A true pleasant surprise. Delicious authentic Malaysian food. We tried the Roti, Satay, Anchovies fried rice, Prawns in Coconut milk, Kaya sandwich. Everything was superb. Anwar was the best server any restaurant can ask for. He welcomes us with a wide smile and guided us to make our first order. We will be back very soon to try more food.

Malaysian cuisine that is popular amongst the Malaysian community. Drinks are higher priced than expected but apparently the ingredients are imported from Malaysia. If you miss Malaysian food then this is the place. AED 44/adult. The tau foo fah was a bit watery and the tiny spoon didn't help in eating it.

We celebrated our friend’s birthday and we were not disappointed. We ordered chicken sattay, Nasi Lemak, Mee Goreng and for dessert, we had ABC. Food taste is excellent, has an option for non spicy which we prefer. The server gave the recommended dishes and he got it all right. A must return place. Cozy and not crowded.

Here in Dubai, it is not so easy to find Malaysian restaurant and this Mamak in Al Wasl is one of those rare Malaysian restaurants. I tried Laksa like soup noodle (but it was not Laksa, sorry but I cannot remember the name...) and it was superbly delicious with the scent of shrimp extract. Milk tea with spice also tasted great!

Good food. Tried these : Ox Tail Soup...average Nasi Lemak with Daging (Beef)...very good Roti Sardine...very smooth and juicy Butter Prawn...sweet with spicy..tastes like dessert and then the spice hits you. Something unique.

I’m always happy whenever I get to taste Malaysian food overseas, hence it’s very heartening to be able to have it in Dubai. This place serves very good Nasi lemak, and I can say that it won’t lose out to any of those in Malaysia or Singapore. It taste like the one sold at Uptown Nasi Lemak (in Telok Ayer Singapore), or Dickson Nasi Lemak (Joo Chiat Singapore), and priced equally the same too. The roti Jala was a bit of a let down as it was kinda flat but it’s always amazing to find it as it’s rather difficult to find one in Singapore or even Malaysia. Oh ya, this place airs live football matches (hey, what’s a Mamak place without football!)

If you're looking for authentic Malaysian food, this has got to be the place to eat in Dubai. Hands down. You'll get spoilt for the variety and choice, from Malay to Indian to Chinese, from starters to mains to dessert. They've got Malaysian food covered. Been there so many times, they should make me their ambassador!

Dishes are hit and miss here and there. Rojak, roti jala, mee mamak are super but lemon chicken is off. Service is meh. The waitress is questionable - you ordered something and got something else, table of 3 persons, she took order from 2 only. Wonder what is with her. Restaurant is a bit smelly, could do better with ventilation and de-greasing. Maybe next time we should just order, this way no smell while qe eat. Price was high but they have recently fix it to a reasonable level.

Good Food | Convenient Location | Average Service | Recommended ——— Detailed Review Below ———— Mamak is generally considered (and written about) as one of the top 3 Malaysian food places in Dubai. Maybe the place has aged, or the chef has changed but I certainly felt that a city like Dubai deserves a better Malaysian restaurant with better food. I had the following - Last Nemak Daging Rendang (coconut rice served with beef rendang) - 5/10 - the beef was tough (not moist) and had little taste - Mee Goreng Mamak - 7/10 - flavorful - Roti Jala - 7/10 Verdict: Recommended with caution Food/ Quality - 4/5 Location/ Ambiance - 2/5 Price (Value for Money) - 3/5 Service - 3/5

Very bad service. The food. The staff. They serve me un-cooked Porrata. The inside is like rubber. The chef is very unprofessional on treating the guest. Not recommend to visit this restaurant. Because of the staff. Very poor service. Bad behavior of the staff also the kitchen staff the chef who is in charge. Feeling like he’s the owner. Always treat your customer fair. Thank you

First time visiting Mamak as I was craving some Malaysian delicacies, and this place did not disappoint. The portion sizes are huge, and the food is tasty. The food came very quickly, which almost seemed like it was ready and microwaved, but it did not affect the taste. It did seem like they were short staffed and in a bit of a rush (probably because it was the weekend). It's definitely a place I will visit again and will recommend it to all who love malay cuisine.

U know the food is damn good if u come two days in a row. We came during breakfast and lunch time. If I stay in Dubai longer I will come everyday 🤣🤣.. Their roti telur was amazing.. we had to order a second plate. nasi lemak was excellent and their sambal is how I liked it. Not too spicy and a bit on the sweet side. Ayam percik, ayam madu and sotong goreng was excellent. For 2 roti telur, teh tarik, neslo ice and nasi lemak sambal udang, our bills was around 80 AED. To some people maybe its expensive but if u think some of the ingredients are imported, so personally for me, it is still ok. The service was great too.. it really brings me back to Msia for a while. I hope one day u will open a branch in KSA.

Very sad that they treat one of the regular customers like this. We were not able to finished our breakfast and requested for take away. We ordered separate items and were shocked we arrived home that they dumped all our food in one container. Rest assured we will not visit the restaurant anymore.

Ordered 2 fried kuay teow beef for take away and we reached home it smelt pretty awful n tasted bad too. Suspected some ingredients used to make it to b preheated. My advice is to ask if food is made fresh or preheated upon order. Didn’t manage to return back to the restaurant as it’s not that close and I have many other errands to run. As a regular customer am very disappointed with the quality of food given this time.

I can eat this every week. Especially the plain prata. Not all dishes taste like home. But the prata is really ?. Teh tarik is good too. Don’t like the mee soto. Murtabak was acceptable but kind of different. Mee rebus was not bad. Craving for the prata now! It’s better to eat it there as compared to delivery.

  • 5/5 Redza J. 4 years ago on Google
Delicious and authentic Malaysian food. Quick service with reasonable prices. And the teh tarik is on point. Nothing else a Malaysian needs!

Awesome place for Malaysia food! The Prata and Teh Terik is taste exactly the same as I have back at home (singapore) or perhaps even better. There are other food like mee robus, mee goreng, nasi lemak and many more. Parking lot 353C is 2AED per hour. If it’s full, alternative parking is along the street at the back. Restaurant space is of decent size. Not sure about the crowd as I was there on a weekday morning 9am. I will definitely be back again at other timings for a meal.

Great, simple food with interesting flavours and good service! Mamak in Sydney and Melbourne is known as an amazing restaurant and this (although a completely different chain) looks like it might be as good - more research needed though!

Satay ayam, nasi lemak and nasi kandar. Price is Dubai standards, obviously pricey for Malaysia standards. But good for a meal when I miss home food.

If you are craving for authentic Malaysia food, this is one of the place to dine at. A wide range of Malaysia local food offered such as nasi Goreng, ayam merah, roti canai, chendol and much more. Prices are average in Dubai standards, but it's worth the $$ if you want a taste of Malaysia food. Their nasi lemak chilli are nice! They have 4 outlets.
