Mr. Prasanna along with his sons and wife made our stay in Viva Residencies the best accommodation in our Lanka trip. The family is as hospitable anyone can be. They welcomed with warm smiles and took care of our needs. Anytime we needed help they were ready. They go out of way to provide excellent service. Before we checked in got a call and text from Mr. Prasanna regarding our check in time and date. They accommodated early check in and as well as late check out. Provided with an exquisite room which accommodates everything. The room contains a spacious living room, kitchen with amenities, laundry facilities and a big bedroom. It felt like home away from home. The location Vivas is situated makes it easy for transportation across different parts of Colombo city. On request they provided with a breakfast to the room, which was more than enough for us, with variation daily. They were attentive and reviewed with us for changes. But food was as good as any restaurant and we didn’t have to worry about what to have in the early morning. We stayed for 4 nights and the service and hospitality we received was same as a 5 star hotel. Mr. Prasanna went out of his way and went with us around Colombo in search of something we needed. I stayed at Vivas for five weeks. I can heartily recommend this as a great base for someone new to Colombo. The standard of the accommodation is good and very modern. Mr Fernando and his family were amazingly hospitable and could not do enough for me. They were always ready to help in any way and always had a friendly welcome for me. This made it a real home from home and great starting point for getting to know Sri Lanka.

I am based in New York. My in-laws are in Sri Lanka. In-between business obligations my wife and I try to plan getaways to Colombo. Probably 2 or 3 times per year. Although we have most frequently chosen a large 5 star property near the US Embassy, this last trip we tried a RESIDENCE location very much in the heart of Colombo. Vivas is located in Dehiwala, with easy access to Colombo business or the beaches down south. Vivas price was astoundingly low. There is off street parking for your car or van, and there is sunbathing available on the top floor. Vivas is a brand-new elevator accessed 4 floor property. Very clean. On my 3rd floor there were 2 efficiency apartments. Each apartment has a full kitchen with appliances, an ample sized living room/dining room and 2 spacious bedrooms with COLD Air Conditioning and attached bathrooms complete with HOT water. Each of the 3 rooms had balconies overlooking the neighborhood. The layout was perfect for my family to visit. We took both apartments and used the entire floor as a 4-bedroom suite. Very comfortable and home-like. The manager Aruna and the owners Prasanna (who has 30 years of hotel management) and Lakmini, (who is a renowned local artist), were extremely accommodating for anything we might want. It was my birthday during this trip, and I had asked for the rooftop to have a party. They recommended a caterer for the party who served and cleaned! And although they did agree, it was monsoon season. Of course, it rained that night. BUT Prasanna and Lakmini opened up the entire back covered courtyard on the ground level, that Lakmini used as her art studio for me to have a family birthday party of about 25 people. It was all perfect. We ate delicious food and admired Lakmini’s art. I so loved her style that I was able to buy a painting during my stay. No doubt I will re-book this property. Top Rating

Spend the last week with my wife & son for 4 days. Must appreciate the warm hospitality of Mr. Prasansa’s son early check in and as well as the late checkout they gave us. Location is really convenient kid friendly surrounding. Had a great stay, laundry facilities to we had highly recommended.

The perfect place if you want to experience the local culture in the city. But at the same time you want to sleep, eat and spend time in comfortable conditions, then this hotel is what you need. Convenient location. Nearby there is: - magnificent zoo - supermarkets - Buddhist and Christian temples - local markets - local interesting shops - the city of Colombo itself with all the sights - and the ocean. We rested there with two small children for 5 days. Many thanks to Prasanna, his family and everyone who works here for an unforgettable experience and impressions.
