The Al-Askari Shrine in Samarra is an absolute marvel, a sacred haven that encapsulates the very essence of spirituality and serenity. 🙏🌟 The moment you step foot into this holy place, you are enveloped by an indescribable calmness that washes over you like a gentle breeze. 🍃💫 It's as if time stands still, allowing you to connect with the divine in a profoundly personal way. The reconstruction of the shrine is a testament to human craftsmanship and devotion. The intricate Islamic artwork adorning the walls and ceilings is nothing short of breathtaking. 🎨🕌 The attention to detail is awe-inspiring, and it's a visual symphony that speaks to the heart and soul. 💖 One of the most remarkable features of the Al-Askari Shrine is the Sardab of Imam Mahdi. 🕳️🌌 This underground chamber adds an extra layer of mystique to the shrine, where the faithful come to pay their respects and seek spiritual guidance. It's a humbling experience that deepens the connection to this sacred place. 🙌🌌 It's a profound journey of the spirit. It's a place where you can reflect, find solace, and be in awe of the beauty that surrounds you. 🌠 In summary, the Al-Askari Shrine in Samarra is a masterpiece of spirituality and architectural beauty. It's a sanctuary that transcends time and space, inviting you to experience the divine in its purest form. A must-visit for anyone seeking a deeper connection with the spiritual world. 🌌🕌🌠

I was really overwhelmed by the beauty of this place, and many of the interiors are inlaid with gold. Because this place was attacked twice in 2006 and 2007, the process of entering was very cumbersome, requiring two passport searches and two body searches. Ladies need to wear a robe (provided by the mosque) before they can enter. After the second body search, the police will take them into the mosque. Because it is a Muslim country, the photos are taken after questioning!!!But it doesn't prevent me from liking it so much. This place is only a 15-minute walk from the minaret.

It wasn't as bad as the rest of the shrines run by Iraqis cos I think Iranians have some hand in the management.

Highly secured by military. But it is not recommended to visit or stay at night as the place was destroyed some years back by Daesh. Shrine was reconstructed, still you can see some ruins around.
