed
by
Le
Corbusier.
It
is
mentioned
that
the
thought
of
setting
up
such
a
museum
came
to
Sri.
Bhanubhai
Shah
when
he
gave
away
his
collection
of
kites
to
Ahmedabad
Municipal
Corporation,
which
also
incidentally
manages
the
place.
The
museum
also
has
display
of
several
historical
aspects
of
kite
flying
since
the
ancient
times.
It's
astonishing
to
read
about
the
different
types
of
kites
from
other
parts
of
the
world
&
how
this
art
has
evolved
over
the
ages.
The
museum
is
easily
accessible
by
different
modes
of
transport.
Overall,
a
beautiful
place
to
visit
with
kids.
