One of the places one mustn't miss while visiting elfayoum ... so nostalgic & beautiful...these water wheels used to irrigate farmland around the place ...now it doesn't seem like farmland any more as the city has taken over 😢 there are some cafes around the place that serve quick bites ...good coffee ,tea & other soft drinks & juices ...it's easy to get there once you are near them ...

Well, it's interesting to know about how Prophet Yusuf managed to come up with the irrigation system, thus saved Egypt from the 7-year drought. Not much to do except for drinking tea there. But Qarun Lake is a view not to be missed. I like the fact that they plant sunflowers, date trees and a lot more by the seaside. The lake having the desert as its background is just spectacular.

It's an old place , but not that attractive to be visited. just for a quick visit will be enough for the place and you can sit in one of the Cafes and restaurants , but not a place to come specifically for visiting . You can enjoy local markets as well , selling clothes, souvenirs , and accessories .
